It turns a small town of 2000 to 30,000 in a matter of days! This shop is owned and operated by a very friendly elderly lady that has struggled in previous years with theft. I don't believe it had anything to do with your color. Everyone heightens their awareness that weekend because there is a lot of unfamiliar faces. We love having tourists visit our town. We take great pride in that fact that it is beautiful and peaceful. Business owners that have seen some disrespectful things in the past (theft, trash, drunkenness) are just more aware and secure when there is a large event in town. Please visit us again soon.

I was desperate! So i tried Archie's to try to find the right kind of washer and tools. The guys on the floor sent me to Jill. She not only coached me and let me borrow tools, she CAME TO MY HOUSE and returned TWICE to swap out tools and the washers and fixed it herself. She knows her stuff and cheerfully gives it away! A 21st century miracle!!!! Please know that this is NOT a service you can demand at Archie's; Jill offers her skills at HER discretion - she told me that she likes to help out other women because she understands how tough it can be for gals in the DIY/home repair field. Kernville was wall-to-wall people everyone enjoying the Mountains, sunshine, Kern, river, and America's 250th birthday. James store was busy as might be expected on the big holiday weekend. I headed to the meat department too many choices. I decided on 2 habanero and 2 black pepper chicken kebabs to barbecue and a 6 pack of carnation drumsticks for dessert. The store looked great decorated and fully stocked they were ready for 4 July holiday. Shelly my cashier was super, all check stands were open very little waiting. Our barbecued kebabs Saturday night were delicious seasoned perfect and the marinade just right. The drumsticks hit the spot as well. Happy birthday America
