This review is for Yanks who stumble into Sligo and happen to pass by Mr. Mullaney's store. What a place! Top quality clothing at, admittedly, top quality pricing, but the experience is well worth it. They know their products and they know and stock, only, the best. Best of all, John Mullaney, seems to know as much Irish-American history as anyone in Ireland and is happy to share his knowledge with his customers. I will return to the Mullaney Brothers, most probably via their internet site, to add to my small collection of Irish woolens, most of which are made from fairly local wool. There are hardly any top notch, independent clothiers left in the states anymore and a visit to Mullaney Brothers is not to be missed when in Sligo. This place is the real deal. Best quality products both machine and man made, whether clothes, linens, blankets. They have Irish trinkets in the front of the store too, some that I didn't see anywhere else. Make sure to have Mr. Mullaney himself fit you. A master. read more

This is just to second the previous review, though admittedly we stumbled into Mullaney's the year before. What a pleasure to meet and be assisted by a first rate crew! And my Magee green jacket, seemingly a bit pricey, should be going strong when it gets passed on to our grandson. When you extend the price on a good coat over fifty plus years, it's very reasonable. I love this store. Where else can you find a hand woven tweed coat signed by the person who wove it and where in Ireland it came from. You can feel the difference in the gorgeous hand knit Irish sweaters. The sweaters are also signed by the person that knit them and the location in Ireland. What pride in making this clothing. We did leave the store with our pockets a little lighter but the quality is unsurpassed. Thank you Mullaney Brothers for understanding that good quality clothing still matters! Also, John Mullaney you are an Irish treasure. I will continue my shopping on line but if you are ever in Sligo don't miss this experience. read more
