We had a reservation for the Marathon dog sled ride on 12/15/23 which we made in October. We got to the location on time and they never showed up. We travelled over 400 miles just to do this adventure and it didn't happen. We called Mt Bachelor and they refunded our money, but got no apology or anything else. What a complete disappointment and a complete waste of our time and efforts. This is no way to run a business, do not trust these people, they obviously do not give a damn about their customers. We asked them to call us to let us know how this happened, but have received no response. DO NOT BOOK A TRIP WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! read more

Woo! I got this as a christmas gift from my boyfriend, and with the groupon it was a great deal. The staff was so friendly and encouraged petting the dogs (which is my favorite part). Our guide was professional and knowledgable, and knew the ins and outs of dogsledding so we were able to ask lots of questions (my second favorite part). The sled was more comfortable than I thought it would be and even though it was raining we didn't notice or mind as there was sufficient tree cover. At Batchelor with friends and I don't ski so was looking for something fun to do. Hit the jackpot with this! Jessie, my guide was super friendly, mellow and skilled. Being on the sled with the dogs was magical! Only felt slightly guilty hanging back and watching them work but you can tell they LOVE it. Got to hang out and watch the dogs get fed/watered afterwards and didn't want to leave. These dogs are awesome and friendly and pure athletes. Amazing experience. -Staff was super friendly. -Our guide Rafael was very knowledgeable and answered all 37584 of our questions. -They let you play with the dogs, feed them, take pictures with them, etc. -You really see how much love they have for the dogs and how much love the dogs have for them. -Each dog has a name and is unique in its own way. Some are shy, some are clumsy, some are more outgoing. I think this was the coolest part of the tour. -We wanted to do the marathon tour, but there wasn't enough snow. We just got finished up here! The ride was tons of fun, and it's mid-July. I can't even imagine how much fun this would be in the snow! We went to Mt Bachelor to ride the ski lift up the mountain. We were instantly distracted by 20+ barking huskies. We cautiously approached the group and were greeted by the extremely friendly owner and his daughter, an Iditarod racer. They let us spend a solid 20 minutes wandering around and playing with the extremely friendly dogs. Every single one was awesome with people! The ride itself was the best part. For only ten bucks per person, a group of five of us got to ride around the mountain for about a mile. The dogs were incredible! Again, after the ride, the owners let us hang out and play with the dogs some more. We easily snapped over 100 photos and they were completely fine with it; they weren't rushing us out of there or trying to get more money out of us. Overall, this was an incredible experience which I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone feeling adventurous in the area. The owners, dogs, and sled ride were all phenomenal. I gave a sled- dog ride to my young team as a Christmas gift -and could not have made a better choice . they were soo excited and inspired. Not only sis they have fun , but also learned a lot about Huskies and Mt Bachelor. A big shout out to Travis and Rachael and Alex - phantastic guides.! Anyone : This is the ideal gift for a young, athletic person and every outdoor dog lover Only problem is the reservation system at Mt. Bachelor - not very responsive and really acting like it is not their priority to give good customer service . Lot's of fun! Very unique experience! Worth every penny!! The ride was so beautiful and breathtaking our toddler fell asleep half way thru!! We arrived there early, so we started early. Be there on time. They'll have you sign some release of liability forms. Bring sunglasses for the kids too, dogs can flick a lot of snow. Wear gloves, otherwise the cold wind will freeze your hands. Specially the kids. There's some hills that feel like a mild roallercoaster. Pretty cool. There are some stops so the dogs take a break and you can take pics (from inside the sled, no getting out). Our musher was a pretty cool young guy. Tip your musher. Book early! Specially for holiday weekends, they get booked fast! read more

My boyfriend and I did this in January and it was so much fun! The dogs are sweet and friendly. Our musher was very nice and gave a lot of info on the area, the dogs and the company. Our trip was about 45 minutes total for the round trip. I would highly recommend for couples or families. There is an adults only day trip with lunch included that we considered for our next trip to Bend. read more

My wife received this sled dog ride as a birthday gift and I have to say the experience was incredible. Exceptional customer service upon arrival and a total experience that was astounding. Our musher Nick was as good as it gets explaining everything and making sure that our experience was great. The real stars were the athletes pulling the sled. We had an amazing time. The kids and I learned so much about the dogs, how they work together, along with taking in some beautiful scenery. Our guide Patrick was excellent with information and working with kids. The family who operates this was fantastic. My kids loved every minute of it. We also purchased a book off Amazon written by the daughter who runs the company about her experience with working with the dogs and racing. Best thing I did my entire stay in Bend!!! Highly, highly recommend this trip with the nicest staff. They accommodated us even when we were late to our appointment when we got lost on the way. They also helped us add on an additional 2 people who wanted to join in the fun even though the lodge we were staying at said that there was no more room. We had the best day and loved learning about the experts who took us out for the morning. So much fun, so comfortable, absolutely beautiful. Mt. Bachelor is lucky to have such a wonderful team working up there!! read more

This company is a joke. We bought a gift certificate through a school auction for a sled ride. We booked over a month in advance and we were told we were good to go. We drive through a wonderful storm to get there and discover our name is not on the list. We called the main office (since nobody was willing to help us in person) and were told they consider Monday, December 21st a holiday so they won't be honoring the gift certificate. We were told "people that are willing to pay premium prices take priority over coupons" (It wasn't a coupon, it was a gift certificate we paid more than face value for). Seems like maybe they could have called and let us know we weren't important since we "only have a gift certificate". The disappointed 5 year old was the best part. What a joke. read more

They gave rides for my son's kindergarten class. They were excellent explaining the times to the class and had a great system for getting all of the rides done. The dogs all behaved event and even let the kids let them. Super people! You have to go for a dog sled ride! read more

This was an awesome and unforgettable experience! Super expensive (about 160/person) and when we did this on our special occasion, the experience was phenomenal. The father and daughter that are running this show are kind, intelligent and really helpful and entertaining. Dogs are super loud as you're waiting for your turn, but once you go, they know exactly what to do. If you're doing this in the winter, make sure you have eye wear (goggles, mask, etc) because as it is snowing and raining, you will get it in your eyes. Also, make sure you have thick pants or coat or an additional warm blanket, because you will be sitting in the sled and it does get pretty cold and wet. Keep in mind that over the phone, as you're making your reservation, you are told that you will get a chance to feed the dogs afterwards, but in reality, you just stand and watch the process as the owners pour dogs food into their bowls. Also, note that if you arrive in time for your reserved ride, you will not actually start on time-it will be at least 20 minute wait, since they only start attaching dogs on the spot, after you get there, as opposed to getting everything ready for your reserved time slot. Also, the actual ride is about 30 mins with lots of stops for the dogs to rest. read more

Got a groupon as a gift for the dog sledding trip for 2 at mt bachelor. With blackout dates, and only one available open date within the next 3 weeks, the groupon expires before we are able to use it. They were really unhelpful and apathetic to the situation. Shame on you Mt Bachelor! It seems you continue with your self serving ways! read more
