I discovered a slow leak in my front motorcycle tire back in the Pinyon trails. I figured it was the valve stem core. It was tight, but I could hear a slight hiss right there. I rode cautiously all the way to Ocotillo Wells, kinda stressed the whole time. When I arrived the tech confirmed it was just a failed valve core and replaced it. This place will rip you off! Be sure to check the deposit you put down because they never credited my deposit back eve though I returned quads in the same condition they were in when I rented them. I called multiple times and they never returned my calls. Eventually contacted my bank to have deposit charge taken off which the bank did, but Muy Rapido charged it back again to my bank. read more

I took my family out today to rent ATVs and a motorcycle. Tony, his wife and his rescue dogs were awesome! Two of the four of us had never ridden before and Tony took extra time making sure that we had proper instruction and completely understood how to safely use the ATVs. We were camping in Borrego Springs. This morning (Sat) we found that we had a flat tire in back of our car. We call 2 tire repair shops in Borrego Springs however they were closed. We called Muy they answered and told us to come by. We drove 18 miles - they were prompt, courteous and reasonable and fixed the flat tire. I would absolutely recommend them. read more

I rented a 450 quad here, same day. The quad had a manual transmission that was easy to navigate. They required me to provide a $500 deposit and to pick up the quad. No problem. I think the rental was around $240 for the day, but I can't remember exactly. Lots of people were having their bikes and quads repaired here as well. Everyone is cool here. This place is a one-stop shop run by a one-man band named Tony and his pup, Socks! If you're in Ocotillo and looking to rent an ATV, Dirt Bike, and/or a Buggy, come here! Tony took Great care of us! This was my first time riding and I decided to rent an ATV. There wasn't a semi-automatic on the lot (that day) when we arrived but Tony drove a short distance away (5 mins) to pick one up. He took his time making sure I was comfortable with all the buttons and handle of the ATV. I test drove it around the shop and I asked and he answered any questions I had. He opened up a new helmet and tinted goggles to make sure I had the right fit gear and after I commented on how sunny it was and sensitive my eyes are to the light. There may not be as many vehicles on the lot as the bigger establishments on the same street, but he knows each of his vehicles and personally works on each one. He's also born and bred in the desert and knows the area well. He gave my boyfriend and I suggestions on where to go (with a free map) and an idea of how long it may take us based on my skill (or lack of) and distance. Another benefit renting from Tony, is you're dealing directly with the business owner and he gave us a fair, competitive price on the rentals. NO CHARGE for the gear rental or the gas! We discussed and agreed on a specific rental time, but his focus was our safety and told us to take our time getting back even if it meant it was after the allotted rental time. He also gave me his number in case we had any issues or questions while out riding. My boyfriend (who already has experience) had his eye on a dirt bike on the lot and when we got back, Tony offered my boyfriend to take it for a spin. Lastly, I mentioned in the beginning that this is a one-stop shop, and that's because Tony also does repairs, sells parts, riding gear, a selection of t-shirts/sweatshirts, and flags. Being a smaller business, with a knowledgeable and local bred business owner, I would definitely recommend stopping here over the big guys! Support small businesses! Sometimes they make all the difference in your experience! ***If you stop here, PLEASE NOTE this business is all the way on the far right of the building. The building is shared with two other rental business (in the middle and far left) that have no affiliation. I wish there was a donation area to help support his shop. If it wasn't for him, so many family toys would be out of commission! He takes care of people without a focus on money. I've been riding in Ocotillo Wells since the late 80's. Lots of breakdowns and flat tires over the years have lead me to Muy Rapido many times. The first time, I wend expecting to pay the "We're the only shop around, so we have you by the balls" price. I was shocked to find that not only did they not gouge, they actually had better than "in town" prices. And more recently, I have bought tires there that were the same as online prices. Now, Tony really knows his stuff and is a very good mechanic. A word of warning though, he is a bit gruff. Some people may take it personally when he makes comments about using fix-a-flat on your tires, or when he complains about the low quality bolts that some manufactures use. If you have thin skin, you should go somewhere else. If you want your quad/bike/sidexside fixed by a very competent and (IMO) generous mechanic, and can brush off a little venting, there is no better place that I have found anywhere in So Cal. read more

My bike got a flat on my first day out on my trip and called him and he said come down. Right when I pulled up he was ready with a tube and everything was in and out within 15 minutes very nice guy and gave me some information on my bike, I really thought it was gonna cost me a arm and a leg but it was a good price since your in the middle of the desert with the nearest place to even get parts is a hour away, overall a great experience read more

My family and I were off roading at Ocotillo Wells when I noticed the spare tire mount on my Jeep was bouncing more than normal. Upon inspection, I saw I was losing my whole aftermarket steel rear bumper. One bolt was missing and the others had vibrated loose to finger tight. Other than the obvious, this was concerning for two reasons; one, I was on the south side of Ocotillo, where its a very long trip to a hardware store and two, my receiver hitch is part of the bumper and I had to tow two motorcycles home. The closest place to me was Muy Rapido but I have to admit, my hopes weren't too high as I thought they only rented quads. At the front of the store, I met Tony who had a thousand odd size nuts and bolts and when I didn't have the right size deep socket in my kit he loaned me the tools to fix my Jeep. After finding the right size bolt and fixing my bumper, I half expected to be gouged for parts, tool loan, time and witty banter (which at this point I would have been happy to pay). Instead, Tony charged us NOTHING and just asked us to leave a donation of whatever we thought was fair. It's people like Tony who make Ocotillo Wells the best place to off road in Southern California. So the moral of the story is, always support small business because you never know if they will be the ones to get you out of a serious jam.
