Majority of the tutors have the degree from the musical institutions. The tutor we have for years is very nice and also strict. Besides teaching all the musical knowledge and performing skills, they help the kids get prepared for the NYSSMA and RCM exams. My daughter's NYSSMA exam scores are always kept at "outstanding" and "excellent" without fail. Besides the tutoring classes, they also provide practicing time for students. They encourage customers having musical instruments at home, and provide refurbished piano at reasonable price. A pretty looking music school in the neighborhood, I went to look with my friend and they offered free trial lessons. There were a lot of teachers in the brochure, each of different ethnicity and age. We saw kids and adults coming in and out of the school while we were asking about classes. The bookshelf had some piano and violin books that my friend's thinking of purchasing. Their TV also showed student's pictures and videos from youtube. You can come give them a try! read more

Normally, I do not take my time and patient to write an review. However this time I would really to point out some of the great features which musipire carries. I was there about few weeks ago but I can still remember almost every single details when I step inside and greeted by the staff member and the magical tour. The reason why I would take my precious time to visit musipire its because of my sister. She always have the passion in music and vocal in general, however she does not have an idea how to express the feeling, plus her lack of communicating skill makes harder. So I decided to find a place for her to able to embrace those feelings. In the beginning, I have already heard many good things coming from musipire, so it wasn't a hard choice for me to get started to search the place out of million choices. The moment I walked in there were three receptionist, each one of them are well trained and knows what they are doing. Very friendly enviroment and soothing music comes to my head. I asked about some general information and their specialist explained it perfectly which cleared most of my questions. They gave me a short tour to show me their main classrooms and such. Overall, I believe I have enough information about musipire and what if I let my sister enrolls and what will she learns in the future. This branch of musipire isn't big as the other one but it contains every single elements which a kid needed who is passionate for music or wants to understand the beauty of music. There weekly youtube channel is just amazing to watch, they even have their own musical festival and lots of shows to attend. In the end, musipire has opened one of my attention of window. I have heard of this music school for many years in the neighborhood and my neighbor's sister attends the first branch. I noticed they recently opened a newer branch a few blocks away so I went to check them out. Their price is different from the first branch because they are new with better equipments and teachers. The interior looks very clean and classy and their students are career style musicians. There are signs for music test registrations and scores. My update as Yelp wants to label it is more of a public response to the response I have gotten on my review from the Manager. Very weird how the response to my review has been deleted and now updated. (Please note that my review is 3 years old). I have never really written a very in-depth review so here goes, answering every bit that the manager has so kindly pointed out. First off, he claims to know that I told my instructor that I already had the basic foundation, so if I had that "basic knowledge" I wouldn't have chosen introductory guitar. If all I wanted to learn were songs, then I would've stuck to YouTube videos. If you don't know by now, that scales, strumming patterns, and reading a music sheet are the basic foundations of learning music then you should not be the manager of a music school. My first original review was not racist or rude as the manager claims it to be. It is a very good observation. My classes were always scheduled to begin at 2pm. Instead they would begin at 2:03 or 2:04 because there was another student taking up MY time. You speak so much about the concept of time spots and how they're respected (specially cause I've seen your responses in other posts about how time is so valuable), and my classes were never the full 30 minutes I was paying for. Keyword is PAYING. The classes weren't free and MY "time spot" was not respected. If my class is 30 minutes long, then I expect to leave at 2:33 or 2:34 not have my class be cut short due to a previous student taking longer with the teacher. I am very aware that I live in an Asian community, specially cause I've been living here for 27 years. My comments were not racist nor rude, as stated previously an observation and that my classes were always cut short because the teacher was taking more time with an Asian student. So please don't call me a racist publicly when your school is the one stealing my time and money. Mr. Michael, since you weren't there (because you weren't and every time I went there, two women at the front desk), your opinion on the matter is not trustworthy or even valid. read more

My daughter has been taking violin lesson for many years. The prices are very reasonable. The teachers are very professional and the staff are very friendly. The staff is always helpful in rescheduling when we can't make our regular class time. I am really satisfied with their service! I highly recommend this place! read more

My son and daughter have been students here since 2008 and I have to say that I do not regret sending my kids there and being their continuous and loyal students. The teacher there has taught my son develop lifelong skills in piano and guided him to achieve NYSSMA lvl 6 and my daughter lvl 5. Walking to Musipire on a nice Wednesday afternoon and half way there, my 8 old daughter starts to cry. Tells me her stomach hurts a lot. I called Musipire told the lady over the phone we are on our way, almost near piano school that now I have to turn back & take my kid to see doctor ASAP. Now my daughter is crying even more. I was told they will charge for no show. Okay I said. I told lady I will call her back after doctor check up. After doctor I called them back again, said my daughter was feeling good now. Pain free and told them I have a doctor's note and asked if we can still come now or later or even next day; whatever's available. Was told everything's full. You lose a class for no show. This is not right, This is not nice at all. They just don't seem to care. The staff do not have an attitude. Their company policy is you need to let them know 24 hours if you cannot make it. If you let them know 24 hours then they will let you make up the class. How are we suppose to know when we will get stomach pains for crying out loud! Especially children! All I wanted was the next available time slot. Not asking for a refund! Musipire was not accommodating at all! Don't know who to talk to , don't know who's really in charge there. Just see staffs working there. Long story short, please think twice before you commit to this professional music school and by the way, they are not cheap too. I told my precious there are other piano schools out there. Let's do our homework carefully! read more

This is probably the best music school anyone could ask for. The teachers are amazing and always make sure that the students are practicing and learning their instrument. The staff is very friendly and they provide excellent service. Musipire hosts recitals every year for students and the music is always moving. Would highly recommend! read more

A one stop shopping music school is any parents' dream come true. My experience has been a nightmare. In the year I sent my children there, the administration was unable to retain the same teacher. They changed my children's teacher three times in one year. Each teacher taught differently and each time, a period of "adjustment" occurred where the new staff wanted to "review"". Needless to say we had to find another location. The only reason I stayed the year was to show my children continuity and responsibility. The attendance policy is strict and one sided. Their staff can call the hour before class to cancel on you, but if you try the same thing, you just end up losing your tuition for the class. Luckily there are many other music schools willing to work with parents. Some with lower tuition. Do not be dazzled by the free trial classes. They put their best foot forward in the beginning and once you are in, they forget they are a service industry. read more
