The bent table and chained curtains are things you can imagine in your house. It's a small exhibit but plenty to look at and fun tactile works are fun for those you like interacting with art. Attached is a cafe with a buffet on one side and cafe on the other. Food was decent if you're hungry and not too selective. The art store had plenty of souvenirs that looked fun to collect or give as gifts!

I went on the first Tuesday of the month which meant admission was free and they don't close till 9pm! Their normal hours are Tuesday to Sunday 9am-5pm. I was honestly expecting this place to be packed especially if you don't have to pay for admission - not that the tickets are expensive. It's 24 Brazilian Reais which is about $4.50, half price for students, low-income youth, seniors, and retirees. Children 7 and under can come in for free. I've been to futbol museums in Spain, Germany, FIFA Museum in Switzerland, etc and this museum seems underwhelming compared to the places I've been to. But remember, this is a museum focusing on Brazilian futebol only. Most, if not all, of the information are in Portuguese. But there are pictures/ graphics that will help you understand what is written. Or just take a picture and translate on your phone. It's visually interesting. It's not just pictures and memorabilia and next to them are labels you have to read and be bored by. You'll see the greatest jogador de futebol brasileiro like Marta and Pele. Nelson Rodrigues, a playwright, was credited for "inventing" Brazilian futebol. But it's Charles Miller who brought futebol to Brazil and considered the "father of Brazilian futebol". The street the stadium/ museum is on was named after him. There's a gift shop where you can get souvenirs like kits, shirts, keychains, toys, scarves, mugs, tumblers, water bottles, soccer balls, etc. The kits include Brazilian teams, Brazilian national team, Germany, Italy, and Portugal. There's a cafe should you need a snack or a drink before/ after your tour of the museum. Make sure you get your ticket online even if you're coming in for free. You walk straight to the turnstiles skipping the ticketing office line.

Throughout the park there are tracks and walkways and there's a nice lake in the center. The only downside, and this is a major disappointment, is that there might be looters and criminals after sunset, so pay attention to your surroundings! Our stroll through the park got us hungry, so we decided to find a nearby restaurant. We stumbled upon this place with nice open seating, so we decided to stay for lunch. It's actually within the park on the southwest corner, but I couldn't find it on Yelp. Jardim Churrascada is the name of the restaurant, and it was my first time trying Brazilian biro-biro rice - their version of fried rice - and it was delicious! It pairs well with any type of meat. With the perfect weather, we had a really lovely brunch. São Paulo is a nice city and has so much potential to become one of the world's top megacities if only the government were less corrupt and were more proactive in developing and fine tuning the city's infrastructures.

I was there for the 'Picasso - Savant Hand, Savage Eye' exposition - on the very day it opened, buying tickets online was a breeze and R$ 12 paid was really a steal. I really think that all these galleries should charge in order to maintain the space. The Picasso exposition was well organised with 2 separate spaces showcasing several artworks of Picasso that includes paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints throughout his life. Also there are several photographs of the Spanish Master. To add, there is a film on the 'making of' Picasso's most famous work of art 'Guernica'. The entire space and ambience is really pleasant, there is a sense of calm in the building and although photographs are allowed indoors, it doesn't really hamper the movement of the audience. There are several security personnel close to the art to ensure that you don't really get too close. Also there is a permanent space indoors with artworks by Tomie Ohtake - at the time I went there were 7-8 works of art, I'm not sure whether the artwork changes according to a theme - but for sure its a permanent space dedicated to the patron of the institute. Besides the space for exhibitions, the institute also houses a restaurant, book shop and other spaces for education and lectures. This is a great space and I would return several time for other exhibitions.

During that first visit, in the pre-riot days of Dilma's presidency, Avenida Paulista was the main thoroughfare in a massive city. The thing that stuck out for me nearly 10 years ago was the number of orelhões and how many were styled uniquely. One, particularly dug had knitting around it's pole. Other than that, it was a very hot summer's day, snapping photos and eventually forgetting most of what I saw. But my last visit, on a drizzly, late August Sunday was amazing. I could not stop soaking of the effortless street styles of Young Brazil. I felt like I was scrolling through the 'Gram watching folks stunt. But I wasn't, I was just weaving through life in São Paulo. There was an all women Samba band playing by the library, there were countless Queer couples holding hands or arm-in-arm. This time, I took only one picture because I knew what I was experiencing was unforgettable. Most memorial was the conversation in Portuguese of course, with Transgender political activist over our mutual "adoration" of Prince Rogers Nelson, all due peace and blessings be upon his beautiful soul. Coming from the U.S. I feel like my last visit to Avenida Paulista helped my view of the world to develop further. U.S. dialog often presents Main Street and Wall Street as the two poles. I like that dichotomy, its catchy but what about "Pennsylvania Avenue" as it is often referred to as outside of D.C. and Pennsylvania Avenue SE. What about the juxtaposition between Times Square and North Avenue in Baltimore, U.S.A.? I'm just working through it, myself. But all the hues of Brown, the vacant mansion right by the park, across from the glittering buildings, the weed in the air--everything which I was privy to, not as a spectator but as a welcome guest. I am giving Avenida Paulista 5 Stars--easy. I do this well aware that you, the reader, may not feel what I felt. The point is, I don't know if I would feel the same way again, there, but somewhere in the world, in the future, I will.

This avenue has more in common with Wall Street. It is mostly made of office buildings of financial and political orgnaizations. There is some shopping to be found here, but this is a place where you'll mainly see locals in business attire. It is still an impressive looking street with all of the skyscrapers that line it. And one place that really stands out architecturally and is worth a visit is the Sao Paulo Museum of Art. It is only 1.7 miles and I found it plesant to walk to the whole length to experience the sights and sounds of this huge city.
