Awesome experience, from everyone at Murphree Dental!!! I had a extremely painful tooth issue and I was not able to find a dentist near us in northern Florida who would see me quickly, but Dr. Murphree's office got me in quickly. After an assessment Dr. Murphree recommended and did a root canal on the painful tooth. Day later and 0 pain. Thank you all! read more

My 6 year old had 2 teeth break over the weekend. I took her in, Dr. Murphee decided to fill them. He put gas on her and proceeded to start drilling after about a minute, my daughter started to scream and cry because it hurt, but did he stop and give her a shot to numb her or do anything to make her comfortable? NO, she had to suffer through 2 fillings like that. He told her to hold still and open her mouth. When we were leaving, I got the date for her next appointment and she cried telling me not to make her go back to the dentist because he hurt her really bad. Now brushing her teeth she cries because her mouth hurts worse now than it did with her broken tooth. So really what I want to say is THANK YOU for ruining my daughters dentist experience. read more

History

Established in 2000.

Dr. Jim practiced law in Alabama and Florida concentrating in the area of corporate and banking law for approximately 7 years. At the urging of his father, Dr. James R. Murphree, Dr. Jim decided to return to dental school. He graduated from University of Alabama Birmingham (D.M.D.) in 2000 and entered practice with his father in Ozark that summer.

Meet the Business Owner: James M.

Since returning to Ozark, Dr. Jim has been active in the community, both civically and professionally. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ozark Rotary Club (President 2006-2007) and past member of the Ozark Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors as well as helping to resurrect the inactive Dale County Chapter of the University of Alabama Alumni Association (2009-2012). He is currently serving his second term on the City of Ozark Planning Commission and City of Ozark Downtown Revitalization Commitee. He is an active member of the Third District Dental Society (President in 2006-2007). He also is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Denistry, and the Alabama Dental Association serving on ALDA's Council of Legislation for the past 5 years. He is married to the former Amber Loyless and they have three children Jax, Aubree and Ellie Kate. They enjoy family movie nights, traveling, and Alabama Football.

Family Eye Center did not just pass him off. They schedule him to see a specialist where he found out one of the holes was leaking. If he had waited much longer he could have lost vision in that eye.
