Did not expect to be amazed. Multiple floors about - simply - how to clean things. It was fun, it was insightful, and they definitely had things to keep the kids interested. An entire floor dedicated to the history of the vacuum cleaner. Don Aslett did all this, and we were told he was inhouse that very day. We went to the office area, and saw him fast asleep in his chair. Someone came out, apologizing, saying "I'm so sorry, he wants to see people, but, well, he's quite old now." We deferred, of course, but his dedication over time to this museum was impressive. And a really good sense of humor in some of the signs. Absolutely worth a visit.

Is this your garage? It sure inspired me to declutter my garage!

Who would have thought that a museum devoted to cleaning would be fun. Who would have thought to create one. This is a surprisingly large and very humorous ode to cleaning. Lots of history. And there are so many kid-friendly areas. Even one floor with interactive exhibits (one where kids can toss sponges through different toilet seats .. talk about potty humor). We had a great visit here. Staff is friendly and this is a great break in a road trip. Easy to find and not far from the interstate.

We had so much fun at this quirky and hilarious place! It's HUGE and interactive, and has an enormous collection of toilets and vacuums. We laughed a ton and learned about cleaning methods throughout the ages. We spent a couple of hours here, but you could even be here longer than that- and it looks like it's expanding to higher floors of the building. The owner was there and explained some of the vacuums to us- very interesting and funny guy. $6 entry makes it a super affordable outing- highly recommend!

Stopped in Pocatello, Idaho while on a road trip from California to Wyoming and decided to check this museum out, since it had so many positive reviews. To be honest, I had zero expectations because I just couldn't imagine I would find anything interesting related to cleaning. Anyway, I really enjoyed it and got to see the world's first vacuum cleaner as well as a variety of vintage vacuums, washers, cleaning supplies, bath tubs and so much more. Theres a total of 5 floors but I believe 2 floors are used for field trip presentations. Great for kids too! There's a big sphere inside the museum with 3 floors filled with activities and toys that teach kiddos about cleaning in a fun way. Definitely check this place out! Entrance was $6 person or $5 if you're a AAA member.

This is why we came to Pocatello. Yes, after the Idaho Potato Museum up in Idaho Falls and now the Museum of Clean in Pocatello. This is an interesting museum and I am very glad that we made the stop. Huge parking lot and an inexpensive entry fee, we were given a nice introduction by the docent at the counter and then the man himself, Don Aslett showed us through some of the initial exhibits. He's an interesting character and certainly the museum would not have been the same without meeting him! The Museum of Clean is Don's collection of cleaning stuff that is a result of his founding a hugely successful forty-state cleaning business. I can't imagine that there is anything else like it. A collection of sweepers and vacuums and washing boards and laundry machines and yes, toilets, going back over a hundred years. The third vacuum cleaner in history is on display here and I found that super cool. The video of Don on an 80's infomercial was interesting. The classic "Bruce" floor care products was cool. But I think the most neat thing that they had on display was Don's display toilet. Interesting because it had a Delta "Gold Medallion" tag on it with two million miles of flying. I have never seen a gate check toilet and that is a certainty. A cute little gift shop with Don's books (available for autograph if you like) and some cute/clever cleaning items like sponges and such that you probably won't find elsewhere. Pocatello Idaho, the home of the Museum of Clean. Make a point of stopping by.

Definitely did not expect it to be as interactive, funny and great for little kids. It's true what they says. Never judge a book by its cover :) If you are looking to get out of the snow like we were and you have a little one with you, this is the place to be. There were so many activities for little kids. We seriously could've easily spent half a day in here. My 2 yr did not want to leave so that should tell you something. Most of the cleaning exhibits were interactive so it makes learning about cleaning fun! Like I said, you won't be disappointed!

We had wanted to check out the Museum of Clean for years and finally had a chance to visit a few months back. The museum is quirky and fun, with numerous exhibits about the history of cleaning and cleaning products. There are loads of antique cleaning instruments and apparatuses including an impressive collection of vacuum cleaners. They even have a T-rex made from an old vacuum! In fact, throughout the museum they are many creative items created from cleaning items including musical instruments, clocks, and furniture. If you have some time to kill I'd recommend stopping by the Museum of Clean and having a look around -- it's good clean fun!

The Museum of Clean is a random fun little place to check out if you're in Pocatello. It has several interactive things for young kids and tons of interesting facts for adults. It's corky and not like other museums. They also have a little scavenger hunt which helped keep the kids interested during the less interactive parts.

My wife had been dying to come here so we made a special trip to Pocatello just to visit this. We got a person tour from the founder. He had personal experiences so that was nice but he seemed rushed. He kept saying come back to this area after the tour but by the time the tour was over we were done so we never spent much time on each exhibit. I did like his tour but it would have been nice to pause a bit in each area. It is a fun museum and he really likes to make jokes and play with the kids. Kids well enjoy the museum too. I think all walks of like well enjoy this stop. I would have liked to spend another hour here but after the tour we were ready to go. Give it a shot since you won't find another museum like this.

Don Aslett is a name I recognize from my wife talking about him and buying some of his books in the day. Time may have left him behind, but he still has a story to tell. I went here assuming it would be an unusual novelty to see. It turns out there are two great stories. One is what's in the museum and the stories behind the artifacts, the other is the museum itself. Don has collect a fantastic collection of things related to cleaning and tells great stories on the tour. Many of them I was familiar with, even if I had never seen so many varieties. Some were completely off the wall. The other part is that I think Don has gone as one can go to make the building green and low impact on the environment. That story is as interesting as the story of what's in the museum.
