My favorite is the Uptown platform's "Minton's Playhouse," the neighborhood jazz place on W. 118th St., known as the birthplace of bebop, that he enjoyed and which still operates today. (Also look forward to checking out Minton's Playhouse Jazz Lounge myself!) The Downtown Platform's mosaic is "The Movers and Shakers," featuring many historic, iconic Harlem figures. Hopefully soon, MTA will install elevators to enable people in wheelchairs, physically challenged, or with a stroller or carriage to access this 116th St. station.

Connects you to almost wherever you need to go in Manhattan on on the East or West side, Queens, Brooklyn or the Bronx. The underground passageway also connects you the the World Trade Center Memorial, Brookfield Place, and Path trains... just follow the signs. Great way to stay dry if you work in the area during the winter or the rain storm and have to get from the train station to Path/Brookfield Place, etc. Various exits will lead you to where you need to go, but one should know or have to figure out which exit to take or ask someone. Escalators in the Fulton Center will lead you to certain trains - mid-level is the 4,5 and lower levels are the rest. Follow the signs. The Fulton Center Station also has Dunkin and other eateries where you can purchase snacks and food if you need to grab a snack before you head to/from your destination. Also, refill your Omni card now that Metrocard has been retired, or just tap your credit/debit card to pay.

I mostly go to the front of the platform the J going to Jamaica since the front of the platform is much more bearable. The end of the platform got a lot of smokers. J trains take forever to come compared to the 4 and 5 trains, which come like every second. Sucks that the J trains take forever. Got so much anxiety and impatience waiting in this train station. Also sometimes the train is packed when the previous station is Broad Street, the last stop on the J train. So why is the J train packed with no seats at Fulton?!?

But clean and well lit for 2pm on a weekday. The station is handicapped accessible, which is nice. There are two levels with tracks (A/C/E on the B2 level, B/D/F/M on the lower B4 level) and two mezzanine levels, one for the fare control and the other is for connecting between platform levels. I have sometimes thought of Greenpoint as "far" but a jaunt from Midtown via Court Square delivers impressive metrics when compared to the more obvious (to me) Williamsburg route. You get two great tastes here, the "classic" subway look of the G and E and the outdoor views of the 7.

This station features beautiful old tile work on the walls and on the platform floors. Very different from most of the other MTA stations. There is even a picture box here with city scenes that looks like it was a long time ago art installation. Other than that it's pretty empty later at night and can give off a creepy vibe if alone. I noticed the safety mirror has also been removed on the stairwells.

Franklin Street is an old MTA station that's cool to look around. It just is a station of course…read more Sure there's not that much. Cold or hot. The trains come fairly often. Has cool tiles and stuff like most older stations do. It serves the 1 Train. This is kind of a confusing place if you don't know the correct way. Be sure you enter on the correct side of the street. There's no crossover inside so it means you would have to go back out and go across the street and pay there. If you have an unlimited MetroCard, the mistake doesn't hurt. Pay attention to the sides of the street. They take advantage of people who don't know so they squeeze more money from these victims.

This is pretty clean for the most part. Clean considering how busy it gets. It serves the E, M, and R Trains. There's a mural of the skyline on the wall. It's by far the most interesting thing here. The station gets so busy in the morning. It's hard to get onto a train because they're all full. This is a great example of the fun you can have in a subway. It has received a few technological advances. New timers are pretty accurate. The platform is much improved but it still gets pretty busy at times.

This 72nd subway station at Central Park West, serviced in the daytime by B & C trains and A at…read morenight, contains etherial artwork created by Yoko Ono. Beneath her home at The Dakota, these wonderful 2018 underground "SKY" mosaics present calming blue skies with puffs of soft clouds taken from her photos and incorporate handwritten thought-provoking words that tie into her own work as an artist and also connect with the messages of John Lennon, her late husband. They are the perfect imagery to stop and reflect. In addition to the mosaics, you'll notice digital signage and other renovations also made in 2018. Nevertheless, the MTA SHAMEFULLY DID NOT INSTALL ANY ELEVATORS - OUTRAGEOUS, considering that this station abuts Central Park! People who cannot easily navigate the stairs, such as with strollers, carriages, or wheelchairs cannot easily use this subway station - especially that extra set to reach the lower Downtown platform!!!

Access to Upper West Side in Manhattan is 72nd Street, IND Eighth Avenue Line where this station…read moreserves the B and C trains. Indeed, I agree with fellow Yelper Marianne W. as I also had to search this station in my Yelp mobile application for a check-in. The platforms have the original artisan mosaic name tablets written "72ND ST." in white sans-serif lettering on a midnight blue background and black border, as well as small "72" tile captions in white numbering. There are also directional signage with arrows "DOWNTOWN" which I admire, appreciate and value artisan skilled trade tile setter when the MTA NYC subway system was built. There are wooden benches available. This station is not ADA accessible. This station contains two underground basement levels including a mezzanine level. The mezzanine level contain fare control area, station agent booth, MetroCard and OMNY machines. The station facade contain a green globe indicating a 24/7 hour token booth with a station agent for access to the station. The 72nd Street is the closest station to both the Dakota apartment building (which is immediately outside the station) and the Strawberry Fields memorial in Central Park.
