On clothes racks, they have outfits (eg, a Jumper/Shirt combo or Coat/Jumper/Shirt combo) to exhibition how good they look, and the individual constituents of these outfits are found folded up in immaculate piles on various counters around the shop. I found the staff unconciously intimidating though.. following me around and eyeing me carefully, they didn't ask if I needed assistance but made me feel like I was being chaperoned. You can expect to pay from £200-300 on a good outfit so this is definitely limiting their clientele but hey, their attitudes can be justifiable.. maybe they can smell a penny pincher like me....

The merchandise is worth less than the price. I still like this store though and I would shop here regardless because I like the atmosphere.

I buy a new design of oil cloth almost every year as they make perfect table covers for kitchens and outdoor dining. The designs are girlie without too being too kitsch or too sickly. I have discovered many designs which reminded me of my grandmother's kitchen - nice to unearth them for another generation. If you have the choice I would recommend visiting the shop during the week rather than on Saturdays when the whole area is teaming with tourists.

I preferred the quaintness of the location in Clarendon Cross compared to that of Portobello Road (a little too busy for me), but nonetheless it's only roughly a 10 min walk from Notting Hill Gate Underground Station, and along the way you pass some pretty pastel coloured houses and small vintage clothing shops. On entering the shop, they sell everything from homeware, childrens clothing, accessories and women's clothing downstairs.

Finally, I saw past the squareness of it all on an early June day, and made my way in to the quaint boutique. Here's the skinny -- everything is a bit boxy. It's not quite as "shoreditch" as the window displays would have you believe, though. The upside to this particular cut and style is that it fits a wider range of people (pun intended? no). For me though personally, not very flattering so I skipped on most of the items I adored on the racks. but did end up with one very lovely summery dress that will be very nice for work, chiming in at £78. It's flowy, not boxy -- big difference! However ACCESSORIES. This is where it's at in the Relax Garden, my dears. Earrings, necklaces, scarves, sunglasses...all very inexpensive. I snagged a gorgeous pair of triangle earrings, a summer scarf, a headband (we'll see how that goes) and was truly delighted at the options. It's a very small shop. The women are friendly and somewhat over involved in the experience. I am sure they are happy to help, but I do prefer a bit more space. I am sure if I had just told them that they would've left me to it. They've been open 10 years. They are doing something right! The clothes are well made and not nearly as expensive as I had anticipated. If you are shopping in or around Shoreditch High Street, make sure to give this one a go, it'll be worth it for the accessories and perhaps you are the perfect person for that square fit boxy look -- then it's a goldmine.

Everyone knows that Japanese people are unquestionably the best dressers in the world, so Japanese designers are generally a safe bet. I like this store because it looks very expensive, but isn't. They stock an interesting selection of garment designs in great colours and fabrics. They also have some beautiful leather bags and very cool jewellery. My favourite piece in the shop this season is a bright orange, button up jersey vest. Every time I have been in here the staff have been friendly and welcoming, happy to give what seem like genuine opinions on the outfits I choose and in return, I usually pick something temporarily wardrobe and life changing for about £50. It's around the same price as Topshop but with the added bonus of knowing you probably won't walk into a party wearing the same dress as everybody else.
