The halloumi salad was also great, with a generous amount of cheese. This pub is a perfect example of the evolution of pubs in the country, serving much higher quality food than in times past. We got our drinks and moved to the front room where they had live music. We finished our drinks, enjoyed the music and called it a night after one pint. The space has all the character of an old Irish pub and we had high hopes for Courtney's, but sadly it was the one negative experience on our trip. Overall, disappointed. Enjoyed the pint and the space is cool, but we wouldn't recommend as a "must do" on a trip to Killarney.

The food at An Corcan is surprisingly good, given its off-the-beaten-path location in an off-the-beaten-path town. It has an interesting mix of Irish pub fare (cream of vegetable soup which is lovely, roasts and fish and chips which hit the spot, and the famous Irish "toasted special," in this case a combo of ham, cheese, tomato and onion), and American bar food (chicken wings which we didn't bother to sample, chicken curry salad which was actually a big hit with our group, and burgers).
