Every step was carefully explained, which gave me complete confidence and peace of mind. The surgery went far more smoothly than I anticipated, and my recovery was easier than I expected because of the outstanding care I received. His surgical assistance was amazing, I was so nervous she even hold my hand to comfort me while i was being put under the anesthesia. I only have the most positive things to say about him and if I ever need any work done I will go back to his office without any doubt

I cannot recommend Dr. Thurgood based on my experience with wisdom tooth extraction…read more While the initial surgery went reasonably well, the follow-up care was deeply problematic. When I returned the same day with bleeding complications, Dr. Thurgood applied sutures WITHOUT any local anesthetic and WITHOUT warning me this would be painful. The experience was traumatic - I had severe pain and difficulty breathing during the procedure. Beyond this incident: Minimal pre-operative counseling about what to expect or watch for No information provided about common complications like dry socket (which I developed) Poor availability for post-operative support when complications arose I ultimately needed care from another oral surgeon, Dr. Michael Bingham, whose professionalism and clear communication showed me what proper care looks like. Patients deserve informed consent, appropriate pain management, and accessible follow-up care. I did not receive these basic standards. The lack of communication and transparency made a routine procedure unnecessarily difficult and traumatic. I share this to help others make informed decisions about their care.

Communication is horrible. Care and diagnosis is sub par…read more Here's what happened: I went to this office because I had a dental emergency where a tooth was suddenly painful and loose. They were good enough to see me very quickly, and as I feared, the tooth needed to be extracted. Everything that day went well. They scheduled me for a cleaning and exam a couple of weeks later. The cleaning seemed to go well, and much to my surprise, I was told my gums and teeth were in good shape. It had been since before Covid that I had been to the dentist, and feared things would be bad. I had 2 cavities, but they filled them, and all appeared well. THIS IS WHERE THE WHEELS CAME OFF THE CART They informed me I would be contacted so their oral surgeon, who does not work in the office regularly, could put a post in for an implant. They never called, so I called them, and communication was horrible. Finally I got a text telling me the date they would do the work. But as that date approached I was never contacted about a time. Twice on the phone they told me they had to send a referral. I finally called the oral surgeon's office, and was told they didn't have a referral, but they squeezed me in on the date I had been told. I called the office at O&A again, and only got an answering service. Told them I needed a referral for the implant, and needed a callback urgently. They never called back. Out of frustration, I contacted a different dental office. They had me come in, and their equipment and processes were more modern and much more thorough. Turns out my concern about my dental health was correct. I had another tooth based on xrays and more advanced imaging, that had a bad infection, and though there was no pain, the bone loss was significant, and that tooth also was loose due to the bone loss. I had suspected this might be a burgeoning issue, but it was missed by O&A. My gums also were in need of some serious maintenance because of the long time having not seen a dentist. So I am having another tooth removed before the infection becomes a serious issue in my jaw, and am finally getting the implant needed from O&A, and am having a scaling and cleaning to help with my gums. I was NOT being over sold by the new office. The X-rays and imaging were very clear in the issues they exposed, all of which were missed by O&A. O&A had also not recommended any antibiotic for my infection, which my new office provided me with. I'm not someone who leaps to use antibiotics, but it was clear they were warranted in this situation. I canceled all future work from O&A last week since I got no call back from the office, and I had found a different office for my oral health. This morning, at 7:20AM mind you (who returns calls before 8AM?) I was awoken by a call from O&A, saying that they had a message I needed to speak with them. I made that urgent request 7 days ago! Avoid this office if possible. The people were all very nice, but their communication and dental expertise is suspect and downright neglectful. Glad I'm in good hands now.

I had been experiencing some blinding pain and scheduled an appointment for a dentist to look over my teeth and help identify the cause - this insurance coordinator booked me 10 days out full well knowing and approving me paying out of pocket. Less than a day before my appointment, she called and left me a voicemail simply stating they would not be able to see me tomorrow or ever. When I called back to inquire, the receptionist and insurance coordinator became agitated and defensive going so far as to raise her voice over the phone with phrases such as "are you serious?" and "I don't know what to tell you". I did not once raise my voice or speak disrespectfully to the staff. Shame I never got to interact with the dentists or hygienists as they come highly recommended. Would not recommend this dental office to anybody due to the unaccommodating nature and overall lack of ethicality handling a situation with an individual experiencing extreme distress due to dental related pain.

The assistant was experienced, professional but most importantly she was kind, gentle and friendly as she took my full set of xrays. The doctor came in and he considered all of my concerns after checking my medical history. He did a cancer screening and checked my gums in addition to evaluating my xrays. I never felt rushed, yet I did see their concern for my dental care. The dental hygienist, Jamie was super gentle. My husband, daughters, their family members all go to this office. I highly recommend this office. A big thanks to the staff for making me feel comfortable at a dentist office!
