I often grab some white rolls when I'm making hamburgers, because they're easy to get to on my way home. They do have a lot of competition in the location that they are in, but for the products that they offer, they're every bit as good as the others. I haven't yet had any pies or sausage rolls there, but the people are lovely and chatty, and I've always walked out feeling as good as you could expect when you buy something at a bakery. The filling has the perfect balance between salty feta and earthy spinach. I can definitely see why it runs out so fast. One morning I popped in to grab one of their Greek pastries with the custard in the middle, and the owner told me they had just baked a fresh batch and went to get me a one from the back. It was still warm which made it twice as good. Now I try to get there in the morning hoping to score another freshly baked goody.

This is the kind of bakery with the kind of bread that you drive a few extra miles to find. Apparently it's the closest to San Fransisco style sour dough in Melbourne. I have a friend who drives from the north of the city to get a loaf. Standard bakery fare on offer and it's all really good. Only a couple of minutes off the Nepean Highway so if you are passing through detour, you won't regret it.

I was not impressed, the decor was really run down and the place looked like it needed a good dusting and some windex. The table cloths were ripped and dirty from a few days ago and no one had bothered to clean anything. The plates still had some food left over that had become hard on the bottom. The coffee tasted burnt and the froth looked like a pavlova sitting on my coffee. My pie was cold in the centre and the taste was not of what I was told, it was worse. I really wanted to give this place a great review because of what others have told me but mind you they hadn't been back for years so it makes sense to me. Whatever it was in the past that had everyone talking about this place, it seriously needs to go back to it. Or renew it all. You cannot continue with the state of the place and the pies as it stands.

From the use of the old cash register to the posters and old bookshelves of old magazines. They cater for Birthdays to Weddings and all round Celebrations. I got myself the traditional "lemon tart" while my brother, the "100 year old Polish baked cheese cake" with coffee on the side. It taste how it looks. Delectable, delightful, scrumptious... Just before we left we got the classic Carmel Slice, Cherry Crumble and Sacher Torte (Slice) to go. Just as pleasing as the others. For a shop that is located in St Kilda with its steep history, I was surprised to see that the pricing wasn't too expensive or cheap. It was just right... In conclusion, I would come back for after dinner desserts and have them cater for my future celebrations.
