We came back to Aguascalientes from Merida/Cancun to spend a few more days with family. On this leg of our trip, we visited Museo José Guadalupe Posada, located in central Aguascalientes. While the museum bears José Guadalupe Posada's name, some very nice work by contemporary Mexican artists is also on display in one wing of the museum.
José Guadalupe Posada (1852-1913) was an influential graphic artist/printmaker/engraver. His work, often satirical, is entertaining and appealing.
We got tripped up by the 5:00pm closing time and were somewhat rushed to see everything. Yelp shows the closing time as 6:00pm, but it was five p.m. the day we were there. I'd say that if you leave yourself 1.5 to 2 hours, you'll be able to leisurely check out the entire museum.
Photos without flash can be taken. In the interior courtyard, there is a table with a print block, little squares of paper and crayons for you to try your hand at creating a picture. That was fun.
Several inexpensive parking garages are located near the museum. As an aside, as compared to the United States, most parking garages in Mexico have restrooms.
