We traveled via Tesla EV for a quick two-night stay to celebrate our 41st anniversary. If driving from Houston, I suggest recharging in Bastrop and Llano both ways. You approach the resort by dirt roads, but they are well maintained and no problem for our sedan. The Tesla nav system was accurate. We had no problems getting there and back. Kelly and Brian are excellent hosts. Brian can regale you with many anecdotes from Central Texas history, most of which I had not heard before, even though we've lived in the Lone Star State for 38 years. Our room was quiet, cool, and comfortable. The lobby is also quiet and is a great place to sit and read. There are two very sweet dogs that have the run of the place. We had a lot of fun interacting with them. You can walk the grounds and along the dirt roads with nearly zero traffic. I do recommend sturdy hiking boots, as cockleburrs are plentiful. There are also venomous snakes in this area, although we did not see any. Better safe than sorry. We will certainly return. I'm thinking March or April will be perfect to catch the wildflowers and get in before the summer heat. Please the attached photo captions for additional comments. read more

I was looking for somewhere to unplug and spend quality time with my husband for our anniversary. Tres Lunas did not disappoint. We stayed in the Zen suite #2 and it was perfect for our needs. The room contains a mini fridge and microwave. The fridge had welcoming beer and wine. The view from the infinity pool was amazing and the stars at night while you are sitting in the hot tub was a perfect way to unwind. Kelly and Brian provide a tasty breakfast each morning which is always different. We had the optional dinner served to us on the 2nd night and I have to say, it was definitely restaurant quality. Kelly is an amazing cook. The road up the resort is interesting, pretty much a single track dirt road so be prepared. The resort is very remote and quiet, perfect for a romantic getaway. read more

Beyond expectations. I called around mid-day to reserve for that night and Kelly was so flexible and gracious to adjust her plans to book us. The resort sits on a ridge with sweeping views to the west. The Southwestern (New Mexico?) style lodge maximizes the panoramic hill country views. There's an infinity pool with a hot tub that also lets you enjoy the vistas. We hiked on the ridge top plateau behind the resort. We saw many deer, but no people. We also enjoyed the many (and some massive) Live Oak trees. So peaceful, so secluded. This is a true getaway, but in upscale lodging, and with 5 star service. Breakfast was right there at the level of the setting. Fresh fruit topped with whipped cream and home made granola. Steaming coffee (or tea), and orange juice. Sour dough biscuits baked and served in a skillet. Scrambled eggs and Southwest potato casserole (awesome), and bacon. Kelly was gracious, attentive, and honestly we felt spoiled with her above and beyond service. Tres Lunas is worth going out of your way to experience. read more

We just spent 4 nights at Tres Lunas Resort and it was a truly lovely experience! Kelly outdid herself as our host, with special details like having a flower arrangement in our room, an excellent massage provided by Clarissa, and a special evening meal prepared especially for us. My husband and I took advantage of the pool and hot tub only once, but the view overlooking Loyal Valley was spectacular! Kelly provided a different full hot breakfast every morning, and even gave me a couple of books to read about the local history of the area. This was truly one of the best B&B's we've ever experienced! Totally worth 5 stars! read more

Tres Lunas is a one of a kind Texas Hill Country resort; a place to experience stunning views, gorgeous sunsets, bright stars, warm hospitality, and delicious food. We had an incredible experience at Tres Lunas. A wonderful opportunity to unplug and relax! My boyfriend and I chose to have the private dinner which was EXCEPTIONAL. I was truly taken aback by the homemade Mexican Vanilla ice cream and bread pudding. A soaking tub in our suite offered an opportunity to take relaxing to the max! This place is magical. We spent one night here after a hill country wedding and it was the perfect spot to have a rest and recharge before perusing the Fredericksburg wine trail. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were outfitted with artisanal soaps/lotions and bathrobes which made for a nice homey touch. We awoke to a hearty "cowboy" breakfast consisting of scratch made biscuits with homemade preserves, a yogurt fruit granola parfait, scrambled eggs, bacon and spicy hash browns. Kelly our hostess was responsive and gracious. We hope to return. Next time though we will be there to watch the sunset. read more

Incredible! I will be recommending this B&B to all my friends! It is secluded on a gorgeous property about 2 hours away from Austin. Deer graze in the front yard each evening amid the chirping crickets. The hot tub attached to the infinity pool was the perfect place to relax in the evening after long hikes during the day. Kelly's cooking was sublime! We had breakfast and dinner there each day, and were treated to plates piled high with deliciousness. Our room, Zen Suite #1, had a slipper tub that filled up with wonderfully hot water and looked out over the Texas landscape. My husband and I celebrated our 7th anniversary in this oasis and we'd come back in a heartbeat! Drinking wine, reading, resting and relaxing we're our main activities, and they were divine. This is a small hotel, almost half way between Mason and Fredericksburg, on a hill over the plane of Mason. The views are great but the kitchen is even better. We had breakfast two days (one with chalupas and the other with eggs, bacon, and a special potato dish, both with a bowl of fruit and cereal, coffee and orange juice. read more

We had the pleasure of staying with Kelly & Brian at the fabulous Tres Lunas Resort last weekend. We stayed in the Zen Suite 1. The road to get there is county maintained, and is in need of some maintenance, but that is my only complaint! We had a wonderful dinner and filling Texas-sized breakfast. The hot tub and pool are fantastic. The room was lovely. The robes, the extra towels (good towels, not cheap hotel type towels, and the complimentary beer and mini-wines in the fridge made a big impression. Excellent service, beautiful scenery and property, so relaxing! I am already planning a girls' weekend in the casita for next spring! read more

This place has my heart! We just visited for an anniversary getaway, and wow... I never wanted to leave. Carol and Craig are top-notch hosts, the room (Zen Suite #2) was absolutely beautiful, with an under-stated, contemporary New Mexico vibe, and the VIEW - nothing better. Such a peaceful spot. It's only a 30 minute drive to Fredericksburg or Mason, and we very much enjoyed our day trips into both. We look forward to returning to this absolute gem of a spot. What a find!! read more

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Tres Lunas immensely! We stopped for a one night minimoon after getting married and it was just the scenic getaway we needed. Getting to the resort at night time was a little spooky for us city dwellers, as it is truly remote. However, this allowed us to see beautiful stars as soon as we arrived and set the tone for our excellent visit. Kelly was unable to greet us, but communicated with us in advance and left clear instructions in the welcome letter. We enjoyed breakfast a lot, and Kelly was kind and helpful in recommending activities for our day. We enjoyed a dip in the stunning hot tub/infinity pool before we left- taking in the gorgeous views on an especially clear day! Would love to return in the future! What a beautiful place. No TV, no electronic noise you can literally hear birds flapping if you're sitting outside. The infinity pool/hot tub is beautiful and relaxing. Amazing hosts-we did the dinner option one night which was delicious and easy. Fire crackling in the fireplace. And slept so peacefully-one of the darkest and quietest rooms I've ever stayed in! Very beautiful resort with a view of the countryside that can't be beat. Very private and a perfect place to get away from all the commotion of everyday life.
