You walk into Murphy's Pub and immediately think... well, this is going to be a step down from most pubs I go to, but the ugly cement floor grows on you once the place fills up, the music sounds, and you have a pint of Guiness.
Murphy's is very much a locals' pub. It has to be. It's in the middle of nowhere in a small town on the coast of Ireland! It's a place to meet your neighbors, or in our case, the people who live in the town we were staying in for the weekend. The town of Brandon is a beautiful place, and the people you'll meet have probably lived there their entire lives, so everyone knows each other and is (as is typical) friendly as can be.
You won't find anything special at Murphy's - except if you're there on a live music night. But you'll enjoy yourself, and if you're in Brandon you won't have many other options! read more
