This is more similar to an AirBnB than the traditional having to wake up early and share a meal with strangers situation. You can walk anywhere you want to go in this town from Flossies, which i love when vacationing...across the square to the distillery, restaurants...then a quick walk to parks, the river, and a cool bridge. I have no idea what the previous owners were like, and there was only 1 review posted here and none during the new ownership,so I was hesitant, but I went on a whim due to cabin fever and am happy to say that it was a wonderful experience. Check it out should you ever go to Llano! There are 2 apartments so it would be easy to do a small vacation with friends. It would be super convenient for summer swims.

Contigo is a family-owned working ranch about 10 minutes away from the mountains (hills) of Enchanted Rock. I have no idea how many acres it consists of...but this place is huge. It is surrounded by different styled cabins, some as traditional looking as ours, where you feel completely lost in time...and some are crafted to have a more modern exterior. Either way, this place makes you feel like you're actually escaping from the hustle and bustle of city life. No cell service as well which some can find irritating but honestly we need a little silence every now and then. The wifi does work for the most part though! Our little weekend home came with a living room area, kitchenette, master bedroom suite and large bathroom with bathtub and shower. While the exterior truly felt like a scene from Little House on the Prairie, the interior came with modern finishes with a perfect touch. Fireplace, but also central heating and cooling. Windows in every corner, but also ceiling fans. You get where I'm going here. The center of the ranch holds a gorgeous event hall perfect for a wedding weekend or party. Depending on what you're looking for, you can choose from the different types of cabins on site to stay. We loved it. I will say, it is on the pricier end (our cabin ran about $350 a night). But you're paying for the convenience and beauty of the ranch. Take a morning stroll for a chance to hang with the cattle or enjoy the complimentary morning breakfast left on your front porch. We felt very at home. Denise, the property manager, lives right next door and was super sweet and helpful. Oh, and Castell is a cute small town. Poking around the historic church, school house, and cemetery was fun.

The house has 3 bedrooms, two downstairs with a shared bathroom and one upstairs with a private bath. All rooms are equally beautiful and well-maintained. House was impeccably clean and owner Jim was wonderful and hospitable. Breakfast is brought over the day before so that toy can enjoy the morning on your own pace. The two miniature donkeys on site are cute as can be and they love the carrots you're allowed to fees them. Would definitely stay here again, maybe renting the whole house vs. one room because all rooms may be occupied (in our case) so you will meet with other couples, etc.

I had already left a positive, 5-star review. I called the place to tell them about the bed bugs. They did not answer & they did not call back. The owner is not familiar with Llano or fishing in Llano. If you provide a service, get to know your town so you can be helpful. If it were not for the bed bugs, I would give it a B+. Beware. Beware. And feels like you're staying in a shady hotel, but it's a small town so you're not that worried. Love a tv that's all static, or randomly goes out, very authentic. And a TV remote that's sticky, closed captioning and most of the buttons didn't work. But hey you get what you pay for Late night guy seemed very rude, must have woken him up from his nap.
