This review really pains me to write, because I sincerely hope this physician's other patients…read morereceive better care than I did. It's not like a restaurant, where a bad experience is an inconvenience at worst. Health issues make people vulnerable, and even if it isn't a life-or-death situation, a bad doctor can cause considerable distress. Here's a rundown of my experience with this one: 1) Office staff. I know my last name is a little tricky, but I had to spell it phonetically (z as in zebra, etc etc.) 6 times, and they STILL got it wrong on my chart. My very first (and only) appointment I was kept waiting for 50 minutes. This was before I was even shown into a room & saw the nurse. Doc took another 30. 2) Doctor's listening skills. I've had migraines for 25+ years. I've been treated by other neurologists & physicians. I only made this appointment because I had concerns about some aphasia along with a temporary uptick in migraine frequency. I pretty much know at this point what works for my migraines and what doesn't, but this doc insisted I try a medication I have tried before that did not work--even though it would interfere with nursing my 2-month old infant. I agreed in the spirit of giving it (yet) another try, but overall think it a waste of time and money, and, in my case, milk. She also agreed to call in an anti-nausea medication that works great for me--more on this, below. 3) Lack of organization/follow-through. I was given orders for an MRI that had no contact info for which of the many imaging locations nearby was the correct location. Several days after my appointment, I tried to pick up my prescriptions (at a pharmacy my family always uses & never has problems with) and was told the physician had never called them in. 4) Profound disrespect and lack of compassion. At 9 am the next weekday, I contacted the office to ask about the MRI and to clear up the matter of prescriptions (the meds in question aren't any kind of pain medication, so there's absolutely no reason there should be any weirdness there). I actually happened to have a migraine at the time, and was particularly in need of the anti-nausea medication at that point. The nurse said the doc would call back "when she came in". 2 hours later, I called again. The front desk person said the doc would call me back. Another hour later, with still no call back, I went to the office to sort out the problem. The office was EMPTY. No patients in the exam rooms or waiting room & no obvious reason why it would take so long to clear up a simple but urgent matter for a patient. Still having nausea, I actually threw up in the waiting room. The doctor came to the front and I tried to explain the situation. She interrupted me again and again--to say she emailed the prescription to the pharmacy, and that I had never asked for the anti-nausea med (if the first part was true, why didn't the nurse just tell me this when I called at 9? The second part was patently false--I confirmed with her that she would call that prescription in when I left my appointment). She just kept talking over me, despite several requests that she allow me to speak. When I finally raised my own voice just to be heard, she said, "If you were really having a migraine, you couldn't be that loud", and she walked away. That last statement is the most indicative of the regard held by this physician towards her patients--which is to say, none at all. Madame Pankiewicz may have enough clinical knowledge to treat some issues, but such a dismissive reaction to being challenged or questioned is not a characteristic of someone I would trust with my health or the health of my loved ones. Seek her counsel at your own risk.

I started working in Sugar Land in 2014 and found Neurology of Sugar Land, and I have been so pleased by the service I have received. All of the staff are friendly, they remember me when I walk in, and they are always so kind. Not to mention, Dr. Pankiwiecz really has done an outstanding job. Because I have been to so many doctors for the same reason of suffering from migraines, I really felt like I had little to no chance of ever living a pain-free life. She truly listens and shows genuine concern. She was determined to work with me to rule out any triggers and determined to help guide me to a healthier life. I would absolutely recommend this doctor to any one who needs someone to listen to their personal story, their health struggles, and who will determine a solution and plan forward tailored to you and your needs. I finally found a doctor who is willing to work with me through this process rather than just stick me on medication and continually up my dosage. I am so thankful I found Neurology of Sugar Land.

I have to get my MRI and I have to ask the nurse practitioner about it, then she realized they weee supposed to send me to get one! And that how they operate for every single thing. Always wrong! Always back and forth! They have a gentleman that answers the phone, and prevents you to talk to them! He also looks like he is in charge! He had the audacity to tell me that they weren't sending my medicine referral to the pharmacy because insurance wasn't paying for it! I've told him that was nonsense and none of their business, their business is to send the referral to the pharmacy to get my treatment! I've told him you shouldn't care who pays for the medicines! That's my problem! You just have to provide the prescriptions! That was the most outrageous and disgusting thing to say ever! Halting medicines because they think I can't afford them to pay them? This kind of practice should be out of business

Fast forward a couple of months and it wasn't getting any better. After playing doctor on the internet, I deduced that it was my sciatica. It wasn't going away on its own, so I knew I needed professional help. A coworker told me about this place and said he even got a groupon for his first visit. So I purchased the groupon and went for my appointment. The groupon included a consultation, exam and massage. Now I know that some people swear by chiropractors and others think they're quacks, but I've never been to one before and I really had no opinion one way or the other. After my appointment, I decided to give the treatments a try. I was desperate for relief. My treatment plan included two months of visits, going three times a week. After that, I was x-rayed to check my progress. Then I was put on a schedule of two more months, going twice a week. Then I was x-rayed again to check my progress. At that time, I had gotten such great results and my pain was completely gone, so I decided to stick with it. I also have a couple of herniated discs and I had been relying heavily on Advil to relieve the ache. My chiropractic care has really helped with my herniated disc discomfort and cut down on my Advil consumption. Overall, I have been very pleased with my care and results. While I'm sure there may be some quacks out there, this place is not one of them!

Caring doctor that gave me my life back!…read more When I met Dr. Loftus I had already seen three neurologists before. They all gave me the same exact treatment regimens and then when I failed the answer was always the same "Just try to learn to live with your migraines". A nurse friend of mine raved about Dr.Loftus. At this point I was about seven years into chronic daily migraine. My life revolved around them. I didn't drive because I was scared I would have a migraine attack and not be able to see. If I did go out I had to make sure I had medication with me just in case. I knew to be in bed at a certain time before the migraines would hit. When I got to Dr.Loftus I was hopeful at the fact he didn't seem phased by the previous medications not working or anything the previous doctors had said. He is always on top of his research and knows everything about the newest migraine options. He always had a plan regarding medications and never gave up on me or never referred me elsewhere. He also would always find ways for me to save on super expensive migraine meds. Once he even walked over to the pharmacy with me and got them to honor a coupon code! It took a long time but I finally got to a place where I never thought I would be. I figured at best maybe I could have a migraine four days a week that wasn't excruciatingly painful. Thanks to Dr. Loftus's persistence and care I got much better than that. Currently I have a headache maybe once or twice a week and it's bearable. I can drive without worrying and it's really nice to not have to carry migraine meds with me anymore. I am grateful to have Dr. Loftus's care and I would happily recommend him to any fellow migraine sufferer.

My roommate found me seizing on the floor with blood pouring out of my mouth. It had been over a year and a half, and the doctor said he would not see me because I did not see him regularly. This shows a lack of care for patients, and I am disappointed and distressed when really all I needed was help from my doctor.
