Over the years, I have met at least three of the dentists and several hygienists, ALL I've met have been excellent. They are kind friendly people, and they do not use high pressure sales tactics trying to get you to do work you don't need. I don't believe I've ever had a delayed appointment and I've never had a negative experience. Recently, I learned that they are not going to carry my current insurance in the future, but instead of dropping me, they gave me a nine month heads up AND they are continuing the existing coverage for the balance of the year. I looked into going to another dentist once I learned of the insurance change and that experience was a nightmare. I was reminded that not all dentist offices are as well run! They also offer their own insurance plan outside of Delta dental, if needed. Better to stick with an excellent, well run office than switch to an office that has horrific customer service.

Having been a loyal patient here for over 20 years, I was deeply shocked by the complete drop in standards. Typically, this office calls me in advance if my regular hygienist is unavailable. However, for this appointment, no one contacted me to give me notice, nor did anyone ask if I was willing to see a newly graduated hygienist instead. In stark contrast, my husband had a cleaning at the exact same time with his regular hygienist and was completely finished an hour before me, which immediately highlighted how poorly managed my session was. The entire appointment felt less like a visit to an established, professional dentist office and more like being a practice patient at a dental school. The cleaning itself was handled with a severe lack of proper care, positioning, and basic technique. My chair was positioned at such an extreme downward incline that it was physically impossible for me to swallow comfortably. A large, square device was placed on the left side of my mouth, which strained my jaw and made me feel like I was choking, the device released water with no suction or it was completely mismanaged, causing fluid to pool rapidly in my throat. When I was finally able to sit up, I spit a mouthful of water on my bib and asked what is that device you are using? Do not use it anymore it hurts and I can't breathe. On top of the immense physical distress, the technical quality of the cleaning was very painful and completely unacceptable; my teeth were not properly cleaned, and during flossing, the hygienist missed a majority of my back teeth on both sides of my mouth top and bottom. Furthermore, the X-rays were taken by this same inexperienced hygienist, who in my opinion should absolutely not be operating equipment or working without a trainer physically supervising him. The images were clearly not captured correctly, because when Dr. Sites came in to examine me instead of my regular doctor, he did not even display the X-rays on the screen above me to review. I explicitly told him that Dr. Howard has been monitoring a small cavity for me, which made me feel that my long-term patient records were completely ignored. Following the appointment, I developed a sore throat, severe headache on that exact side of my head due to the prolonged physical strain. To resolve this issue privately, I contacted the office manager directly. Her assistant assured me that she would call me back to address the situation, but it has now been a full week with absolutely no response. Because of this administrative failure and the complete disregard for my well-being, I have filed a grievance with my insurance company to dispute these charges for unsatisfactory service that was not correctly rendered. I truly do not want to find a new dentist after two decades of loyalty, but if this practice no longer cares about its long-term customers, I will have no choice but to take my business elsewhere.

Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time I'd been given a clean bill of health while underlying issues persisted. My wife, a retired dental hygienist, and I decided it was time to seek out better care--and we're incredibly grateful to have found it at Corera Family Dentistry. I had previously lost a tooth and received an implant, which later became the source of infection. During my consultation, Dr. Seibold was thoughtful, thorough, and collaborative. After reviewing panoramic X-rays and consulting directly with the oral surgeon who placed the implant, he carefully considered my case. Ultimately, Dr. Seibold determined that a more specialized dentist would be best equipped to manage my unique situation and referred me accordingly. What stood out most was the time he took to personally explain everything in detail and the integrity he showed by prioritizing my health over simply keeping my case in-house. Unfortunately, last May I received a text cancellation within less than 24 hours (they bill customers for a cancellation less than 24 hours). I knew it wasn't right, but I moved on with my schedule until the next day when the front desk woman started texting me again saying that she could "uncancel" (yes, she made up that word) my appointment otherwise she will make my account inactive. She won't offer me any other times or dates, she forcefully wanted me to take back the appointment she canceled herself. You can't mess up and expect customers to clean up your mess. What pushed me away from this dental office was to see how this person would feel so entitled to manipulate another person's schedule on her own terms and be openly and confidently BITTER. Ultimately, I hold responsible the 2 dentists for not following with quality assurance with her. She was texting this unprofessional way to a customer of 10 years, and they didn't even have a clue. He had a 10mm pocket of infection above a top molar that infiltrated his sinus cavity. He was in surgery an hour later. This could have turned deadly. We will not return to Dr. Roxy.

After completing paperwork, I sat in the waiting room until 8:35 before being called back. I was there for a toothache only. It took 5 min+ just to get my name in the computer for an X-ray. After the X-ray it took another 5 min+ to have a dentist look at it and tell me I needed to be referred to an oral surgeon ( thank goodness!!!!). Once I learned who they refer patients to, I asked to be referred to another surgeon I am familiar with. I called Downtown Dentist after my appoint was done, 1 hour for 1 X-ray, and provided them with the surgeon's information. After hearing nothing for 2 days, I called the oral surgery center. They had not received the referral!! The people at this dental office were nice but the place is a train wreck. If you want a place that cares about your care and time, this is not the place for you. I will not go back since they blew it from start to finish.

I spoke with a female receptionist, who assured me they were in-network for insurance. She also assured me that she would verify all of this with the insurance and if there were any problems (being out of network) she would notify me prior to the appointments. Never heard from her, so I assumed all was good, only continued to get reminder texts for the appointments. When we (myself and my two children) walked into the office for our appointments, it wreaked of urine and feces. It was absolutely disgusting. I was never asked by either hygienist if I wanted my kids to receive fluoride.(whether I wanted to or not doesn't matter, it's standard practice to ask the parents) after waiting quite a long time for two standard cleanings, I was told there would be a "co-pay" for each child because the cleanings were only covered at 70%. I paid the "co-pay" and we left, thankfully, finally escaping the awful smell of a used diaper. It was truly disgusting. A few days ago I received a bill saying we owed much more than initially presented, mind you, for standard cleanings with no cavities. We were billed as if the dentist was out of network; so lied to about being in network and fraudulently billed by saying it would verified beforehand. Not to mention, the "co-pays" were not deducted from any of the cost. When the kids father (primary for insurance)called to straighten out the billing issue he was told they use a 3rd party provider for billing; it just keeps getting better. Then had to leave a VM with the billing service, to be told, in a recording, that a return phone call would come in 2 business days. Downtown Dentist, this is who you would like representing you by doing your billing??? This is unacceptable and the dentist is in fact in network. How can you even allow clientele to come into place of business smelling that way? How can you bill people this way after lying to them and making them feel reassured that their insurance is in network. This is fraud. -10/5 recommended.

Over the years I've had random dentists tell me I need all kinds of things when to be honest, I know that I have very healthy teeth. With Dr. Lamb, he knew the only two problems I had without me saying a thing and discussed a treatment plan with the cost known in advance. First part of my treatment plan was to have 2 fillings replaced that were in my last two teeth and each had a chip in them. They assumed my insurance would pay one amount and I paid another. A month later I received a call that they were reimbursing me the entire amount cause they didn't know my insurance was so amazing and covered everything! They could have easily kept that and I would have never know! Very respectable!!
