I don't always get mulch every spring, but when I do ... I get a crapton. This year, it came from Musselman Landscape Solutions, which was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They're located in Noblesville, but they deliver to most of Hamilton County. The hardwood mulch was delivered exactly where it was requested to be placed (on a tarp on the driveway, to the right), carefully and nicely, in a tidy little mulchy pile. It was delivered right when it was supposed to be delivered, by a nice guy who made sure everything was satisfactory. The mulch is undyed, but you can't tell at all -- it's a rich, dark brown color. Check their website for discounts (I scored $40 off). You can't place an order on their website, though. You need to call them to set everything up. Now, I have a mountain of brown stuff in my driveway, and the clock is ticking to spread it! Looks like today is arms day! read more

Musselman Landscaping shorted us on our 9 cubic yard purchase of mulch, providing us with probably 7 cubic yards. They refused to make it right by delivering us the difference. My neighbor had the same experience and had order from another company to make up the difference. read more

We have been ordering mulch from Musselman for years and have never been disappointed. Delivery is always on time and dropped off exactly where you want it. Drivers are courteous and call before they arrive. Mulch is high-quality and looks great in our flower beds. The only thing better would be if it spread itself :) read more

The other reviewer is a bit harsh in my opinion. Horrible is a term I would reserve for any number of Taco Bell or Wendy's, not for a family owned business that delivers mulch who didn't pull off a canceled credit card transaction to satisfaction. I have been ordering mulch for about 10 years now from Musselman. I am in agreement that the price is higher than what you could get elsewhere, but the quality, freshness, and texture of the A+ hardwood mulch is why I keep coming back and it has always been consistent. I have also ordered topsoil in the past for some raised beds...delivered in the same truck as the mulch. I called around noon and asked if I could get four yards delivered today...not a problem. They asked where I wanted it dumped and put it right where I wanted. Had it within 4 hours and worked out with my schedule. One complaint...they don't carry firewood anymore which is a bummer but understandable with the amount of work needed to split wood. read more

The staff taking my order and the drivers have always been friendly and helpful. The mulch always arrives when they say it will and they drop it exactly where instructed. Ordered a (Rick )of "Locally cut seasoned firewood for pick-up or delivery. Split in various, easy to handle sizes." Received 1 Rick 80% looks good 20% is either wet, discolored, covered in mulch, and 2-3 pieces rotten. I notified them of this and here is their response i got 2 days later: "Sorry it took so long to reply. The wood that is in the picture you sent is not rotten. It actually was wood that was at the bottom of the pile and had collected a bit of moisture. If you would please let it dry out in the sun, this will solve the confusion. Thank you so much for your time and have a wonder day. Thank you, Michael" I ordered seasoned wood not wet wood. I will not be buying wood/ or anything else from them again, hope this helps someone. read more

I ordered some colored mulch this year for a new area I'm planting. The prices are good, but what really impressed me was the stealth with which they delivered it. You see, my bedroom is directly over the garage and driveway. My wife is a light sleeper, so I was planning to get up early to make sure the mulch was delivered without too much noise. Well, Musselman's delivery guys beat me to it. They delivered very early, directly in the middle of the tarp I laid out, and without waking us or our dogs! read more

BEWARE... Musselman is 20% more expensive than most places around town for mulch delivery. On top of that, they charge you a cancellation fee of 5%. Your card will be charged immediately even if your scheduled delivery is 1 or 2 weeks out. I called the very next day and wasn't told of any cancellation fee. This place is horrible and the lady I spoke with was very rude. read more

I have used Musselmans for 9 of the last 10 years. Everyone I have every spoken to or dealt with has been extremely professional and nice. I use the Premium Tinted Black Mulch. It stays dark way past summer, when many of my neighbor's mulch has bleached out and looks terrible. Even the next spring, it looks very good, but I still put more on because I love the dark dark mulch. They have always put the mulch exactly where I want it. They are very careful of our basketball goal (knock on wood). I called this morning and they're delivering this afternoon. read more

I HAD to give one star - I didn't want to give any. We purchase between 14-22 yards of mulch every other year. The 14 yards of mulch we received from Musslemans was HORRIBLE! It was half dust half dried up pieces of wood. It appeared to be at least 2 year old mulch. We basically wasted $400 as we will have to buy more next year and do this all over again. We called to let them know how bad it was asking for a manager who told us she would tell the owner. We didn't even get a call back. Horrible mulch, horrible customer service. read more
