Worth the drive over to the west side - some of the best soul food I've ever experienced. They have a set daily menu of choices, along with several homemade desserts to choose from. Every meal comes with a sweet tea. Everything is delicious! They pack a lot of employees behind that counter and all are super friendly and helpful. They have a small drive up window and a small lobby, with a few tables inside and outside for sitting. I had the fried chicken and it was possibly the best I've ever had. I don't even know what to say. This might be, hands down, the greatest soul food place that I have ever seen or even heard of. I was stunned by the quality and variety of their offerings. I had trouble choosing what to get. I absolutely have to return and try more of the menu. I will certainly be back when I'm in the area. Oxtails, blackeyed peas, ribs, yams, butterbeans, mac and cheese, creamed corn, huge turkey wings, pork chops, neck bones, fried fish...you name it. Everything you need to make all your soul food dreams come true. Just incredible. The seasonings were permeating the air. The operation itself was simple and efficient. I visited Mrs. B's during a recent trip to Montgomery, AL because my go-to place was not open. Mrs. B's is a small, cafeteria-style soul food restaurant which, surprisingly, also has a drive-thru. I came for lunch/dinner and, from the menu, it appears they have a set daily menu (there was also a huge breakfast menu, but I wasn't there for that). I'm so upset, I watched countless reviews & im convinced ppl are lying for whatever reason. I went on a Sunday around 11:30... the oxtail had a good texture but was missing something, the yams were hella sweet, the broccoli casserole was matted and dry, & the macaroni cheese was dry all seem ed as though it was straight out of the ice box and rewarmed up. All that was $30+ down the drain. I should've just ate truckstop food.. Smh read more

What can I write about this place? The food is just good. Many places have home cooking in its title but is it really. Well this place I can believe there is some home cooking going as it seems to be a family run business. Now I am not saying any child laws are being broken but you feel the family atmosphere when you hear the little girl taking your order yelling "Auntie we got any more greens?" I went there on a Sunday when it was close to closing so that had me a bit worried. Only the drive through was open. Luckily they had a pretty good selection and not one of those places that basically stops cooking anything on the menu as it gets close to closing. I went with a meat (meatloaf) and three side option that comes with your choice of bread and a drink. Being down south I of course went with the sweet tea which was gone by the time I got back. The meat loaf was just the way I like it. I do like meatloaf with gravy over it but more of a fan when it has that tomato glaze over it that was put on while baking. The meatloaf was a star of this meal. It juicy and not greasy with plenty of flavor with just the right amount of onions and peppers in it. Now for some of us this might be blasphemy but I did taste a hint of sugar in those greens. I am not use to that but I know it's done and they did it right. Not too sweet and just the right to compliment when I put some vinegar over it. The ma n cheese had that slight browning so you know it was baked in that pyrex. It was very good and my words cannot do justice for this place. If you in the area just go. The only bad part was that this is one of those places you will remember when you leave but remember when back in the area as a spot to hit up. A solid five star spot. read more

The floors were slippery, the walls had a lot of condensation on them. When I went to get up to leave there was a cock roach crawling up my chair and then I looked and saw one on the table. A great option for lunch. Lightly flavored. This was my first time visiting since my dad brought me here in 2018. I got the turkey dressing, with macaroni and collard greens as my side. I went through the drive thru which was very convenient. The dressing and turkey wing were cooked separately (meat not incorporated into dressing). The dressing was served topped with turkey meat and a gravy. The dressing May have been made from sweet cornbread, as it was slightly sweet. The collard greens were made with meat, I'd say they were 6/10, not too flavorful. I did not enjoy the macaroni, taste though it may have been cooked with chicken broth, cheese did not adhere to the noodles well, ever so slightly-greasy, not too much. My to go meal came with a cornbread muffin (I haven't eaten yet because I had cornbread dressing) and a sweet tea which was nice. Not too flavorful and not too bland. I didn't get a picture of my plate before eating but I did get pictures of the current menu. All together my order was $15.16 including tax. read more
