    Meat Lovers Pizza Jambalaya
    Nicole C.

We came here while driving through on our way up to Yellowstone. We wanted a place with a patio since we had our two dogs. We called ahead of time and they mentioned they had patio space but it wasn't covered. There is an awning but it closes when it's windy, which it was that day. The train depot is also right there and it's pretty loud. Since it was so hot, our waitress was so accommodating and let us sit in the very back booth with our fur babies!! The inside has a bar type vibe but play good country music. We ordered a 14' large meat lovers pizza and a half order of the jambalaya. The jambalaya was definitely not authentic but it was pretty damn delicious. It was white rice with an amazing sauce. They hit the spice and flavor on the head. It also had the usual chicken, andouille, and shrimp with veggies! Amazing. The pizza was okay, it definitely wasn't my favorite. It tasted better the next day. I liked the thick crust, I just wasn't a particular fan of the tomato sauce. It had an odd taste. I also wished for a little more bacon. It was good though! Would definitely come again for how accommodating and for the amazing jambalaya!!

Ok really cool place and so glad we stopped in for dinner! The beer I nabbed was light and refreshing and perfect. I should have got the flight test but that's ok. I was very happy with this one. We nabbed a small pizza which is about the right size for dinner but I should have gone up one size. The best part was the bar tender. She was the only one serving the other 3 tables and bar patrons. She was quick and kept checking on us to make sure all was well. So glad we stopped in for dinner.

Food & Beer: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 I was in town visiting a friend who recently moved to Pocatello and we wanted to check out PVB. If you're looking for an easy going place with good drinks and a variety of food options, this is the place! For drinks, we both ordered the flight of all 12 beers available on the menu (and yes, we were feelin' it by the end!). PVB has a great variety of brewed beers and we truly couldn't pick out one that we didn't like. I especially enjoyed their Amber Ale. The flight comes on a handcrafted board with the name of each beer labeled on the tray. To eat, we ordered the spinach artichoke dip for our appetizer. The dip had a great ratio of cheese and spinach, and the bread provided was delicious and plentiful. I ordered the teriyaki bowl which came with fries on the side. They have a house dip that can come with it that is also good (it reminded me of Canes sauce). My friend ordered the smoked salmon salad, which she said had an excellent ratio of ingredients and was filling. We had a plate of bread and butter to share as well. One of the items on the specials menu was beer ice cream. I've reached picture limit or I would have posted it as well. It was SO. DELICIOUS. Our server was extremely personable, helpful, and actually let us know that she was the one to come up with the beer ice cream! I wish I had gotten her name or I would include it in this review. There was an older gentleman playing the guitar and singing while we were there as well. He sang a great combination of genres and was extremely personable as well. All in all: the food and drinks are cheap, delicious, and the service is phenomenal. PVB is a great stop for a quick drink or for a great meal.

I came in for the beer, stayed for a pizza and some company. Bartender was new and really tried hard to describe all the beers. I settled for a full flight but more impressed with a beer from Silver City than Portneuf. The pizza was good but I would go out of my way for another one.

Food: 4.5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5 The only reason I'm giving it a 4.5 for food was cause they were out of hummus and that's mostly the reason we were coming But the food I did get was great!!! The broccoli carrot soup was very flavorful with multiple tastes. The teriyaki bowl was so so good!!! I was waiting for it to be overly sweet! And I was pleasantly surprised - it was perfect. Just the right amount of sweet and tangy. They veggies were all cooked just right, I'd love a few more, but I was happy! My husband got a Philly cheese steak he says was yum. But his sweet potato fries were very tasty. They, again, weren't overly sweet. There was a yummy salty, peppery seasoning on them that balanced out the sweet in the potato's! And just enough crunch to the soft. The cherry on top was the yummy sparkling lemonades..... I know! I know how it sounds eating at a brewery - weird! I know but I am just giving options for those who want something else. Also all the other reviews share about the rest of the beverages you can find here. Our server was perfect and on top of al the things we needed. (Given we were the only ones there in the middle of the day on a Tuesday - so we couldn't really compare to anything else.) but she was great and kind and helpful whenever we needed. So there it is! All in all we were happy campers leaving and that's all we were looking for. Thanks for having us Portneuf Valley Brewing! We'd love to come back another time.

We needed a pit stop before making the rest of our trip home and we are glad we stopped here. The menu has a little bit of everything, they have a full bar and alcohol menu and the best part is all the drink names are hilarious. We ended up with the chicken gyro and the chicken provolone sandwich - both were awesome portions we weren't expecting!!! The fries also had a seasoning that was so good, you didn't need sauce (which I rarely say this). Our server JV was great too - attentive, funny and great at helping with the menu. Would definitely stop here next time in town.

Um, the Bacon Blu burger and waffle fries is what I had. The burger DRIPPED with enough grease to fill the bread/bun thing all around the entire burger. Cooked perfectly, I might add, but holy cow is this a greasy burger! Flavor was poor, like if it wasn't for the salt & cheese, it would have none! It was damn disappointing. So, I moved onto the fries, or waffle fries. Well, the outside was very lightly cooked and covered in a nice seasoning & batter. Really looked great....till you tasted them. Nearly raw by the looks of the white flaky potato inside, but due to the lack of any flavor, I'd guess they were frozen then thawed in a vat. I LOVE BURGERS!!!! But not these, I'm sorry.

We arrived on a Friday night for music and dinner. Looking forward to trying their beer, I was torn between Belligerent Ass and Twisted Stick. Our waitress generously offered me a sample of each. I really liked the way Belligerent tasted on the front side, but struggled with the aftertaste. The twisted was a little too bitter for me. I Ordered Jambalaya and Barry ordered the Meat pizza. Jambalaya was certainly spicy but marginal, the pizza however was very good. Prices are good and servings are large.

This place was legit. Beer was legit, pretzel was bomb, burger was awesome, and bartender was great. She stayed past closing and kept us entertained. Highly recommend.

April 2026 Idaho Falls, Idaho…read more I was surprised to see this place is attached to a hotel when I drove up. Typically I do not eat at restaurants that are attached to a hotel. However, Yelp told me it was a 4.3 star place to eat. I asked if they had any nonalcoholic beers. The waiter brings me a can of beer to show me what it is. When I tell him that I will have it. He says well I'll just take it back and put it in a glass. So they bring me a 16 ounce glass with the beer poured in and it only filled 12 ounces. I ordered the Nacho Mama's Dip. It is a chicken nacho dip. The waiter told me it was a large portion so I am eating that just as my meal. My husband ordered the fish and chips. When you walk in the front door, the bar is right there. Pretty large bar for one to sit and enjoy a drink or a meal. To the right our booths and high tables that line the wall as well as some booths in the middle of the restaurant that make you feel like you are sitting under a gazebo. There are tables and booths on the far wall as well. The tables are cut to appear like a live edge wood top table. The booths sit too low and the table sits high. Even my husband who is 6'2 felt an imbalance with the table to chair. My nachos come out and the cheese sauce is dripping off the side of the dish. It is an absolute mess. The nacho chips are off to the side. The toppings consist of black olives and onions with four pieces of diced tomatoes. Accompanied by a side plastic dish is salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. The guacamole is definitely not homemade. My biggest complaint is the cheese sauce is definitely from a can. The cheese that they did put on the nachos was a slice of cheese that was not even melted. See picture. Reminds me that I am eating in a restaurant attached to a hotel. There are no beans. The chicken is mixed in with the cheese sauce. And it is sparingly there. This dish is absolutely disgusting! The fish and chips were terrible. They're served in a basket with four pieces of fish and they sit upon fresh cut fries. The fish was not good. The batter has a odd taste. Perhaps the oil it is fried in? I think I would've been better off going to Culver's and having their fish platter. Although my beYr was in a can, it was very cold. It was truly the best part of my meal. I am so disappointed that yelp led me to this place. This is my warning to others. Stay away. We had two completely different meals and neither of them were good.

Original: My review for this place is not current. I had a…read morepretty bad experience here a few years back so we will never go again. WHAT HAPPENED: When they're busy, they don't have enough servers on. This was something we had already been warned about, and got to witness first hand. Also, without informing us, they charge for soda refills! Seems the server was padding the check, thanks to two teenagers with us, and they drink soda. I had a couple of beers that I expected to be charged for, but my other half's coffee refills?, mann come-on. The place is overly priced to begin with, the food was not fantastic. They were riding on their legacy name. Surviving by tourist seasons of the unsuspecting. I gave it two stars because the food wasn't bad. I can say that the experience was not worth the bill. I did see the prices before we ordered and did not hesitate. However, those prices raised my expectations. To top it all, the atmosphere is dark and cramped. Never again! It might seem petty to not give a second chance if you think that only the bill is the reason. The lack of transparency, price to quality, and shoddy service combined. I think there are equally if not better restaurants in Idaho Falls. It's not worth the price here. UPDATE: with a vengeance! Mitch and Justin at The SnakeBite showed me just how much things can change under new management/ownership. My first review stated that it was a couple of years ago, lol Mitch helped me sort out the timeline, and it was actually close to 6 years ago. Guess I'm a little out of the loop, because I was informed that 100Proof Hospitality bought the restaurant about 4 years ago, long after I had sworn the place off forever. I know some might not appreciate an old experience popping up like brand new in a review. I get that in hindsight, but these new owners didn't flinch, and they are savvy--I tell you that. They turned someone (me) who would've never returned, into their regular customer. To start, the two teens have grown, it was only the two of us, which didn't matter because they no longer charge for refills under the new ownership. We were hosted by..well, a young man who was a little less than personable. He wasn't bad, typical in fact, but after experiencing the management and our server--the rest of the team outshines him a bit. It was late lunch, so they were still busy, but had enough open seating for the two of us. Laney--our server, is the coolest lady to ever walk the planet. She was hustling, laughing, smiling and talking with everybody. Just magnificent ambiance. She handled my undecidedness in style, answering every single one of my questions with complete honesty. "So if I put pepperjack on this, will it ruin the flavor of the cheese sauce." Direct eye contact, slowly nodding with a cringing look, "yeahhh probably." Great pallet to boot cuz she was so right. The Blue SnakeBite Burger--mann that sauce!, is what "zesty blue" is all about! I also got a Stuffed Mushrooms appetizer. I hope I remember this exactly, but it's basically a spinach and artichoke dippy sauce stuffed inside of two very large portobello crowns, a fantastic drizzle and roasted red peppers on top! I would eat those every meal for the rest of my life! My other half got the Haddock with Waffle Fries, added Coconut Shrimp and Salad. She was too busy eating to tell me what she thought lol--loved it all. We sat, had met the dazzling Laney( who can bring people back all herself) ordered, and--get this--I ordered through Laney, a beer from the bar. The bar shortly later poured the wrong beer (think person ordered wrong), which was the same draft that I ordered. So over to our table comes the smiling and booming bartender with the beer out stretched to me, "You want a free beer"--well, yeah. The kicker: Nobody knew yet, including management, we were the "2nd look" couple. SnakeBite and 100Proof Hospitality, unknowingly pulled off a mic drop. Prices slightly higher than chains, and worth every cent! We will be back. So should you!
