We are on our third month of lessons, and my son is as on fire for the guitar as he was on the first lesson! Mr. Bernard (as the kiddos call him:) has an exceptional approach to teaching. His pedagogy is impressive. He has mastered teaching by finding a perfect balance between helping the child foster a true love for music with the necessary components of technique and formal music training. As any good teacher knows, making information relevant to the student is paramount in the art of learning. Bernard is constantly connecting with the student and making sure it's relevant to him. I wanted to come back here and make an update to my last review at Las Vegas Voice and Piano. Funny thing is I happened to see a negative review but I don't think I could disagree more with it. Michael and Marta are both the most humble, and talented people. They're both extremely knowledgeable and experienced and educated. They instill a ton of a trust in their students because they really know their stuff. This is evidenced by the amount of students they have who receive scholarships who I have heard perform at their student recitals. I used to believe that voice lessons would be a waste of time for me, because I already had some natural ability. But now I see there is so much more to singing than just how you sound. Michael's honesty has been a lifesaver. Michael has completely changed my approach for the better. I could not be happier with the progress I've made over the last three years. I have a son who isn't afraid to jump in and try to fix anything that tried to fix my Gibson. Big mistake on my part to let him. Ian also fixed the truss-rod that my son messed up, free of charge. Absolutely Amazed! - I dropped off an Epiphone my significant other bought me. Typically, I…read morewouldn't buy anything but a Gibson. But, being a gift I couldn't sell it. It had sharp frets, definitely didn't have any 'ring' or sustain to it. It wasn't great to play. So I figured, being stuck with it, let's see what Topaz Guitars can do with it and their new Plek machine. I dropped it off on Saturday, a few days later Teresa sent me photos of it in the plek machine. Later that day, I was informed it was completed and booked a pickup for Saturday. LESS THAN A WEEK! For a full plek service and setup? WOW! Upon picking it up and playing it when I got home, I was in serious SHOCK. It played, sustained and RINGED better than my Gibsons. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to see what they can do with more of my guitars. I've used a few guitar techs in town and none of them have done a setup/service this impressive. Give them a try you won't be disappointed!
