Yes, it's in Blackburn, an Eastern suburb of Melbourne. But for a surprisingly traditional taste of…read moreFrance, go no further than the French patisserie in Blackburn, Bonjour de France. I've been to France on the odd occasion, and I must say that every time I was in a Parisian bakery I'd think to myself "Wow, this feels a lot like Blackburn." That's not entirely true, but Blackburn and France are joined with a wonderful bakery serving the most delicious french pastries and more. Wit both owners as pastry chefs, you wont find a better place in a good ten kilometres of here. The only problem I've had every time I go it "What to have?" which often leads to "What to have first?" Vanilla slice with delicious flaky pastry. Tarts. Meringues. Eclairs. Cheesecakes. Truffles. The list goes on. For those after a more savoury selection, there is also pasties, quiches and pies. All bits are made fresh daily on the premises, so the best time to come is mid morning for the best selection available. Come any later and you may miss out. The coffee is a wonderful strong addition to the sugary sweetness of the pastries, and all the energy will keep you going until your next meal.

Always fantastic food here…read more You wouldn't expect this sort of quality in an outer eastern suburb shop yet this shop never fails to deliver. From their assortment of Pies and Quiches to the mouth watering pastries. I always buy the Vanilla Slice and recommend it to anyone interested.

Montano's Patisserie - The eggs were pretty small and overcooked. You can see that they lost a lot of the egg white.

Serving this in such a stylish place is pretty disappointing. No butter on the toast, either. Desserts were decent, but for the price and presentation, the basics should be much better. Wouldn't come back for breakfast.

TV on wall showing music videos but the customers don't seem interested in it. The place certainly looks clean and inviting in a slightly cramped clinical sort of way. The tables are small but should comfortably fit four adults but not much wiggle room around them would really limit you to three I think. The mug of Flat White is a good size and is nice and hot with a good flavour, the chai latte tastes nice but having never tried it before, I have no reference to compare it to. Certainly nice enough for me to try again. There are a plethora of items to choose from to eat. I had a delicious roast beef and salad with cheese and lovely mustard with my choice of roll, a great combination of flavours and textures. The tandoori wrap was a delight but bordered on the edge of being to hot. Then you cast your eye over a sheer symphony of delightful desserts, a masterpiece of items to get your taste buds jumping up and down with delicious anticipation. How do you decide from such a selection, can you stop at just one or do you flee to save that waist line you've sacrificed so much for. Of course you get a couple of things promising yourself to work that bit harder next time at the Gym. Enjoy, it's the little pleasures in life that add up you know. So, will I drag myself reluctantly back here. You better believe it, especially now I can afford it since cancelling that pesky gym membership. Oh oh, there goes that waist line Back to reality for a moment, there were two uninvited guests at my table today, a legacy of the open door policy, Mr Mozzy and Mrs Blowy. Other than that, a really nice little place with very friendly staff and reasonable prices. Enjoy.

I was surprised at the large amount of freshly baked bread and decided to stock up a weeks worth of breads as well as a few muffins for myself and some workmates which was amazing , Other than all the breads anyone could want this guys have all kinds of other treats including cookies in many shapes and sizes pies ( apple pie, berry pie, meat pies an all the other pies), sticky date puddings, soft drinks and coffee which is honestly no that all praise worthy.

A non-pretentious little shop that sells fresh bread, pizza rolls, ham cheese rolls, cakes, croissants, sandwiches and other typical bakery items. They are quite busy during the mornings, with workers constantly coming in and out for a takeaway coffee and ham cheese croissant. They sell a few cakes (orange and poppy seed, sticky date, cheesecake, mud etc.), cupcakes, tarts, gingerbread men and meringues etc. They also sell muffins fresh in the mornings that are absolutely delicious! The flavors change every day, but they are all so good. I had a berry one once, and there was swirl of raspberry jam all the way through, it was fantastic. Definitely grab yourself a muffin from here. This bakery also stocks milk and pies.

I never really liked the cheese and bacon rolls though - Mum just thought I did. The truth is, they pile a big lump of cheese and bacon right in the middle of the roll. I eat them plain and it means that I get a heap of mouthfuls of plain bread before an overwhelming cheesy bacon bit in the middle. I used to put them in my school bag and throw them in the bin at school if I remember correctly. But aside from the cheese and bacon rolls, they make the most amazing cinnamon doughnuts I have ever tasted. No joke - Knoxfield Bakery. At only 90 cents per doughnut, they are the perfect consistency. Not too hard and not too light. I think I could eat their cinnamon doughnuts all day long and that isn't me exaggerating. The other prices are pretty good and they make really fun cupcakes with smiley faces on them - they taste really good too. Prices are cheap and for the most part I like their products. (Lets not mention those cheese and bacon rolls.) The service is quick and the staff are friendly too. It's a nice bakery and I really think that everyone should get the chance to try their cinnamon doughnuts - come on, they really are amazing!
