I wanted to get a quick cut before I left so I called early in the morning and left a message. Mo was quick to respond and offered to open up shop two hours earlier than what she initially planned on just to get me in. Talk about customer service! Mo is extremely skilled and efficient. She was incredibly helpful in looking at some of the ideas I had and offering suggestions and ideas of her own. Okay, by way of recommending this place, I'm going to tell my entire life story: I don't know anything about grooming myself, and I only look in the mirror about once a week. I used to give myself a buzzcut and just let my hair grow until it got long enough that I started accidentally getting it in my mouth when I ate, and that's when I'd decide to give myself a buzzcut again. I would never trim it, I would just let it grow out evenly for, like, nine months. And this looked pretty terrible. So I would go to barbers, occassionally, and they'd say "What do you want?" and I'd tell them, "I want you to cut my hair so I look good." but this answer was nowhere near good enough for them, and they'd be like, "What style do you want?" and I would flounder trying to answer this question, and stammer ineptly, and say, "uh, short, like a nondescript, generic person...?" and I would think to myself, "Shouldn't you know!? You're the professional!" (These exchanges usually ended with my resigning myself to despair and asking for a buzzcut, it was pathetic.) Mo actually does know, though, and she will even tell you(!) She is the "Shouldn't you know? you're the professional" professional that I always suspected, hypothetically, might exist, but had never encountered. Mo can actually interpret your nebulous, poorly articulated questions and complaints about your hair. She has the answers to your questions and the remedies for your complaints. She is wise, and can pare down the overwhelming infinitude of men's hair options to a few, manageable choices, and express them in terms you can understand, like "trustworthy, but boring", or "convicted multiple felon, but from the 70s" or whatever. So, if you have no idea what you want out of a hair place, but you know you want *something*, but barbers never help, because apparently their souls have been sucked out by the Skeksis torture chair of soulsucking that is wage slavery, so they barely have the will to live, much less offer suggestions or advice to their clients, then you should try this place. Mo will help you out. Like, if you have a feeble grasp on what the ideal male eyebrow is supposed to look like, you should come here. Because mine were pretty out of control, and no one ever told me. For years. And she knows all about beards too (obviously), like she fixed me up with shaving supplies, so I can now shave without turning the pale, slavic sweat factory of my skin into a nightmare of razorburn and acne. read more

I've been going to Mo for years. I'm so excited for her and her shop, and I highly recommend it. I have thick, curly (sometimes super-long) hair, and every time I've been to a different stylist, I can see the fear in their eyes over the future carpal tunnel in their hands. NOT MO! Mo loves to play with my hair, whether I want to try something new or just freshen up, and it always looks great!! Also, every time I go in, I remind myself that it really wouldn't be THAT hard to stop in a few times a week for a wash and a scalp massage. ;) Finally, she keeps my hair in mind when she shops and will pick up stuff that she thinks I should try just for me! I went here for my first time today. I wear my hair pretty short and do prefer a barber stylist. They seem to do great at short hair cuts and she did.
