I attended a wedding in this hotel recently so I haven't stayed here as a guest or eaten in the restaurant (though I've sampled the food).
Overall a really nice place. The views are stunning, and it's just a short walk downhill to the magnificent 'loop', a walk I would recommend to all.
The wedding preparations by the staff were fantastic, some really nice little touches.
The food was really good, I'd shy away from saying 'fantastic' as I found my beef a bit tough, the aul jaw was hurting, and the desserts weren't my thing.
Bar wise, we drank in the Park Inn bar the night before and they accommodated a large number of people and even provided entertainment in the form of two local lads with a guitar and a fiddle. Unfortunately they were eventually drowned out by the din.
I heard, earwigging, that the rooms were good, nothing crazy fancy considering the price, it seems you're paying for location more than anything.
Overall really nice and if I had the chance I'd go again, mainly for the view! read more
