Well, there are likely lots of people that don't want this, but for me and my friends this is a fantastic idea. I booked a 20 person room for my boyfriend's birthday this year. For the room it was $268 minimum on drinks and/or food, because there is indeed Chinese food served. It is in the old Sub Rosa / Joker's location, so it is a bit sketchy to go down to a dark basement. There was also a large amount of security cameras in the room... They had an abundance of songs in Asian languages, which wasn't much good to me and my friends, but also a decent selection of English songs. The software they had on the TV wasn't very easy to use and you could only make a playlist that you couldn't edit or rearrange, only skip songs that you accidentally selected. They DID have two tambourines in the room for accompaniment and two microphones for duets. They didn't appreciate us bringing cupcakes... or dancing on the coffee table... but they were quite accommodating and patient with our rowdy crew. A little side note, their business card has a major typo, calling Spring Garden Road, Sping Garden Road, but really this just adds to the charm.
