The Quaker values that are an integral part of the school community help your child become a better person. My son is kind, generous, has empathy toward others, and has excellent critical thinking skills. My husband and I are not rich and made sacrifices to allow our son to attend AFS. It was worth every penny. Contrary to other reviews, it is not a school for the wealthy and they celebrate community diversity. Every child deserves the education that AFS provides, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Oh I think I heard it was a scholarship or tuition based school. What it takes to qualify I don't know. You gotta do some research! Some were autistic, some had other disabilities. But one thing we all had in common was the horrific treatment from the "teachers" and administration that turned a blind eye. When I was a child, I did not realize that laws were being broken. Now I know better. Delta School should be shuttered and leveled. It is a place of constant nightmares for those of us that remember the beatings, and have not blocked them out of our collective memory. This is the location of Holland Middle School, a part of the Council Rock School District. While my…read moreson is not a student here, he does play basketball as part of the Council Rock Basketball Association. The 7th grade teams play here on weekends. The facility is large enough for two full courts, and it is used morning 'til late afternoon on Sundays to fit in all the teams playing in this age bracket. Like most public schools in the lower grades, it lacks bleachers. Parents stand/sit around the edge of the courts to watch their kids play. The referees are local people trained in wearing black and white stripes and a whistle. They do an excellent job keeping the games under control, especially given the reality that most of these boys and not yet developed into skilled athletes. They don't call every foul or violation, because the game would never be completed it they did that. They let the game go and try to allow everyone to have fun while they compete. Thanks to all the volunteers who coach, keep time and score, and maintain the facilities for the rest of us. Kudos to the parents for coming out and letting their kids play the game without parental interference. It is good to see everyone again this season.
