MRM Locksmith in Westheimer didn't just copy the key they actually went step further and pulled the lock code and had the machine create a factory key cut on an after market key and programmed key fob to the car. Really great, came in for some key duplicates. he wasn't in when I arrived, so I called the number posted. Owner picked up gave me an ETA, and then when he arrived had my keys done in 3 minutes flat. He was doing 1 key for 4 2 for 7, so I got 3 for 10. Which I thought was a pretty good deal, though I haven't done too much key duplicating. I recently had several copies of two keys made. When I tried them out, at first, they didn't seem to work. However, after jockeying the keys back and forth in the locks, I was eventually able to get them to work. I tried them several times in several doors with the same difficulty each time. The keys need to be jiggled in and out before they will turn. I need to issue keys to several users, and I can't in good conscience issue a key that is this difficult to use. I called the company and asked for a refund. His response? "No refunds, we're not Walmart!" I let him know that the keys he made did not represent very good quality. He restated that since the keys do work (even with difficulty) he would not give a refund. He also tried to shift the blame to our locks that were "probably old." We have several doors with locks of various ages, some as new as two years. I have the same key problem with all the locks. It's not the locks, it's the keys. I won't be doing business here anymore. I also noticed the only two reviews posted on his website are from two years ago. There was no place to entire a review on the company website so here I am at Yelp. read more

I was grabbing a coffee next to this shop. Got in my car was responding to a text. The owner (I'm assuming) pulled up right behind me blocking me in and started honking his horn. I did not move out of the spot as I was on my phone. Then he decided to park there and just block me in. He would not come out and move his work van. So I inched out around the spot, got gas and saw that he was basically trying to save the spot for himself to pull in with no regard for anyone. So unprofessional, I get it time is precious but that was such a rude thing to do. Noted I will never use this locksmith if I need one. read more

He is SD, he doesn't do much North county work. Quoted $350 for a service call, rekey and two duplicate keys. Other more local quotes 70-110$. I ended up replacing the whole lock/knob/latch myself ,$40 w deadbolt grade 2. Old one was grade 3 (3 is the worst, grade 1is best) anyway. I can use the old one in my garage or something. I have tons of keys for it. read more
