First time dog owner here and I admittedly had no idea what I was doing. I have a 8 month old pitbull mastiff. Today during a busy work from home day my dog decided to splash in muddy puddles and he was also in need of a nail trim. I called ahead of time to check the hours of availability and when I told them my dogs breed they were very knowledgeable about how living pit bulls are. This put be at ease. I apprehensively (because my dog is just a puppy and gets hyper in public) came in mid-afternoon and was greeted by the most pleasant and understanding employees. The owner was amazing. I honestly was so grateful for her help. She showed me how to use the washing components and even helped me lift my big puppy dog into the bath. I was checked on and helped multiple times and offered various shampoos for my use. I was overwhelmed but she was always within earshot for help. My puppy never has had his nails trimmed and it surprisingly went smooth all because of her experience and method. I was so embarrassed because my puppy was the most obnoxious of the quiet dogs getting services but they never ever made me feel bad. They loved on my dog and gave him many treats. I apologized for his peeing inside and getting his dirty paws on your sweatshirt. THANK YOU! Highly recommend this place!

On the ride home from the wash lol.

Love this place. Friendly staff and reasonably priced. Has a tub in separate gated area that makes it super easy to wash two dogs. Also has lift that goes up and down so dog can walk in then raise so you don't have to lean over. This is the main reason I go here.....I can't lift 75 pound golden retrievers. I bring my own shampoo because I like the whitening concentrate so can't comment on that!

The owner gave my boy some love after he got his nails clipped. He was totally happy.

Muddy paws went above and beyond to help me get my nervous Great Dane's nails clipped. They worked with him until he was comfortable. They also had special equipment to make sure he was comfortable with the nail trim. I recommend them to everyone.

    Just got back from bath

I have two big Rottweilers that we brought in for the first time. The owner was in and she was super sweet and helpful. They have a fenced off wash area so that i could have both of them in the area while washing. Deff will be back! Thank you.

All done after wash & blow dry.

Wow, what a place!…read more The folks behind the counter were so pleasant and understanding, and really cared for our dog! Their work is incredible! They tailor to your specific request, but also incorporate the breed standard. Nash, our doodle, has not looked better than when he finished here. They did some scissor work, and that really set this grooming appointment apart for the others he's had. Pricing is fair, I'd say. Since he was manually "clipped" or scissored, there was a slight up charge. Paid a little over $100 with tip. Oh, and they're quite punctual, and give a good estimate of the time they'll hold your pet. Overall, great place!

Things…read moretend to turn out looking off and we end up having to fix things on our own to the best of our ability- but not here! They have groomed our 2 coton de tulears many times at this point and every time they come out looking great! No weird long looking poodle ears like the people who like to keep the hair on the ears long, we think they end up looking silly when groomers do that. We told them we prefer shorter ears before their first groom and they have always done it without having to be asked ever since! No weird random chunks of longer hair like when groomers don't take the time to make sure everything is around the same length. A HUGE thing for us is neither have come back from Rustic Mutt with razor burn! I can't tell you how many groomers have ended up at bare minimum giving our little guy razor burn even when we warn them he is prone to it. I've even had to pay for urgent vet appointments they've gotten razor burn from other groomers so bad but never here. Our poor boy used to come home from grooming, appointments, totally miserable and would run from carpet to carpeted area and sit down to try to not feel that irritation on his skin. It was awful and no matter how many times I tried to make sure they were careful , it would always result in razor burn. When we moved here I really wasn't looking forward to finding a groomer again because it's hard to find one I trust because of this. Rustic Mutt put me at ease and the people have been very nice. I always appreciate the option to text them as well as I'm not great at keeping up with the phone sometimes. We went through a really stressful, prolonged time in our lives recently and when we were away almost all the time and when we were local it was busy. I was diagnosed with a very painful disease that has no cure, several surgeries, several rounds of IVF, I could go on. This resulted in my husband and my dogs needing to travel all the time, living in hotels for months while getting care and treatment and some of the surgeries. Since it was such a frenetic time we weren't able to get them in for a regularly timed groom and with all the walking and no access to regular bathing for them they ended up quite matted and dirty by the time we were able to get them in for an appointment. I really did try to brush them and keep up as best I could but at a certain point with them not shedding and their hair getting so long I'm ashamed to say I let it get away from me. They went to such great lengths to cut their hair and not give them razor burn, not shave them all the way down, and they left some of the matts on the counter to show us what they had cut off and how bad the matting had gotten. Contrary to what people might assume I was appreciated of the gentle visual chiding, it shows me they care for the animals. There are only 2 reasons I can't give them the 5th star and it is this: 1) as far as I'm aware they still choose to go off of verbal confirmation that an animal has been receiving their vaccinations & such. Almost every other groomer I've ever worked with (and I've had dogs all my life) required confirmation from an animal's veterinarian that they are up to date and while it's a pain in the butt to constantly keep that updated it also makes me feel safer knowing all the other animals they will be around in the establishment are up to date as well. Verbal confirmation is great but unfortunately I'm sure it's easy for some people to lie. I had a problem once when my dogs were around dogs that weren't up to date and it resulted in one of my dogs being hospitalized, a very heart wrenching experience and expensive mistake that could've been avoided. Just to be clear this didn't happen at Rustic Mutt but a previous place, I'm just explaining why the worry had relevance to me. 2) you generally have to schedule pretty far in advance in my experience to get in generally, especially in the summer, which I understand but unfortunately there are times where you really just need to get your dog in and can't wait several months. I wish that they would/were able to hire more people, even just for bathing services so during the times I can't bathe them regularly it would be great if I could rely on them for that.

All the current active staff working at this specific location have demonstrated & proven how extremely capable & exhaustively knowledgeable as trainers, dog behavior specialists, groomers, etc. They have exceedingly created a trustworthy controlled environment setting that makes me reassuringly safe to entrust the safety & wellbeing of my 4-legged son. They have gone above & beyond for my puppy & I could not praise/thank them enough for their time, energy & effort to nurture my puppy's confidence & needs. Including assessing & addressing his trauma triggers being bullied as the "runt" of his litter, that occurred prior to his rescue. I am thoroughly enthralled with their most adorable & transparently informative daily report cards that are released after their daycare reservation. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to cultivate & nurture their doggo-puppers development & overall wellbeing (with a heaping side of well deserved spoiled treatment)! Will definitely be a continuing member, as long as they will have Beemo & I, after we officially move to the PNW.

We are so happy and very proud of our dog's progress and have so much to thank Taylor for. Folks send their dogs to board and train programs for many reasons. For us, we wanted support honing previously learned skills, learning recall, and curbing a few unwanted behaviors such as excitedly lunging and jumping at people, fence fighting, and barking. We were nervous about so many things. What would we do without our boy for three weeks? Would his sweet and playful personality be the same when he returned? Could we stick to it and reinforce his learning at the end of it all? The three weeks away were tough. But we timed it with a family vacation which helped a lot. As for the dog we picked up at the end; Ozzie is the exact same amazingly sweet and playful dog. But he is so much more confident, calm, and responsive. He honestly seems like a much happier dog. Almost like he feels and shares the pride we have in him. And with the tools and confidence it has given us, we can now give him the fulfilling life he deserves. THANK YOU, TAYLOR! We look forward to continuing this journey with you.

Then, I'd do the self-washing. My dog was traumatized by a groomer when she was young and has never recovered. She requires kindness and calm to get through it. So do I, for that matter. It's stressful because she dislikes it so much. Today, everything was different than every other visit. I was not welcomed. The first girl I talked to seemed disinterested and blandly told me she'd be right back. She sent the main groomer out who seemed completely thrown by what I was asking. I have done this very thing numerous times with a previous employee she tells me has "moved on". I can see why! The main groomer said she had to get a dog off the table and would be right back. As I waited, I realized I was about to spend money with someone who couldn't care less about me or my dog. I came home and did the trimming myself, and won't be returning. There are other self dog wash places. Life is expensive and becoming more so. I choose carefully who gets my money. I did the math, and Totally Mutts just basically told me to take my $600 a year somewhere else. You got it!
