I had a very pleasant experience with Lavina and Bollywood Dance fitness. Getting in touch with her was easy for booking our friends milestone bday party. She was prompt in replying and booking was made super easy. On the D day Lavina was there on time, had a awesome photo booth for us and the studio was just ready for celebration( this was a surprise touch to the booking). The selection of songs was great, perfect for a bday party. We had an awesome time dancing to her tunes, with lots of fun and laughter. Lavina is super energetic, makes everyone feel a part of the group, teaches you the steps patiently. I would highly recommend having her for your next group event. Our whole girls group loved it , specially the bday girl who loves dancing. Lavina made sure we get enough calories burned for us to enjoy the bday dinner later.

With a range of levels from…read moreintroductory basics to advanced, and many styles and instructors to choose from, you will find a teacher for you. As with any group class, give yourself some space to try a few different teachers until you find the one(s) you enjoy the most! The owner, Shawn, and desk staff are friendly and helpful; always happy to answer questions about levels, styles, and instructors. My go to is Arianna Hyatt. She teaches well rounded true to level classes (read the class description and know thyself). She motivates and encourages dancers to meet their goals, whether that is fun, fitness, training for an audition, getting back to dance after a hiatus, or perhaps all of the above. She provides a supportive environment while offering technique, structure, and a little challenge - if that is what you're after. The community she's cultivated within every class is palpable. If you're a beginning/intermediate or advanced level dancer, looking for ballet, broadway, or tap, definitely check the schedule for her. (Double check the level as she teaches a variety.) If you're on the fence, I'd say find any class that interests you at the studio and give it a try!

She was not welcoming, was late to the class, and did not give me the chance to even try tapping before she completely ignored me for the entire class session. Long story long: I've had dance training with Broadway choreographers and performers (just not in tap), and never would they be so unprofessional and rude to a newer dancer. This was my first time trying Afterhours, I had gone with a friend (with prior tap experience and classes taken at this studio) and we booked two classes, back to back. Beg/int Broadway Jazz class straight into beg/int tap. Arianna, who instructed both classes this night, arrived late and complained about the studio space we were in. Yikes. Not a great first impression as a new dancer at this studio. After this class, I put my tap shoes on and my friend quickly walked me through some basics of tap. Just with a side-eye from the corner of the room, she came up to me and said "this is not the space for you, I will go get you your money back before you take this class. I will let you stay, but this is not the class for you." Understandable, but after SO GRACIOUSLY!!!! allowing me be in the room with only 5 other dancers, she ignored me the entire class, despite me catching onto and being able to pick up what she was teaching. She had condescendingly recommended another instructor at the studio, but with a tone as if the instructor was subordinate to her. The most frustrating part was that she was very slowly and deliberately helping another dancer in the room, who was also a beginner. It was rude to me and not conducive to a welcoming environment for growing artistry, whether I was refunded or not. I spoke with Shawn after the class and she mentioned knowing that Arianna is short with her words and they had a similar situation with another dancer last week. If you knew this hostile behavior is happening at your studio, how could you let that continue? She also gave an excuse of a disclaimer being on the description of the class. 1) it was hard to find 2) even if someone has/hasn't "mastered" a certain level of dance, why are you fully shutting someone out of your learning space? It is apparent in the class attendance the success, or lack of, rather, at this studio. I truly hope that no other dancer experiences what I did at Afterhours, and that this behavior from any instructor is corrected. I was given my money back and a free pass for another class at the studio, but I honestly do not trust either of those ladies that I dealt with at the establishment to recommend me any other class there.

In the decade that we have been with this amazing studio, we have always had such a wonderful experience as both a rec and a competition family. We have participated in 11 recitals and in recent years, numerous competitions. In my experience they are all run like a well-oiled machine. They have rules and processes in place primarily to keep our children safe and to ensure everything runs smoothly and to create a great experience for the hundreds (thousands?) of students and parents. If you have common sense and are a decent person, it's not hard to understand why the studio runs things the way they do. ALL of the staff and teachers are exceptional and I love having the peace of mind that my children are receiving excellent training in a loving, safe and positive environment. This studio is truly my daughter's second home and there's nowhere else we'd rather be. We are so grateful for our wonderful dance family!

On one occasion, the owner spoke with the teacher for over 10 minutes while the children were left waiting. When I pointed out that 15 minutes of class time had already passed, she responded that she was the owner and was discussing competition-related matters for another class. Those discussions could have taken place outside of class time, rather than at the expense of my children's paid lesson. She then suggested that we request a free class voucher. However, the issue is not about receiving another class--we attend at the scheduled time because that is when we are available. Scheduling an additional makeup class does not truly compensate for the lost time and requires us to make an extra trip, which is inconvenient and unnecessary.

They refunded me for the concert fee but not the $70 deposit. It would make anyone uncomfortable to not be allowed to see your 3 year old child except on camera. My child is sensitive to loud sounds and not having me there could cause her to panic. They also said she had to use a public bathroom on her own. They mentioned a lack of refunds or makeups without doctor's notes, but then when I mentioned this causing sickness spreading in class they said they just need to know in advance. I'm not sure why they would flip on this unless they were just trying to keep my money. Quite unethical.

The 9am (schedule may change) beginning ballet is best for those with prior ballet experience with adults of all ages and skill levels. For those with little to no experience, the Intro to ballet class is ideal. I have taken the classes of many teachers here and they are all fantastic. Joan especially is passionate and helps guide technique and has great attention to detail. I'm also grateful for Sara and Janessa. Hair and clothing is quite flexible. I choose to wear workout leggings and a form fitting top, and ballet class shoes (canvas or leather). Many wear classic tights and leotard, so it is a great place if you want to lean in to ballet wear (though not necessary). If you want a great ballet style bar workout class, called Ballet Barre Conditioning, Joan teaches a great one, ballet experience not needed, though some dancers take this class for strength. I believe socks are worn in this class. If you are visiting for the first time, arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out the introduction form/waiver, pay, and to potentially speak to a teacher to ask questions or introduce yourself. I signed up in April 2025 after being told one enrolled class would allow unlimited drop-ins, with 30-day makeup windows. The teachers, class variety, and student culture are genuinely excellent. The management and policies, however, are another story. Policies grew increasingly restrictive over time -- drop-ins shifted to a text-based reservation system with advance scheduling requirements, an extra $7 fee for makeups, frequent confusion, and eventual pushback. I was repeatedly pressured to enroll in more classes despite being clear about my limitations, and denied access to advanced classes without enrolling in their ballet class, even though I was enrolled in ballet elsewhere. The studio hosts bi-annual showcase performances that some of the classes participate in and the 6-8 weeks prior include rehearsals. Before this month's showcase, I requested makeups for the two prior weeks knowing they'd be rehearsal-focused rather than full instruction. I scheduled 1 makeup and for the 2nd makeup was told other classes I requested were closed -- including a class with only 1-2 students -- and asked to stay after class for a conversation. The pattern made clear this was less about following policy and more about something that was never transparently communicated. Deciding this no longer aligned, I submitted 30 days' notice to unenroll per policy. The owner immediately refunded me and told me not to return -- then in the next message said I was valued and welcome to reenroll anytime. When I received the refund, I noticed my monthly rate had increased without disclosure or receipt. You have to catch it on your credit card statement. Best for students who commit to enrollments, skip makeups, and embrace the showcase model with costume costs -- no flexibility expected. One studio has an uneven, sometimes slippery floor that raises safety concerns.
