I cannot recommend this practice based on my experience. While my interactions with Mrs. James were…read morepositive due to her compassionate bedside manner and apparent knowledge, the administrative experience was extremely disappointing and ultimately overshadowed the quality of care. The receptionist, Tasha, who manages the administrative side of the office, demonstrated a concerning lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability throughout multiple interactions. In my experience, her handling of patient concerns could significantly impact patient trust and retention. To begin with, it is nearly impossible to speak directly with anyone at the office. Calls are automatically routed to an answering service, and responses appear to depend entirely on whether the receptionist chooses to return calls or messages. Attempts to obtain clarification, answers, or follow-up often went unanswered, which created unnecessary frustration and confusion. Our issues began after my daughter's well-child visit in December 2025. The appointment took place on a Saturday, and by Monday I had already received an online bill, despite annual wellness visits being fully covered by insurance. When I questioned why the insurance had not been billed correctly, Tasha stated that my daughter's policy showed co-insurance responsibility. However, after contacting Blue Cross Blue Shield directly, I was informed that this information was incorrect. I provided the office with the insurance representative's reference number and requested that the claim be resubmitted. Although I was told this had been done, it was never properly processed. This continued for approximately four months, ultimately resulting in my insurance company opening an investigation. According to the insurance representative, the office failed to respond to their attempts at communication, and to this day the claim still has not been submitted correctly. All related documentation remains on file with my insurance provider should further action become necessary. By this point, I was already considering changing providers. Shortly thereafter, my daughter became ill for over a week, and I had to follow up twice just to secure an appointment. During this process, I was initially offered an appointment outside of regular office hours, which raised additional concerns. At the conclusion of the visit, I was informed there would be a $200 charge related to FMLA documentation for my daughter's absence. I was told I could pay partially in cash and send the remaining balance through Zelle. When I mentioned paying online or by credit card in-office, I was instead encouraged to text my card information directly, which I found highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Several individuals who later became involved in the situation--including representatives from my insurance company, our FMLA provider, and my employer--expressed concern regarding how these matters were handled. While I worked to gather the required funds, my employer simply contacted the office to verify dates related to my daughter's illness. Following that interaction, I was redirected and encouraged to have Children's Hospital complete the FMLA paperwork instead. Had my employer not recognized the circumstances and worked with me directly, the delays and confusion could have jeopardized my employment. Overall, my experience reflected serious concerns regarding communication, billing practices, professionalism, and administrative integrity.

We've been pleased with her care as well as the care our baby has received from the other docs there in between our well visits. The whole staff at this location is super helpful and thoughtful.

It is so time consuming and a little unnerving to find a new primary care doctor. I was definitely…read morehesitant to go to a male doctor since I have only had female ones in the past. Let me tell you, this place is not only professional and easy to work with, they are absolutely one of the best at communicating with patients. They called to confirm my appointment, when I arrived they took me through all of the steps as a new patient, and they didn't make me feel like just another body to get through. If you get the choice, I highly recommend Dr. Michael Hoffman. Not only does he have an excellent bedside manner, but he takes the time to check through your previous records, ask you questions about your health, and offers reasons why your health is good, and suggests what you can do to stay healthy. The nurse was also awesome. LeAnn was profession and friendly. She took blood and was seriously so gentle. I was very comfortable and the wait times were not long. Total, I spent about 45 minutes in the office, from arrival to departure. If you are looking for a new primary care physician, definitely check them out!
