Today I encountered someone with whom I've had less than pleasant interactions, with a name tag that I believe to have read Amadu. It was a quick stop after a long day for gas and I hadn't anticipated having to enter the store but was having an issue at the pump. I've greeted the cashiers each time I approach the register and more often than not been ignored by them. I've been spoken to in a less than pleasant manner and the validity of my I.D. Is always questioned when purchasing tobacco products. I'm aware that I may appear younger and hardly ever leave home without my license. I have no issues presenting proper identification. I don't even feel the convenience of the location from my home is worth the stop for gas or anything else solely based on the demeanor of the employees, which in my opinion is unfortunate. Overall, the staff doesn't appear to enjoy interacting with customers, answering questions or being employed here.

I stopped at the very first original Cook-Out location across the street which was busy until way after it closed. And then I moseyed down and got some gas. There are panhandlers here so look out. Even in the middle of the night when the weather is freezing. But that's okay.

I got $0.03 off as part of their fuel rewards program. By using the Upside app, I'll be getting $0.21 cent back per gallon! If you don't have the app already, you missing out!!! They have a Redbox movie station outside. There is a decent amount of parking on north sizes of the building. There are 10 pumps in total with 2 being gasoline. On the left side of the building they have an air station along with propane tanks. You could EASILY miss it. I'm not sure why they chose to put both in that area. Inside, the ATM had a sign on it stating that it had didn't have any money. They have a coffee station as well as a beverage station with slushies and foundation drinks 4 of the 8 slushie flavors were out of order. The fountain drinks are only $0.89.While standing in the middle of the store, I noticed an aroma that smelled pretty nice. It's hard to explain. It seemed like a males cologne. I was the only customer inside at the time. One staff was behind the register while another appeared to be restocking the coffee condiments. There weren't any hotdogs in the container. The breakfast food container was also empty. They have "fresh" bakery items in a container by the register. It was mostly full. There were different areas of the store that had low or out of stock. I ended up just getting a bag of chips. Check out was pretty smooth. The cashier was pretty quiet/reserved. It was $3.09 after tax. WARNING FOR WOMEN/PARENTS IN GREENSBORO…read more Please be careful around the Sheetz on Wendover 4319 W Wendover Ave, Greensboro, NC 27407 Avenue and the TJ Maxx parking lot area. 4217 W Wendover Ave, Greensboro, NC 27407 Today I experienced what I believe was a coordinated distraction scam involving multiple men and a women At Sheetz One woman approached me asking to use my phone to call for emergency/tow services while another distracted me during the interaction. While my attention was divided, unauthorized money was sent from my phone through my banking app/Zelle. The scam also involved a "Three Card Monte" style game where they encourage you to pick a card and claim they will double your money if you guess correctly. I did not participate in the game or allow them to give money to my child. After everything happened, I was informed this reportedly occurred multiple times today at Sheetz.Approaching women with children to play. Giving the children dollars What was especially alarming is that after the incident at Sheetz, the same group appeared to move to the TJ Maxx parking lot area and continued targeting other women. While there, another woman came up screaming and stated they had stolen $1,800 from her the week before. One individual was a Black male with dreads wearing multiple chains/jewelry. Another was a light-skinned male wearing a yellow worker-style safety vest. There was also a Caucasian male wearing blue shorts. Female Mexican skinny dark hair . They were seen leaving in a black sedan and a white van with the license plate WAH-- 1753 or 1810 The phone numbers used during the interaction were 336-925-3422 and 336-471-2370. They also appeared to spread themselves throughout the gas station near pumps 4-9 and pump 6. For confidential reasons, I cannot disclose all specifics involving my minor child, but I will say children were present during this interaction, which made the situation even more concerning. I truly tried to do the right thing by helping someone I believed was in need of emergency assistance, and this situation left a very sour taste in my mouth. Please do NOT hand strangers your unlocked phone, even if the story sounds urgent or believable. This was my fault . I also reported this to law enforcement, and I was informed this type of tactic is commonly associated with gambling/distraction scams. Also, to the woman who was screaming, recording, and saying she had also been scammed -- if you happen to be in this group, thank you so much for helping by recording and for calling the police. Shoutout to the Sheetz managers and TJ Maxx staff as well. Unfortunately Sheetz did not have security on duty during the daytime . Please stay alert, ladies, and keep your children close. I have already reported this to the appropriate agencies. Sharing this so other women and families stay safe.
