The pub is located in D and it is nicely set apart. You would not know you were in a airport. I kept it simply and ordered a club sandwich with a Murph's Red. The food came out quickly and the accompanying fries (err, chips) were very hot. The service was friendly and caring. I have to say that the waiter reminded me of Martin Short. Murphy's is great because it's set in a quiet corner of the airport. Their back room is a respite from the hustle and bustle of a major airport. Service is quick and food comes within 15 minutes. With paying up front, you can settle your check easily. The food isn't great. The beet and goat cheese salad was terrible. The egg and sausage breakfast sandwich was large but bland. Came here for a quick bite during a layover and I could not have been more pleased to have picked this place. Ordered Chips, Bitter Balls, and Mint Tea. The Chips were perfectly cooked and the Bitter Balls were absolutely delicious. I had never tried those before and they were perfectly breaded round balls that were stuffed with gravy and beef. The food and my tea were piping hot which is just how I like it. The pub had a chill atmosphere and the staff was incredibly friendly. For an airport, I found the entire meal to be of decent value. It's better to hang out here than in the waiting area in the airport. My gate was at the end of the D corridor and there is nothing down there, except for a little cafe area. If I'm going through Schiphol, then I'm going to stop in here. Grabbed a pint and bitballen appetizer. The bitballen is really crispy outside and creamy inside. I wasn't a fan of the bitballen, but that's just my personal preference versus any issue with the food. Bartenders were really nice and enjoyed hanging out there minus some of guys who were really, really drunk. read more

First, let me say that I actually like this place despite the 3 star rating. The atmosphere is great for an airport "pub", the staff are authentic and friendly and the beer flows from the taps. However, DO NOT ORDER A BURGER. I suspect their other options are better since the fries were pretty good. But, the burger, oh man that burger, was baaad. I knew it was going to be bad when I cut it in half and the burger had a uniform grey consistency throughout, missing the cracks and crevices a good, fresh burger always has. I decided to taste it anyway. Big mistake. Tasted like an unseasoned, frozen and unloved creation that someone was forced to concoct. My only advice to you, fair Yelper, is to never, ever do what I did by ordering the burger. Everything else was quite good. Fries were delicious, beer was poured perfectly and at the correct temperature. Even the coleslaw was good and I hate coleslaw. But, that burger was another level of bad. Awful place to pass the time in Schiphol airport. Between the below par Irish trad and 90s reggae pop, both of which are on a volume too high, we high tailed it out of here as soon as we finished our cups of tea. I think the more negative reviews miss the point of this place. In a world where most bars look and feel like operating theatres this is a breath of fresh(ish) air. A real pub in a phony encasement. Sticky floors music no raspberry jus with lobster tails.
