This place is popular with…read morethe Montreal Italians so if you're coming here it is probably for something like an Italian wedding (which has always been my reason for a visit). Out of all the reception halls I have been to in the East End Le Rizz is definitely my preferred one. There are several large banquet rooms here so it is not unusual if there are multiple events going on any given Saturday. There is a parking lot and it is huge so you shouldn't have a hard time finding a spot and in the colder months the coat check is always fast and efficient. Just a heads up that if you're invited to something here you will have no choice but to drive. It is located far from a metro and it would require multiple bus transfers if you tried to take public transit. As with any of these reception halls you can be sure you won't be going home hungry. Italian weddings are known for serving up massive amounts of food over the course of the night and you will get that experience here at Le Rizz. What sets Le Rizz apart though from its competitors is the quality. I have been to a few where food was bland and some dishes were way too overcooked but not here. In general I have always enjoyed what I ate when I came here for events. The other main characteristic of the Italian wedding is the open bar and so people expect it to be done right when they come to these events. In general the bartenders here do a good job of getting everyone served in a reasonable amount of time and they tend to know the recipes for the most popular cocktails. They always seem well-equipped and never seem to run out even after people are doing trays and trays of shots with everyone. The only complaint I have is that on my last visit the bathrooms got a little gross towards the end of the night. Our particular reception hall had its own bathroom but there were 300 guests at this event alone so it could have done with a little cleaning from time to time. This was the only time though that it has ever been a problem.

We checked in at the main hotel lobby but were staying in the Lofts. An attendant helped us to the room on the second floor with no elevator and then parked the car for a daily fee. The room with a kitchen a living room area was very nice. We stayed three nights. I would only recommend a towel bar or hooks in the bathroom, change the battery in the clock, and larger mug cups in the kitchen. We enjoyed one of the three restaurants. I had a lobster roll dinner at the seafood one. The hotel is in the heart of old town and walking distance to restaurants, shops and the St. Lawrence River.

The lobby isn't lavish, but it is very nice with comfy seating areas. The rooms are quaint and cozy with stone walls and wood floors. We had a white wrought iron bed, a bistro table with 2 chairs, a desk with a chair, and a living room type chair. The bathroom is spacious with a brick wall and a large shower. There are two restaurants on site. We did not try the lobster restaurant but enjoyed our meals at Gaspar.

Our room didn't have an incredible view of the city but the room itself made up for it. Bed was very comfortable, beautiful shower with all the toiletries, and spacious. We loved our stay in this room! We absolutely LOVED the rooftop pool which was heated and had an incredible view of the city. The pools closes at 10pm so we definitely made use of it for those night time views of the city while we were swimming! The bar/ restaurant was fantastic as well. Though we did not eat there the bartenders were top notch. I asked for the cocktail of the day and the bartender was so excited saying this will be the best drink of your life. When he was making it you can tell he was a professional with all the steps going into this trip. When I saw he even decorated the foam I was beyond impressed. This was definitely the best drink I had in Montreal! Outside of the hotel amenities one thing that sticks out is the location to old Montreal. Everything is in walking distance and it is a quick walk to some amazing cafes for breakfast and a 10 minute walk to Old Port and metros. I would 100% recommend this hotel if you are visiting old Montreal. We had a fantastic time!

Of the 2 Hyatt's in the area, while the other one was actually in an even better location, this one wasn't bad, and it had services more in line with what I wanted. My first night there, I had issues with my room. I could not get the room cool, and there was an intermittent but non-stop buzzing in the wall in-between the bed and the bathroom. The next morning, when I asked about possibly moving to a different room, I was told they were fully booked, but if I came back after 2pm, something might become available. I came back around 2:45, and rooms were indeed available. The second room had no problems, and the rest of my stay in that room was very comfortable. The parking garage ($25CAD/night if not using Valet) was awkward to drive to from the main entrance, but it was otherwise convenient, with unlimited in/out, as long as you had your ticket validated at the desk each time. But since the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the Metro, I had no need to go out in the car at all until checkout. The pool is on the roof of the 14th floor. It's small for a pool but adequate, with plenty of lounge chairs at the pool level, more chairs and tables nearby, and evidently a pop-up bar that never managed to be open around the times I was there. The hotel's restaurant/bar is very nice, and I reviewed it separately. Perhaps this is my new favorite hotel in Montreal? We shall see.

Just moved to Montreal from the states and found this place on google. Needed film developed and…read morethey got it done quick and with lots of care. Super friendly people. They send the digitized film through an email link (high quality download). You can pick up the film for 2 months after it's developed or they ship it to you. They also sell film and used camera equipment. Prices are decent and actually a little lower than what I was paying in California.

The price was reasonable, and the service was very friendly. Our room was absolutely adorable, as was the neighborhood. The location was great, as it was close to a lot of restaurants (although our experiences with those were not as great) and within walking distance of a Metro stop. Also, for breakfast I was expecting your typical rolls and orange juice, and maybe some cereal, but there was a great selection of different breakfast foods and the dining room was very cute. I would definitely stay here again if I was going to Montreal, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting!
