Great little place local pub. Just don't go there if you're hungry. Not much food if any.

Really great Irish pub, full of expats and people wanting to watch some American football on their excursions to Salzburg. We came here to watch the Steelers/Bengals after dinner, and quickly found some seats near the front. We were happy to see people from the US who were doing the same thing we were, and quickly made friends with the rest of the people in the bar. The place has the look of your normal Irish pub: kinda divey, a good number of beers, and TVs strewn throughout the place. They only have so many TVs though, so it's good to get here early and tell them which game you want them to show. If you're too late, they'll usually only show 2 games at a time, so tough luck if your game isn't on. It looked like they were streaming online from their computers to the TVs, so there is a little bit of a delay, but for the most part. Even after dinner, we were still a little bit hungry, so we ordered the pizza, which was actually pretty good (and cheap!). The oven in the back also must have been the source of heat, because it was sort of sweltering in the bar, but the beer helped us cool down (for the most part). Service was very kind and friendly, and the prices for beer and food were very reasonable, given the touristy area. Highly recommend for a pint, and for watching American football. read more

My favorite bar when I studied abroad! Super chill vibes and lively, but never super crowded. Great beer and very nice bartenders!

Words cannot express my love for Murphy's. This place was my local watering hole for the duration of my studies at the Salzburg College. Run by two gents (a brit and an irishman, naturally), there are only three rules to abide: 1. No speaking german 2. It's called football, not soccer! 3. Tips ain't just a place in China These guys run a tight ship and don't put up with any bullshit, but they aren't above razzing the newcomers and shit-talk a great deal (all in good fun). Sadly, I only had one pint at Murphy's Law. Of the three Irish pubs in Salzburg, this is the one with the neighborhood bar feel. It's also the smallest. And maybe the one most serious about football, as I noticed the TVs more here. I think the other pubs on the main drag lean more toward the hookup vibe (at least at weekend), but ol Murphy's, with it's sneaky side-street locale brings in the diehards. If it's good old fashioned bar you want.... this is your Irish pub. (Unless you're a freak for Magner's; think this spot has Strongbow on draught. Great little bar for American Football on a Sunday, sure you might think we were on vacation couldn't we go ONE Sunday without it?? Nope, we couldn't! They advertised the games outside which attracted us inside and we found many other fellow Americans which was cool to finally understand what people were saying :) The only thing I would change is a larger beer selection, I know it's an irish bar and all but I was looking for german/Austrian beer and they didn't really have much of a selection of that. read more

Wonderful bar!! Contacted the bar via Facebook to confirm that they were carrying the Superbowl. They responded within 20 minutes with a YES. One of our first stops in Salzburg and we were not disappointed. Maris behind the bar was amazing. Got to know several Irish patrons who were so friendly. As a student studying abroad in Salzburg, Murphy's Law makes for the best time I have had for a mellow Whiskey drink in on any night of the week. My first experience there was quite incredible, and Irish band jamming in the back, the friendly bar tender calling me love, and great company as well as great beer. MUST GO read more

We went to this pub yesterday evening. We were served by a girl with a severe attitude problem, She used the "f" word because, apparently, we had two beers left to pay and we were just doing numbers in a language she couldn't understand. She shouted: "just pay and leave". She was really rude and I can't still believe that there are still people like that working in an "international" pub like Murphy's Law. I don't think the manager was around- she was on her own, so I wasn't able to speak to him/her. But I wish I had, this pub needs better service. read more
