This place is dog friendly! I brought my 7lb chihuahua and 80 lbs lab mix to sit out back on the patio. Limited seating in the back, but there's shade! The restaurant has an electrical awning so you'll stay cool in the heat. You get a view of trains going by. Staff were wonderful! So much better than the other dog friendly bar down the street. We came here while driving through on our way up to Yellowstone. We wanted a place with a patio since we had our two dogs. We called ahead of time and they mentioned they had patio space but it wasn't covered. There is an awning but it closes when it's windy, which it was that day. The train depot is also right there and it's pretty loud. Since it was so hot, our waitress was so accommodating and let us sit in the very back booth with our fur babies!! The inside has a bar type vibe but play good country music. We ordered a 14' large meat lovers pizza and a half order of the jambalaya. The jambalaya was definitely not authentic but it was pretty damn delicious. It was white rice with an amazing sauce. They hit the spice and flavor on the head. It also had the usual chicken, andouille, and shrimp with veggies! Amazing. The pizza was okay, it definitely wasn't my favorite. It tasted better the next day. I liked the thick crust, I just wasn't a particular fan of the tomato sauce. It had an odd taste. I also wished for a little more bacon. It was good though! Ok really cool place and so glad we stopped in for dinner! The beer I nabbed was light and refreshing and perfect. I should have got the flight test but that's ok. I was very happy with this one. We nabbed a small pizza which is about the right size for dinner but I should have gone up one size. The best part was the bar tender. She was the only one serving the other 3 tables and bar patrons. If you're looking for an easy going place with good drinks and a variety of food options, this is the place! For drinks, we both ordered the flight of all 12 beers available on the menu (and yes, we were feelin' it by the end!). PVB has a great variety of brewed beers and we truly couldn't pick out one that we didn't like. I especially enjoyed their Amber Ale. The flight comes on a handcrafted board with the name of each beer labeled on the tray. To eat, we ordered the spinach artichoke dip for our appetizer. The dip had a great ratio of cheese and spinach, and the bread provided was delicious and plentiful. I ordered the teriyaki bowl which came with fries on the side. They have a house dip that can come with it that is also good (it reminded me of Canes sauce). My friend ordered the smoked salmon salad, which she said had an excellent ratio of ingredients and was filling. We had a plate of bread and butter to share as well. One of the items on the specials menu was beer ice cream. I've reached picture limit or I would have posted it as well. It was SO. DELICIOUS. Our server was extremely personable, helpful, and actually let us know that she was the one to come up with the beer ice cream! I wish I had gotten her name or I would include it in this review. There was an older gentleman playing the guitar and singing while we were there as well. He sang a great combination of genres and was extremely personable as well. Our experience was terrible!! There was one other couple at a table and two men at the bar when we walked in. The bar tender/server was mouthy and very arrogant. We asked if they still had pizza and he went off about it, no and so glad we don't. I took way too long to prepare like 45 minutes, on and on. We ordered drinks and appetizers (we thought to start with) it took 45 minutes to get them. They were undercooked and tasted terrible. We waited for him to take our dinner order but he didn't come back. Just stayed at the bar talking to the two men. I finally had to go up and get the ticket, as we had decided to leave. After a long drive this was just the ticket. We didn't eat but the cold beer, friendly service and enjoyable conversation with the waitress as well as the owner and brewer (who is a woman!!) were wonderful. Be sure to check out the story of her adventure in going from a microbiologist to a brewer, etc. So down to earth and enjoyable. The "midnight satin" (an American stout with coffee overtones) was awesome. The broccoli carrot soup was very flavorful with multiple tastes. The teriyaki bowl was so so good!!! I was waiting for it to be overly sweet! And I was pleasantly surprised - it was perfect. Just the right amount of sweet and tangy. They veggies were all cooked just right, I'd love a few more, but I was happy! My husband got a Philly cheese steak he says was yum. But his sweet potato fries were very tasty. They, again, weren't overly sweet. There was a yummy salty, peppery seasoning on them that balanced out the sweet in the potato's! And just enough crunch to the soft. The cherry on top was the yummy sparkling lemonades..... I know! I know how it sounds eating at a brewery - weird! I know but I am just giving options for those who want something else. Also all the other reviews share about the rest of the beverages you can find here. Our server was perfect and on top of al the things we needed. (Given we were the only ones there in the middle of the day on a Tuesday - so we couldn't really compare to anything else.) but she was great and kind and helpful whenever we needed. So there it is! We needed a pit stop before making the rest of our trip home and we are glad we stopped here. The menu has a little bit of everything, they have a full bar and alcohol menu and the best part is all the drink names are hilarious. We ended up with the chicken gyro and the chicken provolone sandwich - both were awesome portions we weren't expecting!!! The fries also had a seasoning that was so good, you didn't need sauce (which I rarely say this). Our server JV was great too - attentive, funny and great at helping with the menu. Um, the Bacon Blu burger and waffle fries is what I had. The burger DRIPPED with enough grease to fill the bread/bun thing all around the entire burger. Cooked perfectly, I might add, but holy cow is this a greasy burger! Flavor was poor, like if it wasn't for the salt & cheese, it would have none! It was damn disappointing. So, I moved onto the fries, or waffle fries. Well, the outside was very lightly cooked and covered in a nice seasoning & batter. Really looked great....till you tasted them. This was THE worst restaurant/brewery experience that my husband or I EVER had(together we have over 9 decades on the planet, so needless to say, we've had a few) I hate leaving bad reviews, we WANTED to love this place. We arrived around 3:30pm on a Saturday night, not a prime meal time-this becomes VERY important. First, we were almost attacked for our drink orders(VERY rushed, I hadn't even sat down yet) Then, turns out they're out of sasparilla, ok, fine. I start to order apps. Out of artichoke dip, corn chips, beer cheese, soup, & several other things. At this point we decide that the 2 apps(hummus & garlic cheese bread)plus a beer flight are plenty, we will go elsewhere to eat our meal. 20min later we get a handful of odd pita chips from one pita(not crispy, not soft, it was an odd almost stale soggy)and a disposable souffle cup of hummus-the hummus was good, there just wasnt much of it, especially for the $9 price tag(it says $8 on the menu, but we were charged $9). 30min later we still don't have the garlic bread. The kids are restless(they've had lemonade & stale pita, they're hungry, they're bored). During this time we see soup, quesadilla, & something else they were "out of" go by, hmmmm. 20min after that when FIVE tables that arrived & ordered after us(by 10-30min) not only had gotten their food, but were finished eating, 2 paid & left....we still dont even have our garlic cheese bread, we ask for our check. We're done. The bill? $30. For a $10 beer flight, 3 kid sized lemonades($3ea), & 1 stale cut pita & a sample cup of hummus(think costco sample size). Paying took another 20min, while they held our cc hostage. During that 2hrs, we saw our waitress 3x, once when we were pressured for drink orders before I could sit down-i ordered the apps at the same time, once when she delivered the stale pita, & once when we got the check(someone else had to bring it back). That was 2hrs of our lives that we will never get back!! NEVER again!! My husband apologized for liking beer(thats why we picked this place, he likes craft beer)-thats how bad it was. Never have experienced anything so bad. Hubs also told me not to leave much in tip...keep in mind that he is typically the one that wants to leave 25-40% anywhere we go....not today!! We arrived on a Friday night for music and dinner. Looking forward to trying their beer, I was torn between Belligerent Ass and Twisted Stick. Our waitress generously offered me a sample of each. I really liked the way Belligerent tasted on the front side, but struggled with the aftertaste. The twisted was a little too bitter for me. I Ordered Jambalaya and Barry ordered the Meat pizza. My wife and I stopped by on our way through Pocatello. The ambiance in the restaurant wasn't good at all. My wife considered leaving to find another restaurant before ordering due to this, the place was not very clean, but adequate. The service was okay, the waitress was a bit snippy and appeared to be the only one for the whole restaurant. The kitchen area that could be seen from the dining area did not look clean and the cook had no head coverings for his long hair and his shirt was overly dirty. Was very excited to try this place but overall it was extremely 'meh.' We were greeted by a frantic waitress when we came in, but then had to grab menus, find a table, and seat ourselves. We waited quite a while to place drink orders, longer to place food orders, and then had to wait a while to get our food. For an appetizer, we got the breadsticks with marinara, which turned out to be toasted pita bread with marinara. The marinara was Ok, but the bread was pretty neutral. For our entrees we both got the Hot Italian Sausage Sandwich. It took forever for us to get our meals and the fries that were the side for our sandwiches came out 5 minutes before the actual sandwiches. The sandwiches were Ok, but not great and certainly not worth the wait or the price. I was really looking forward to eating here and I was disappointed with the service and the food, although the beer was great. Now, I gave this place three stars instead of two because I overheard the waitresses talking and apparently they were short staffed that night. So, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume this was an off night, but still not a great meal and not great service. read more

Normally a taboo subject (politics), we discussed the general nature of government with no thrown beer mugs. Nice space - we sat at the small bar downstairs. So, I have never given a 1 star review before. Ever. And I hate to do it. However, we went on a Saturday at lunch time- which you would think it would be busy. It wasn't. That should have been the first red flag. The second red flag was that it smelled and appeared unclean. We were on a time crunch so we decided to give it a shot. Our service was good- that's why it gets one star. Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered 3 meals and one to go. My daughter ordered the teriyaki bowl with chicken. One of the pieces of chicken had a bone in it and the rice and vegetables were drowning in watery teriyaki sauce. The salad that came with it had brown pieces of lettuce in it. I had the chicken gyro- the chicken was bland and the pita felt like it had been out in the air for a day or two. My husband had the turkey sandwich, which was fine but nothing special. We ordered a burger to go and that was ok as well. The fries were so over seasoned and salty that I couldn't eat them. All this being said, I could have overlooked the food had the beer been good. Why go to a brewery if you don't want good beer?! The beer was also bland. I got a flight and was very underwhelmed. I honestly would rather of had a Coors light. I really wanted to like this place because I love local breweries wherever I travel. I love Idaho breweries even more because I am a life long Idahoan. But I was super disappointed in this place. It would be reasonably priced had the food and drink been good, but I regretted having to pay the bill. They've got some work to do. read more

I stood for a few minutes in front of the hostess podium reading through the menu watching the waitress bustle about... there was two tables it looked like she was taking care of. No one at the brewery took notice that I was there. I then read the sign that said to "seat yourself" so I did.... and waited. And waited... and waited. Then a big ol' family came in and the hostess IMMEDIATELY jumped to help them. I left. I felt very unwelcome and received NO service. I come up to Pocatello several times a year on a one day trip with my wife. We almost always come here for lunch. We like the pizza. The sandwiches are good. The soup not always so good. I suppose this is a brew pub. I get pub food. When I do, it's good. It's great to have a place with character and pretty good beer. I'd love to have a place like this in my area. The last thing they need is to have anyone plug the dog biscuits. They sell out quickly. They are made from the compressed yeast and our dog loves them. Normal PVB is a solid choice. Tonight I ordered the Jumbalya. The staff obviously used bad shrimp. Despite the rancid smell they brought it to me anyway. I've never sent anything back to a kitchen EVER until tonight. I had to move the plate to a table across the isle as it was nauseating me. Lived in Louisiana and ate tons of jumbalya and shrimp. Whatever PVB made me tonight was not edible and I'm sure would have given me food poisoning. This plate smelled like the shells of shrimp after sitting in a garbage can outdoors at the 95 degrees and 100% humidity. They took the plate and the smell lingered in the room until we paid for our beers and left. Really really disappointed. read more
