Additionally, it doesn't matter that you buy tickets online. You will then have to stand in a stupid long line to get a wristband to THEN go stand in line at your haunted house of choice. The coordinators literally just created 1 huge line that takes hours to get through for no reason. No street vendors or entertainment outside of the houses anymore. Haven't been in a few years hence why I didn't know about the armband or general boringness of the current experience but I imagine it'll be my last time.

But don't worry, we were told that they stay open until maybe 11 or midnight so it might be worth getting in line. We were told to stand in the same line as people who didn't buy tickets ahead of time. No warning of this line. They just take your money and assume you'll either give up or spend your entire night in a line an half of a mile long. Absolute joke.

The set designs were impressive, and a few moments actually delivered a decent scare. However, it was still extremely hot inside, which made the experience uncomfortable after just a few minutes. While the timing between groups was improved compared to The Edge of Hell, the overall organization still left a lot to be desired. For $69 (for two haunted houses), I expected a smoother, more professional setup and better crowd management. Although The Beast offered more thrills, it still didn't live up to the hype or the hefty price tag. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're okay with paying a premium for an experience that feels more exhausting than entertaining.

However, we were chest to back with others the entire way - they slow it down briefly with a slide - but this was mostly animatronics and not many human actors. most importantly - they didn't spread out groups going through the house - which made it super hot and miserable After Beast, we went to Macabre - which was a SIGNIFICANTLY better experience - mostly human actors - couldn't recommend that one enough! 4.5/5 * for Macabre

The event itself is multi-layered. You first turn your radio to their personal station and drive through some haunted woods filled with animatronics, carved pumpkins, and some living(?) characters, too. It's kind of like holiday lights, but spooky! After you park, you can walk through the outdoor decor. There is PLENTY of neat things to look at, especially their huge, handmade animatronics. You can purchase apple cider slushies and popcorn if you're hungry, and there is a port-o-potty if you're worried about peeing your pants Finally, you can go inside to walk through a life-sized replica of the Evil Dead house, you can curl up on a couch and watch the Halloween Tree or go inside and watch a grown up spooky movie. There are other scenes to walk through, too. This is fun for all ages, the people that run the event are so sweet. They make and keep up the scenes and do so out of the kindness of their hearts. So, if you want a fun place to explore without getting too scared, or you want to see some fantastic craftsmanship, I recommend going to Jack's Hollow asap. The most boring haunted attraction I've ever attended, the house also seemed severely under staffed and is definitely NOT worth your cost of admission. Don't waste your time with this one!

A good beginner's house, is how I'd describe it. It's fact, that the original owner of "Poe's Chambers" died in the elevator shaft while doing general maintenance on it. It's also fact, that the coffins used in the "coffin room" are real, once-had-someone-buried-in-them, coffins. They should really capitalize on those two facts to enhance the creepiness of this haunted attraction. They do not even mention it, to my knowledge. Furthermore, something that could be done to enhance the scare factor, is to explain the Poe stories a bit better. Develop the plot. Signs on the wall, a running commentary. A pamphlet they hand out to people in line... I realize the point is to move people through, but there has to be a way to tell the stories better. Maybe a recommendation on the website to read Poe's stories. I haven't read anything by Poe since high school, some 15 year ago. The props in the rooms, although well done, were lacking in any explanation and would have held more "punch" if there had been some instilled fear behind them. Some understanding. I heard people in line talking about the Tell-Tale Heart - they didn't even know the name of the story or any of the details, except something about being buried alive. And, without knowing that, or understanding what you're experiencing afterward in the house - what is there to really be scared of? It's just a maze with some eerie scenes thrown in, a lot of flashing lights and some obstacles to crawl through, but definitely lacking in the spook factor. So, if it's your first time ever experiencing a haunted house, read some Poe stories and then go. Enjoy this and build up to the real thing, a few blocks down and around the corner. If you've already been to the "granddaddy of them all", do not waste your money here. You'll be unimpressed, I fear.

All of the perks still work like parking, drink cup and admission. However, our food pass did not work as specified on the website. You have three choices, only use the passes at Six Flags park, refund or get a certificate of $120 dollars. Even the discounts worked too. The atmosphere is you still feel like you are at a Cedar Fair park as they have the same uniforms and Snoopy greeted us. Cons were they did not open the parking lot until 10:30am which there was a line outside. They used to open the parking lot at around 10:00am. The VIP line was not obvious, but it is on the left most lane and we were able to get into the park early. Was impressed that the rides did open at 11am as sometimes we have to wait 30 minutes. I guess the day we went where lucky as most of the rides were opened. We wanted to ride Fury of the Nile and Steel Hawk, but they were closed, but Timber Wolf ended up being opened. Ride operations were not too bad as they moved quickly. I liked how the rides were maintained and Prowler they added more steel track and less roughness. The longest I waited was 50 minutes and that was Mamba and they were only running 1 train. The people where were great at putting people in the correct lines and was. Timber wolf opened that day and had one cart running and I was surprised how smooth it was. My wife and I ended up riding most of the rides. There were not shows that day that we were aware. Overall, we had a fun time there.

Definitely disappointed because we wanted to ride the Mamba which is their 75mph coaster and selling point. Missed out on a lot but I have no doubt that this park is exciting when the rides are actually running. Regardless, employees and attendants were very kind and I give a shout out to Mila for holding my purse on one of the rides :)
