The Musee Cevenol is a very old museum. I used to visit it when I was a child in the 70's. It has since changed a lot and now also offer contemporary exhibition from local artists.
The place is well conceived and beautiful, but some of the writings are difficult to read and others are nowhere to be found.
Regardless, you can find the old ways of living in the south of France. From the cheese maker, the butcher to the silk maker, you will discover many specialties from the region.
With its garden and its balcony, it is worth going in the summer, but be ready... There is no AC in the building and the top floor can be a bit of a challenge.
Apart from a few postcards you may purchase at the entrance, you won't be bothered by the people keeping the place.
If you're looking for local craft, I recommend the Saturday morning market to find authentic products from the region.
It takes about 1 to 2 hours to visit, if you read the descriptions (In French).
This is not a place to go if you are in a wheelchair of have troubles with stairs. read more
