I haven't owned a Pomeranian for very long, but I quickly learned 2 things. 1. You will have many, many people approaching you and telling you they (or their wife or sister or cousin) are dog groomers (at least once a month so far) and 2. A groomer you can trust is INVALUABLE. And I guess here is a bonus: a groomer you DOGS trust is paramount. I love our groomer here, she is always willing to answer questions about at home care and give product recommendations. She has taught me a lot about taking care of my dogs in between grooming and makes suggestions about frequency and routine that have helped so much. We also have a fearful chihuahua mix who trusts her to trim his nails and even file them so he has a perfect little pedicure every time. A walk in nail trim is only $8 and SO worth it. The amount of time and stress the nail trim saves both my dog and me is beyond worth it. Also, I YouTubed it and I'm not expressing these guys' anal glands. I'm not. I will pay. My Havanese has tough to manage hair, and Wags n Whiskers always helps me out with him when I need it. They understand my desired cut, and do their best to achieve that every time. They have puppy package that is wonderful. Every two weeks I take my puppy in to get his used to being groomed. They give him report cards letting me know how he is doing as well. So disappointed by this place! I had taken my dog to this grooming place twice now and loved it. I recommended this place to anyone who asked! And now that won't be happening. I went to take my dog in for her appointment and arrived at 2:15. They refused to take her because the lady said it was after 2:15 and that's there cut off. I totally get policy but the rude eye roll and scoff I got from this groomer was very disrespectful and just pissed me off more. I tried calling them twice on my way over to let them know I was running late and to make sure this wouldn't happen. No one answered or even listened to my voicemail. I understand it was my mistake coming late but I also was not informed about this policy until it was too late. The main thing I'm pissed about is the way they handled the situation with a rude attitude and didnt even give me any options besides rescheduling. I would have been more than happy to skip some of the services my dog was going to get just so she can get groomed because of how hot she is. But that wasn't even an option. I'm new to Battle Ground and used to paying $55 plus tip for a lion trim on my Maine Coon cat. I nearly choked when I was charged $100 at Wags N Whiskers! Then when I got home and released my cat from his carrier I was pissed! There are tufts of fur sticking out all over him...he's never had such a sloppy and amateurish groom ever! We brought our 50 pound neurotic mix of a dog in for a bath & nails clipping. She hated the experience, but that's because the room echoes from the open space of this business. An obnoxious dog was barking & it was really loud. This triggered our dog's anxiety. Unfortunately for her, we'll be taking her back because she has never been so clean in her life! Not only do my dogs look amazing but also; the prices were reasonable, my dog didn't seem scared when I picked them up which was surprising, the staff was not only super friendly but they helped me get my dogs out to the car because I had two dogs and a baby with me. I am SO disappointed by this little place. I had been taking my dogs there for years but had a couple year gap after loosing my precious furry friends. Just tried to reconnect there but they don't ever answer their phone, I have NEVER gotten a return call and they give a long list of restrictions on their messages. I went here to get my rather difficult Chi Buggy groomed! I dropped her off with a warning, telling them she's never bitten anyone but is a definite risk for fear biting. They were unfazed, took her from my hands and loved her right up. They took down my info, and politely told me that she would be needing a flea treatment so the charge would go up $5.00. The staff were polite and friendly! When it came time to pick her up, Bug was wagging her tail faster than a speeding torpedo. The owners are very nice and they're always helpful but I drive across town to go here and there is no point if they close before the posted time on the door and online. 30 minute drive with gas this high and a dog with long nails still sucks. read more
