One of my friends took me into Mutiny for some afternoon refreshments--little did I know this short visit would turn into a major highlight of the afternoon for me!!! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was transported back in time to an era of retro nostalgia that felt both comforting and exciting. The first thing that struck me about Mutiny was its unique decor. The walls were adorned with an array of retro decorations, from arcade games to black felt posters. It was evident a lot of thought and time was put into creating an atmosphere that was so cozy and captivating. What really sold me on Mutiny though, is the exceptional service and the wonderful conversation I had with David. From the moment I walked in, he welcomed me with a warm smile and a genuine passion for his coffee shop. David walked me through their beverage offerings and even took the time to geek out with me on retro stereo players and vintage furniture! Other memorable features include the (free!) arcade machines, comics for sale original in mint-condition, and the impressive cereal bar--a concept I'd encountered in much larger cities but didn't expect to see in the quaint town of Trinidad. The blend of quirky decor, the cereal bar, and, most importantly, the exceptional service and conversation with David made this small-town coffee shop a true treasure. This coffee shop has so much to see. Comic books, CD's, DVD's, and I think even has vinyl records. The art on the walls was really cool and I believe most of it is local artists and for sale. The barista was friendly and helped my friend out with several things. I felt the service was great to be honest. My buddy did feel the regulars were treated better, but I kinda think that's just how it is. I have my regular coffee spot in Texas and I feel like while they treat everyone great, I get special attention. So for me, no worries there. My buddy was impressed by their espresso, especially since it was "single source" or something like that. My friend is more into straight espresso, I'm more of a mocha type coffee drinker. I did think Perkatory coffee was slightly better, but honestly only slightly. If I lived there, I could see me bouncing between the two shops where as here, I only go to my local coffee shop. read more

Came here a couple of mornings to grab coffee while in the area visiting. Coffee was really good, the baked goods, the banana bread I got was really good. Service was friendly and fast, prices are super reasonable. Lots of different coffee drinks available. They also have a cereal bar with a lot of different cereal. They dish it out by the scoop if you're into that sort of thing. Don't really have a lot more to say. There are a couple other places nearby but I think this place opens the earliest and you can actually FIND this place. Parking is easy during the weekends, don't know about weekdays. If you're lucky, on the weekends apparently, maybe the Hispanic kids will be there and you can grab one of their $5 breakfast tacos. Stopped in here before the rad dirt and was tempted to skip the ride to hang out. Amazing space with tons of comic books books, Trinidad, only local, roasted coffee, and great food. Please support this local business. It's fabulous! read more

The coffee was good, I just needed to add sugar. The atmosphere is really fun, so much to look at while enjoying your coffee. Good snacks too! We went on two separate occasions on our weekend getaway. The baristas were friendly. I loved looking at the art for sale. read more

The vibe is very cool and retro, welcoming and comfortable! It reminds me of how coffee shops used to be for me, fun, unique spaces with good coffee and snacks! So unique. In house roasted and crafted coffee...DELICIOUS. The baristas was super helpful and patient to make sure we each got our order just right. I ordered their specialty syrup and I am still thinking about it. A little slow but definitely worth the wait for the experience. read more

we bought 2 lattes; both were lukewarm and milk; coffee flavor was subtle and not the best at that. man that took our order was pleasant and service was good. Women's restroom was dirty: toilet paper and empty rolls on the floor and floor needed to be cleaned BADLY!! read more

I went here yesterday, and it was AMAZING. They have pacman and another arcade game i cant remember the name of, but they were both super fun. I got my girlfriend a comic, and it was packaged very well. I got a small italian soda (peach + strawberry) with cream, and it was definitely worth the money. It's an awesome place to get books, comics, drinks/snacks, and a good place to hang out. I'm definitely coming back soon! read more
