We dropped on a Tuesday afternoon (around 3:45pm) and it was packed. There's tons of different fruit, dried fruit and nuts, vegetables, honey, wines (out through the back entrance) and best of all, fresh fruit ice cream. Seemed like every single tourist had got a cone/cup. It was also nice that you could sample some of the fruits and dried goods. We took advantage and tried a few samples. It's $5.00 NZD for the fresh fruit option otherwise you can get ice cream for $2.50 NZD (single scoop) or $3.50 NZD (double scoop). For the fresh fruit, you can only choose one type of fruit (lame) from the three options (mixed berry, passionfruit and blueberry). You also choose your base (options: vanilla, cookies and cream, hokey pokey, yoghurt and boysenberry). - Fresh fruit ($5.00 NZD) - we went with boysenberry and passionfruit. Lots of seeds; it's the real deal. Boysenberry base was tasty and had a good creamy texture. They mix it fresh right in front of you. - Yum yum plums ($6.60/kg) - we sampled a few of these and they were super sweet. Bought a half dozen for the road. - Omega plums ($4.00/kg) - we wanted to try these ever since we discovered them at the Nelson Market. These were actually cheaper here so we got a bag. If you stop, definitely get a real fruit ice cream!

New World Frankton (Queenstown) is our go to for grocery shopping, such an amazing store which leaves our supermarkets in Australia lacking by comparison. The range of bakery and deli product is outstanding. Great customer service, from a friendly helpful team, even to providing complimentary discount cards for visitors to enjoy the discounted price on a range of product across a well stocked store. And the main attraction? Izzy The Supermarket Cat! we love visiting her, and are amazed at how the management and team have taken her to their hearts and provide care for this wondefully free spirited feline.

You first order and pay at the counter inside and then you take your ticket to the stand where you can choose whether you want ice cream or yogurt as the base, and then pick 2 fruits from the list. I ordered the mango and passion fruit with a yogurt base. I will warn that they don't clean the machine in between making the next order so there is definitely some cross contamination going on, and you could taste a bit of whatever flavors the last person got. Another thing is that on the sign they said that they had a dairy free option which I was hoping to get but it turns out that they don't have a dairy free option, only ice cream and yogurt. Definitely rework that sign to be more accurate. If you're wanting to try some natural real fruit ice cream then this is the place to go to. Just know that you have to be able to tolerate lactose though.

Luckily we found a supermarket all the way at the far corner of Queenstown Mall near Stanley St. called 4 Square Supermarket. There's a small parking lot out front. Inside is clean and organized. There's a lot of fresh local fruits and vegetables, snacks, drinks, coffee, and etc. Oh, and water too! Big bottles of water. Self checkout was easy, and the staff there were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend coming here while visiting Queenstown. It's definitely walkable distance. This might be the last place you'll see, but it's worth it as the prices are MUCH cheaper than anywhere else.

Pretty much anything you need, you can find here. Prices are reasonable--slightly higher than Pak'nSave but definitely cheaper than Woolworths. So far, these are the three supermarkets we've visited, and New World has been a solid option. We usually pick up kombucha, pastries for the next morning, and some eggs since we prefer lighter breakfasts. They accept credit cards, the bathrooms are clean, and there's plenty of parking. A convenient and well-stocked stop for travelers.

My extended family stayed in this apartment and we congregated here as it was the bigger of the 2…read morerooms. Immediately upon walking in, you are met with the stunning view of Lake Wakatipu. Loved the tall windows spanning the length of the apartment and the skylight near the balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery and cookware if you wanted to cook. There's also a washing machine and dryer and they supply dry detergent which is super helpful for our longish trip overseas. Also loved the gas fireplace on those cold days while lounging looking out at the lake. There were 2 separate rooms each with their own bathroom-1 room had the queen? sized bed closer to the living room and the other room was by the entrance of the apartment which had 2 twin sized beds. You can also walk out to the balcony and enjoy the fresh air of NZ. I believe they were doing some remodeling at the time but it was a bit inconvenient to get to the apartment-first take an elevator to a different floor, then pass through the parking garage, then take another elevator, then short walk to the apartment... hence the lower than 5 stars. Also the breakfast buffet was pretty small but it did the job. The location is right by the lake and only a 10 min walk to the downtown. I would definitely recommend to stay here if you're visiting Queenstown and maybe go to another place for breakfast.
