One of the better places to come and get gas in town, and one of my preferred stops, for all kinds of reasons. Lafayette gas is usually cheap - and this one is even cheaper than most. I'm sure we'll be back here in the future too. Moreover, it's a brand new gas station and probably the best place to find gas in Laftown, as everyone calls it. And by everyone I mean me.

They have two types of ice (cubed and crushed), every single imaginable flavor of soda your heart desires, Icees, coffee (hot and cold), donuts, sandwiches, hot dogs with all the fixings and froyo with every topping you can think of. It's a one stop shop. It's on busy Ambassador Caf, but it's easy to get in and out of. I was here this week to fill up with Diet Coke and accidently dropped my lid in the trash while changing my straw. I had a bit of a panic attack thinking "what the hell am I going to do with no lid?" It's sort of my most prized possession at the moment and was a gift from my dad, so... Thankfully a guy working the counter saw my mistake and saw the look on my face and walked over, pulled out the bag and found my lid and handed it to me. Without a word. Wanted to hug him, but didn't. I just thanked him profusely. So yes, I'll continue to return to this Racetrac and y'all should too. Oh, and by the way? That refill was on the house.

I asked the girl if there was milk and she looked at me like I was bothering her. Milk dispenser was empty and half/half as well. There was no more in stock, no frills sugar selection, coffee dispenser doesn't keep coffee hot, mine was cold, no sleeves, the coffee that is hot was decaf and there wasn't much of a selection of coffee in general. I felt like there isn't much thought given to the coffee station, old school. I bought three cups of coffee and they were thrown out because it was gross. The coffee station and whole store could differently use a good cleaning! Soap dispensers are all broken. I would rather travel out of my way to get a updated coffee station and cleaner establishment with friendlier service. This is my opinion.

I can always depend on good cuts of quality meat, great selection of authentic cheeses (the Italian stuff is legit), and I can gorge on the samples throughout the store. I'm even a fan of the hot dog combo, and I'll pop in for a quick bite when I'm in the area. We became business members when we needed our entire HVAC system replaced. The discounts we received paid for the premium membership for a few years! We also took advantage of their travel service and was amazed at the accommodations and amenities offered at a price that seemed dubious at first but proved to be all inclusive. But for such a huge store with a wide variety of everything from Halloween decorations to windshield wipers, I'll pop in every week just for a gallon of milk and quart of cream. Being less than a mile from the house it's a no-brainer.

In addition to the cheap gas and the cheap but wonderful value from the food court items, they do keep this Costco clean with of course all their signature products (in bulk) available for your consumer purchasing. I wound up getting some snacks here including those grass-fed beef sticks and the skinny peanut butter cups, both which were on sale. They also have unique louisiana items such as bulk louisiana hot sauce. I was hoping to find some boudin items here but sadly none were to be found. Obviously if I'm in Lafayette again, this will always be a stop for the gas. And if I'm craving a soft serve ice cream or hot dog.
