I've been coming here for 10 years. Since before they were Alliance Family Dentistry. I would say…read morethat Alliance Family Dentistry is even better than my prior dentist at this office. Over the years, I have met at least three of the dentists and several hygienists, ALL I've met have been excellent. They are kind friendly people, and they do not use high pressure sales tactics trying to get you to do work you don't need. I don't believe I've ever had a delayed appointment and I've never had a negative experience. Recently, I learned that they are not going to carry my current insurance in the future, but instead of dropping me, they gave me a nine month heads up AND they are continuing the existing coverage for the balance of the year. I looked into going to another dentist once I learned of the insurance change and that experience was a nightmare. I was reminded that not all dentist offices are as well run! They also offer their own insurance plan outside of Delta dental, if needed. Better to stick with an excellent, well run office than switch to an office that has horrific customer service.

I am sharing my recent experience to alert both the management and potential patients about a…read morehighly distressing appointment I had at this practice. Having been a loyal patient here for over 20 years, I was deeply shocked by the complete drop in standards. Typically, this office calls me in advance if my regular hygienist is unavailable. However, for this appointment, no one contacted me to give me notice, nor did anyone ask if I was willing to see a newly graduated hygienist instead. In stark contrast, my husband had a cleaning at the exact same time with his regular hygienist and was completely finished an hour before me, which immediately highlighted how poorly managed my session was. The entire appointment felt less like a visit to an established, professional dentist office and more like being a practice patient at a dental school. The cleaning itself was handled with a severe lack of proper care, positioning, and basic technique. My chair was positioned at such an extreme downward incline that it was physically impossible for me to swallow comfortably. A large, square device was placed on the left side of my mouth, which strained my jaw and made me feel like I was choking, the device released water with no suction or it was completely mismanaged, causing fluid to pool rapidly in my throat. When I was finally able to sit up, I spit a mouthful of water on my bib and asked what is that device you are using? Do not use it anymore it hurts and I can't breathe. On top of the immense physical distress, the technical quality of the cleaning was very painful and completely unacceptable; my teeth were not properly cleaned, and during flossing, the hygienist missed a majority of my back teeth on both sides of my mouth top and bottom. Furthermore, the X-rays were taken by this same inexperienced hygienist, who in my opinion should absolutely not be operating equipment or working without a trainer physically supervising him. The images were clearly not captured correctly, because when Dr. Sites came in to examine me instead of my regular doctor, he did not even display the X-rays on the screen above me to review. I explicitly told him that Dr. Howard has been monitoring a small cavity for me, which made me feel that my long-term patient records were completely ignored. Following the appointment, I developed a sore throat, severe headache on that exact side of my head due to the prolonged physical strain. To resolve this issue privately, I contacted the office manager directly. Her assistant assured me that she would call me back to address the situation, but it has now been a full week with absolutely no response. Because of this administrative failure and the complete disregard for my well-being, I have filed a grievance with my insurance company to dispute these charges for unsatisfactory service that was not correctly rendered. I truly do not want to find a new dentist after two decades of loyalty, but if this practice no longer cares about its long-term customers, I will have no choice but to take my business elsewhere.

First off, I hate the dentist and try to avoid it. Like everyone…read more What I Had Done: Laser desensitizing treatment, a filling, and fluoride treatment. From the very first encounter entering the building, Rosie was kind and polite in checking me in. She gave me the appropriate forms immediately and told me what I could expect financially. Check in was 3 minutes for me to say hi, read the form, sign, sit down. The office offers some cooled waters and coffee with cozy spaces to sit and a warm, inviting atmosphere. AJ came to take me back within 5 minutes of check in (I had an 11 am appointment) and he got me early! I was in one of the bigger rooms in the back. I asked for a TV remote and blanket and AJ was more than happy to help me. He had SUCH a polite demeanor and I truly felt like smiling despite what I was in for. Dr. Tyng came and shook my hand, reviewed what we were doing today, and asked if I had concerns or questions. I told him I had some tooth sensitivity on a tooth that we had a watch on for a potential cavity. After he reviewed my Xrays, he advised that's the most invasive way to repair the sensitivity. He genuinely listened to my issues, verified the sensitivity by poking around with some air, and offered me not 1, not 2, but 3** different options. 1) just use sensodyne and leave it on without rinsing (cheapest option) 2) a polish that would cover the tooth and help sensitivity for 6-9 months (second most expensive), or 3) a laser treatment that works indefinitely and it's the most costly. I asked how much each option was. AJ took about 15-20 minutes to find out (totally fine and reasonable since they verified with my insurance and I kept asking additional questions) and I decided on the laser! AJ and Dr. Tyng numbed me up, and Maren, the hygienist, did my laser treatment. She walked me through EVERY step and what to expect. It took all of 5 minutes. Didn't feel a damn thing. And I'm one of those that feels too much stuff and is anxious. She checked on me multiple times during the treatment to make sure I was comfortable. She gave me advice on how to take care of the sensitivity and her previous record with the treatment on other patients! When that was done, she also left the tube of spare fluoride to be applied after my filling instead of wasting it. :) Dr. Tyng and AJ came back about 20 minutes after injecting the numbing agent and began the filling. It. Was. The FASTEST. Filling. I've ever gotten. It was under 15 minutes. That's INCLUDING the touch up to check my bite. AJ didn't complain once that I needed to adjust my bite and it took me about 4 tries to get it right. He also advised I could come back for free whenever I needed to have it adjusted again. At check out, Dee was polite and kind, scheduled me for my next cleaning, and emailed me my receipt. Upon leaving, Rosie remembered that she emailed me my forms and let me know before I left. Everyone here was so genuinely kind and it felt like they GAVE A CRAP ABOUT ME! They remembered my profession and asked how I was and what my plans were...they laughed with me at the movie I was watching. This was BY FAR the best dentist visit I've ever had. And I had a needle in my mouth! I actually came in and left smiling. I felt so weird being HAPPY leaving and going to the dentist! If you haven't come here, please do. Your needs will be addressed and they will absolutely do what they can to work with you!
