After a July 4th consultation, I hired her to handle my parenting plan matter (not my protection order, though she gave advice on that too). What followed was one of the worst professional experiences I've ever had. Here are the main issues: Never in court - She never once appeared in person, only via Zoom. We paid her the same as anyone else, yet she didn't show up physically. Unprofessional appearance - On Zoom, she dressed in casual T-shirts, not courtroom-appropriate attire. Paralegal overseas - The paralegal assigned to our case (Bernard) was working permanently out of the country. This made direct communication about our case nearly impossible. Bad legal advice & dishonesty - She advised my child to drop a protection order to "help" with a 50/50 parenting plan, then denied ever giving that advice in court. This damaged our case. Unprepared in court - Judges were visibly frustrated with her lack of preparation and awareness of required next steps. Communication failures - She ignored the client portal (where we receive notifications) and instead sent critical updates by regular email, which caused us to miss deadlines and hearings. Documents were submitted incorrectly and late, resulting in continuances, sanctions, and extra costs we had to pay ($700). Recent failure - For a GAL hearing, financial documents we sent in late August were submitted at the last minute. She failed to consult us on which GAL we preferred, leaving us blindsided in court. We left court feeling defeated every single time. Yesterday's hearing was the final straw--we fired her immediately. Hiring an attorney is stressful enough; you need someone professional, prepared, and communicative. Chi Nguyen was none of these. Do not hire her. I only gave 1 star because Yelp wouldn't let me submit my review without doing it.

One day the DOL sends me a notice that my drivers license has been suspended because of failure to notice the court of my options. Mind you, this is something that is completely done by the lawyer. I message Chi, and she started to blame the court about how ridiculous they were, but in reality she should've kept status on my case. It's clear Chi treats each case as a $$ bag and doesn't care to check up on the status of her clients cases. As a result, this lead my insurance going up because Chi was unable to keep up with my case. Why would I go to a lawyer just to have my insurance go up....... and having to deal with that.??? I was not upset that he couldn't take my case. I work in the legal field and understand how the process works. I reached out due to the complicated L&I case I have been navigating for over 2 years, as I have received extreme mistreatment and been on the receiving end of unethical behavior throughout my whole L&I experience. I was referred to Causey Wright by a smaller firm and expected to be given a consultation and to share my side of the story. Arlene asked to review the claim file but did not give me the opportunity to share the details of my experience & injury. I waited over a week for our scheduled phone meeting to discuss my case after she reviewed the file. She did not call at the scheduled time, and once I called into the firm, I was told she was expecting me to call (which is untrue, as she had told me previously she would call me and I sent two emails with the correct phone number confirming that she would call at 11 on the day we had discussed). She eventually did call 35 minutes after our appointment time, and shared that she did not have her notes because they were on a "home computer" and not with her at the office (in addition to blaming me for the miscommunication). I find it extremely unprofessional to come to a scheduled conference so unprepared, and it is a violation of my trust to know she has my file on a computer at her home rather than the office. She went on to say that she reviewed my claim and found me "non-compliant" and began to bring up the letters sent to me by L&I (the very letters I am seeking legal help to dispute). It is clear to me after speaking with Arlene that she has no interest in advocating for the client, but rather is on the side of the insurance company, who have acted fraudulently since the beginning of my case. Arlene's communication towards me was cruel & made it clear that she is not interested in the truth of the story. I would hope that someone who has the best interests in mind of the client would take time to listen to the issues at hand, and not parrot the exact language L&I has used to paint me in a negative light. She brought up issues that have been long settled, and did not seem to care about the actual issues we are disputing. I came with very specific needs in mind, but she would not listen to what I had to say, leaving me frustrated and triggered, as my L&I claim has been an ongoing trauma that I cannot escape. If you are an injured worker seeking justice from L&I, do NOT use Causey Wright to represent you - they clearly represent the insurance company, and are not on the side of the injured party. Anyone navigating an L&I case knows that L&I will use many tactics to kick individuals off their benefits and deny them the care they need. If I didn't know better, I would think Arlene works for L&I, rather than a law firm offering representation to injured workers. During our conversation, I redirected her multiple times to the actual issues I need help with, and was immediately shut down and told I was argumentative. I am SO disappointed that there are people like Arlene working in this field, and discouraged to know that such a large law firm is so unscrupulous and unjust in their review of L&I cases. Her behavior towards me was shocking and it became incredibly clear to me that this law firm is corrupt and extremely unethical in presenting themselves as advocates for the injured party.
