I wasn't sure what to expect. I will say it's better than I anticipated…read more The set up seems pretty efficient really. You land and enter on one side of the airport and arrive, enter, and depart from the other. This makes things pretty easy for customs and such. There are three terminals now and another one is being constructed as I type this review. Our driver told us all about it on the way back. Very chatty dude! I had been warned about all of the predatory tactics by the taxi and ride folks outside so I was prepared and not bothered by them. If you come here, take note of this. You can and will get scammed if you allow yourself to become a victim. Luckily we had prearranged the rides and were looking for very specific attire as well as signs for us to find. Just note this as others have said over and over. I will say it again for those in the back! There are tons of people waiting out front trying to get you to use their services. Those services vary a great deal in scammy/usefulness/end up dead in a ditch. Don't do the last one. No Bueno. My departure was interesting as we did not know what gate we were going to until about 10 minutes before boarding. Luckily the place is not that big so it was not an issue. We got there a couple hours early when we were leaving. There is plenty to do and lots to see while here. Have no fear! Consumerism is alive and well in Cancun Mexico! The whole place runs on it! Margaritaville is always a good time if you partake in the libations. They have a Guy Firebird or whatever there too. The duty free is only a deal because of reduced taxation. I found the items to be slightly higher than normal retail, at least for liquor. All in all it did what I needed it to do. Fly in, fly out, not get searched on the way in, or the way out. Not sure if I will come back to Cancun or not. I may have had my fill. We will see if I can score another 100% paid vacation next year for work! If so, I will see you again Amigos!! If not, it will be ok! ;) '26 - 51

Get your bags and straight out. Do not stop in the middle hallway. There are so many people looking to get you to purchase anything under the sun. Just don't stop to talk to anyone before you exit. Baggage claim was good. We probably waited about 20/30 minutes. Leaving Cancun... Porters were available if you need them upon arriving to the airport. (Please tip them if you use them) He took care of our baggage until we got to the counter. Once inside the airport was easy to find your airline and on this occasion southwest had plenty of agents checking passengers and the process was smooth and heading to TSA screening was also a breeze. We had no lines. We traveled on a weekday (Wednesday) about 10:30am this airport is pretty modern and have plenty places to eat and shop. There is no announcements or flights status. You need to check the screen or your phone for updates/change. Your flight will appear on the screen within one hour from boarding. So this makes the airport pretty quiet compared to the USA airports. Bathroom was clean and had somebody attending the bathroom. The gates are good size and chairs are comfortable! As on any airport, buying water or any snacks are very pricey. Highly recommend this airport for traveling to/from Cancun,MX.

Cancun Airport gets the job done, but for the amount of money and people moving through this place,…read moreit definitely feels like it could use some improvements. The first thing you notice is how long the walk is after getting off the plane. The hallway seems to go on forever, so hopefully you do not need a restroom right away because it is a trek. Customs itself was surprisingly easy. We scanned our passports and got through pretty quickly, although the machines seemed pretty finicky and took a few tries for some people. The biggest downside is what happens after customs. The second you walk through, it turns into nonstop sales pitches. First, you go through duty free where it feels like every few feet someone is trying to stop you to buy something. Then after clearing customs and declarations, you walk into another area packed with people trying to sell tours, hotels, transportation, and excursions. Finally, once you make it outside, you are greeted by what feels like a thousand taxi and transportation companies all trying to get your attention. The airport itself is functional and the customs process was efficient, but it can feel overwhelming and chaotic once you leave the secure area. Just be prepared to politely say no a lot.

Personally, I always pick Air Margaritaville because the service is dependable and the food is decent. There is also a Bubba Gump's and more. There are places to buy snacks for your flight. There are "duty free" mega stores with everything you can think of. There is a shoe store! There is even a Ray-Ban store with crazy prices (think Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer sunglasses Gen 1 for $700 when Sunglasses Hut USA retails them for under $299). There are lots of Mexican souvenir shops, but also with crazy prices. Tshirts were in the $32-$42 range. Even fridge magnets are $7+. There is ALWAYS a line for restrooms. Cleanliness varies by location. Mera Business Lounge sucks. Always a line - unless you are paying. If you are using your credit card perk for entry, they won't have a place for you. Paying $35? Go right in! Pretty much everything here closes between 7-8pm. If your flight is delayed or later than 8pm, there is no place to get food or drinks. Plan accordingly.

The price was exactly what I saw online, no hidden fees. Perfect. The car, however, was not. It was an absolute beater. Scratches, dents, and missing parts all over. Then I'm told if scratches/dents happen I have to call it in. There would literally be no way for me to know because it was covered in them. The engine was loud but the car worked, so off we went. I wanted to plug in my phone to see the directions but there was no spot to plug in my phone and no display. Not a big deal, my husband was my copilot. Two days after arrival we took the car out exploring. All went well. The next day I had planned to go to a cenote with a friend but the car was dead. Called the number twice. No answer. Messaged in. 30 minutes later I get a call back. They would send someone from a satellite office and he should be there within 20 minutes. He tried charging the car, no luck. He gave me the car he had, which was much nicer. Off we went to the cenote! Three days later we were ready to head back to the airport and it had a flat. There was a screw in the tire. The resort filled it up and we were on our way. When we returned the car the lady told a guy to check the tires and specifically pointed to the one that had the screw, as if she already knew. I'm thinking it was there when the car was delivered to us. The whole thing just felt shady. The price for a week was just over $200 with all the insurance, which is great, but I won't rent from them again.

It's a red flag when the company's representatives aren't even allowed in the main area where other rental car representatives are located. We were told that a representative would be waiting for us with our name on a board, but it took half an hour for us to finally find them by sheer luck. An unmarked minivan took us to a remote lot that looked more like a car wash than a rental office. Finally, we got an agent to assist us with the paperwork. Unfortunately, she couldn't finish the process because she had to leave. We had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes for another representative to help finalize the rental. At the last minute, the agent changed the original car, which was a Nissan, to a Kia. We inspected the car, and the hubcap and rim on the front passenger side had a lot of scratches. The agent that did the initial walk around, marked on the inspection form indicating that the entire tire was scratched. Because we had purchased full insurance, the agent assured us that everything was fine. However, when we returned the vehicle, another agent inspected it and blamed me for the damage. I showed him the inspection sheet, which had all the markings that matched this vehicle. He claimed that the information on the top of the sheet referred to a different vehicle, so it was invalid. After arguing back and forth, he suggested that we take the shuttle van back to the airport and that there would be no additional charges. This is where I advise you to be cautious. If you allow them to charge anything on your card, make sure to block it afterward. This is a group of unethical individuals who don't care about consequences. I will never rent from them ever again. I was told that there would be no additional charges to my card, but as soon as we left, they went ahead and made additional charges. Fortunately, we live in the US, and our credit card doesn't hold us liable for fraudulent charges. Don't trust this unethical group with your credit cards. If you're considering renting a car, I strongly advise you to avoid this untrustworthy rental agencies, Easy Way Rent a car, this company is notorious for exploiting customers and taking advantage of them in every possible way. The agent who initially assisted us mentioned that the agency purchases the most economical $5,000 vehicles and charges customers insurance for a $10,000 car. She assured us that there was nothing to worry about because we had full insurance coverage, which would cover everything. I strongly advise you to exercise extreme caution and not trust anything they say. If you decide to do business with this unethical company, make sure to block your card after the initial charge. They are a group of thieves who will do anything to get their hands on your money. In short, you're dealing with Dr. Jacqueline, Mr. Hyde.
