(From October, 2025) Of course, I'm pleased there's a Costco in Lafayette and of course, I would stop in here to marvel at the inner works in comparison to the Baton Rouge location. In addition to the cheap gas and the cheap but wonderful value from the food court items, they do keep this Costco clean with of course all their signature products (in bulk) available for your consumer purchasing. I wound up getting some snacks here including those grass-fed beef sticks and the skinny peanut butter cups, both which were on sale. They also have unique louisiana items such as bulk louisiana hot sauce. I was hoping to find some boudin items here but sadly none were to be found. Obviously if I'm in Lafayette again, this will always be a stop for the gas. And if I'm craving a soft serve ice cream or hot dog. read more

Bee a member for about 5 months - spent over $2,000. Finding the quality of food products to be substandard - baklava made with sugar syrup instead of honey, multiple eggs broken in larger cartons, water maple "syrup" etc. Lots of products are brand name and excellent, but no one wants to waste money on inferior products that get thrown awY. The buyers for the store should be checking these things. If you get a new product, they should try it themselves before putting it out in the stores. This Costco is exceptionally clean, and the staff is very friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to get in and out. There were no lines at checkout, even around 11 a.m. on a Wednesday. However, I was disappointed that there were no samples available, especially since it was close to lunchtime. A banging cheap meal at Costco. I mean, the pep slice is greasy cheesy big and hot... The hotdog combo hits it hard in the tastebud mambo... The ice cream sundae rivals any other... But then... But then... Costco goes and tempts me with a big juicy roast beef sandie that looks low down mean and brown... And I'm ready to head to flavor town. Then reality hits... I'm suddenly staring down the barrel of a $10 price point... Where am I again? Is this not the warehouse god of a $10 bag of fish sticks that would make Poseidon himself nauseated? Have I not walked through the receipt checking arms of a smiling door attendant dozens of times, dragging along the 2 gallon jugs of peanut butter, enough to PB&J the neighborhood a ask the way through the Fall semester? All for less than a 10spot and a song? Then... you hit me in the pie hole with a singular $10 luncheon meat sando... Well, with the Costco promise of goods and services, delivered to you in a forklift worthy portion, it's gotta be a sight to behold... right? Wrong. The pic promises of NY deli pile of shaved roastie goodness, showered with veg and slathered in tangy onion relish... What I got was two thin levels of meat... A singular fan of limp, but still crisp romaine... On top of a dry, but to be fair, somewhat tasty chibatta loaf... Refrigerated and wrapped in cellophane... Costco... My friend... This is not what I hoped for... You're better... you're bigger... you're more cost effective, and sometimes down right more gluttonous than this... Honestly, keeping us hostage at the exit door while your employee rechecks and rechecks and recounts someone's car is not good business. It's delaying everyone getting out to the cars. It's very frustrating. Please have the staff let people go by if they want to do a more in-depth inspection of a cart. Every other time I'm there they are shaken someone down to see if they stole. read more

This Costco is wonderful. Sometimes we come just for lunch. Yes we are those people. Pros- never too busy even on weekends - employees are friendly and helpful - gas line is decent and all the pumps are in order Cons- they run out of seasonal stuff fast ie Fruit trees in the spring And it continues to boggle my mind why they have an attendant at each self checkout stand. Wonderful place to shop for bulk items! I always enjoy looking at the savings book to see what is on sale. It is nice to shop while sampling items. Costco is no stranger to having organic items which I love trying! The customer service is awesome. The cashiers are very quick to check you out and put everything back in the basket for you. After I shop, I usually get something to eat in the food court with the kids. The food court is so cheap and everything they have is delicious. My favorite is the chicken bake and the pizza. I have tried so many new foods since I have gotten a membership here. I bought some ice cream mochi which tastes great. I am not sure if it is still in the stores due to alot of items being seasonal. read more

Is it worth the hype? Yes. Did I wait too long to join? Yes. Should you join? Yes! I'll meet you there! So one day recently I was in the area and decided to take the obligatory store tour to see what all my Costco card holding friends are raving about. I'll admit, I did so begrudgingly thinking for sure I'd get the hard sell and feel pressured to join. Well a strange thing happened. My tour guide not only didn't make me feel pressured, simply stated the facts about who and what they do and let me walk around after the tour to do some "price comparisons" for as long as I wanted. I was back an hour later signing up. Their Kirkland brand is made by national well known brands..for instance the Kirkland brand of laundry detergent is made by Tide. It's basically Tide Ultra Clean but cheaper. Something that works as well and is significantly less? Sign me up! A bottle of the Kirkland brand allergy medicine which is the same ingredient and strength as Claritin is $8 bucks for 365 tablets. Whaaaa!!!!?? Yes, a full year of medicine cost me what I used to spend $1 a pill on everywhere else. And that was the off brand. Ok? That alone was worth the membership! All the meat and seafood look amazing and the prices really can't be beat. The packaged deli foods and quick dinners are affordable as well and the rotisserie chickens that are oh so convenient and delicious to pick up for dinner shine here as well. They don't make it out to the floor unless they weigh at least 6 pounds. The cost? $6, no matter the weight. I hopped on the Costco bandwagon and you should too! read more

Great prices, great selection. Extraordinarily high-quality food products as well as household needs. My wife and I have to limit the number of times we go in here per month because you always end up spending more than you plan on spending: the prices are so right, and the products are so good. One problem with Costco is that you find a product you really like and you go back to get it again, and it seems like sooner or later the product is no longer available. That becomes disappointing. We've also been disappointed that the chicken that they cook in the store is no longer seasoned. It tastes very bland now, although it's perfectly cooked to a nice juicy doneness. The chicken used to be perfectly cooked AND perfectly seasoned. read more

Twice now on separate visits the checkout guy did not scan an item , it's their only job when you pull that cart up , seriously. The guards at the exit count and find a discrepancy and you're treated like a shoplifter . I had four different employees surround me and struggle to count my items on the receipt ( it was ten items not a hundred ) then struggle to figure out what was missing while making a scene and blocking the entrance as if I was some kind of criminal in both occasions. I'm here to buy and pay for my stuff not deal with the blowout from distracted cashiers , I was not using self checkout on both occasions so I could have help scanning my heavy items and the scene that's created when a cashier cannot do their job is beyond embarrassing and bizarre , I hate shopping here, and will take my business elsewhere now. read more

Visited Costco in Lafayette, LA, Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Normally checkout is a fast process. Today was not. Unfortunately I had to go thru the Cashier staffed checkout lane. costco must have been competing with Walmart today, 2 out of 10 lanes open, I counted no less than 20 people waiting in both lanes. I attempted nicely to mention it to the cashier, person assisting cashier and door person. All I got was Thank You For Shopping At Costco. As much as I dislike Walmart and their shortage of lanes open, at least I don't pay an annual membership to wait in long lines. Need to fix that issue Costco. read more

As there anyone out there but me who resents being treated like a common thief when you go to Costco? Besides having to show your membership card when you come in (never mind you can't check out without it), this store is now asking to see your card at the checkout line so that they can make sure the photo on the rear is actually you. Then, when leave, you are forced to wait in line to show them your receipt and prove to them you actually paid for your merchandise. I switched to Costco from Sam's Club a few years back and I do not regret the decision. I was satisfied with the weekend visits to the Baton Rouge location, the Costco in my old Carrollton area neighborhood in New Orleans. But then Lafayette got it's own! If you ever get an invite to a Costco Pre-Opening event do not miss this opportunity! I told my kids and wife about this and they event, and boy were they sorry they missed it! It was so hard to NOT pig out let me tell you. The store is always clean, and when the occasional employee needs an attitude adjustment management is ready to address the issue. The Deli. Produce. I live very close to Sam's Club and was a member there for years. I recently dropped that membership and switched the Costco. In many ways they are the same, but the one way Costco is hands down better is the checkout time. I began to dread going to Sam's because once I finished I would have to wait 10 to 20 minutes to checkout. Costco seems to be very good at scaling the number of open registers to the number of people going through them. On top of that they pretty much take your cart from you and check it all out, with little effort on your part. I had started going to Sam's less and less. I go to Costco once a week, the experience is just better. No complaints as of yet. read more

This is feedback on the service my husband and I received today in Lafayette, LA. We bought a leather rocker/recliner and one of your employees (Sean) loaded it for us, walked us through checkout (we had bought a couple of other items) and took us out to my SUV. I've had this vehicle for years, but he taught me something about it today. I did not know how to fold the rear seats more than once--but Sean did! He is competent and very polite. After ordering a set of tires for my vehicle, I left it with the tire center to have them installed. Upon taking possession of my truck after the tires were installed, I inspected the tires and wheels and found damage to the wheels. There were multiple scuff marks on the wheels. There was also a substantial gouge into the metal of one of the wheels. I filled out an incident report for the gouged wheel and left the scuff marks off since I figured they could buff out. I took the truck that day to be detailed. After the truck was detailed, the scuff marks were still there. Several days later, I received a call from Costco regarding my incident report for the gouged wheel. The representative told me that she did not think the damage to the wheel was consistent with any of the tools used to install the tires. She refused to do anything to make the situation right, even though I told her up front that I did not want any of the employees to get in trouble. I didn't expect to have the wheel replaced, either. I just wanted something done to make the situation right. Costco refused to do anything. I am meticulous about the maintenance and condition of my vehicle. It's a very expensive vehicle that I take pride in owning. I take care of my things. If the damage done was something that I felt I could have possibly done, I would never have brought it to the attention of the store. However, the damage was absolutely not done by me and was not on the wheel until it was left in Costco's care to install the tires. Had Costco even done something as small as a gift card to be used in their store, I would have been happy with that. But I was essentially called a liar and flat out told that nothing would be done to rectify the situation. Bottom line, take your business elsewhere. If a company this large can't take care of its customers even over a small incident, then they don't deserve my business. read more

I was a member of SAMS for many years but switched my membership to COSTCO when the opened in Lafayette. I much prefer COSTCO over SAMS. Upper management at corporate SAMS seems to be clueless as to customer service. read more

What is there to say about Costco? Most are probably really familiar with this chain. I love this story and new location. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I have always had great customer service and the samples are very tasty. I enjoy have healthy and flavorful options when shopping and Costco does fit the bill. read more
