I'm not sure why there's some negative reviews here, I thought it was awesome! Mind you, the Negative Nancy's who are complaining must have never been exposed to hardcore DMV joints in giant cities. Las Vegas, NV, for instance, where you'll wait literally hours to be seen. In most DMVs you're just a number. Here, on the other hand, zero numbers used! I made an appointment, however, I'm not sure if that was really even needed. There were only a handful of people in there when I popped in at approximately 1130 on a Saturday morning. When first entering they greet you and ask for your name. They even offer you some bottled water while you wait. Now tell me that service occurs at a regular DMV/MVD (whatever you call them across the country)? It doesn't! Sure, you're paying 29 bucks extra for that service, but if you're anything like me, you've pissed away far more on much more worthless crap before plenty of times. This? A no-brainer! Do yourself a solid, pay the extra 29 bucks and make it easy on yourself. Cheers! read more

Unless it's for something very simple this office will not be able to get it done. I was told a 1 to 1.5 hour wait. 2 hours later and after they forgot about me "they literally used that as an excuse" they cannot process my needs. As I stand waiting for them to figure out that they cannot help me the person in front of me spends more time figuring out what the employee next to him is doing they switch off with me twice and still cannot get it done for me. If I wanted poor customer service and the run around I would pay much less at the real DMV. At least they can get things done there. read more

I am suuuuper sad to write this review, but the truth must be shared... I had a HORRIBLE experience here. Such a long story, but my honest impression is that the Express staff are not properly or thoroughly trained in certain protocols that can be easily resolved at the offices operated by the state... We went in for a title transfer on an older RV my family just purchased. With original owner of vehicle with us on the day, everything seemed to be going smoothly, he left for work and I stayed behind so we could finalize processing. The gal helping us said everything looked great, had all the proper paperwork, etc. ... Ran my debit card and charged me for total amount due plus Express' service fee ... about 5-10 minutes later she said I should take a seat so they could resolve a processing error. More than 45 minutes later she told me she had to issue a refund and I would need to wait for a phone call regarding the status of the processing request - they could not resolve the error that day. 2 days later they called me directly and told me that a VIN inspection was required and needed to be submitted before processing for title and registration could be 'approved'. We took the RV in the next day, (so a few days out still had not received my refund from their office- and it did not show up in my bank account for over a week), and decided to pay the service fee to have them facilitate the VIN inspection. Here are the bulletpoints of what happened next: They called later in the week to say that an additional Level 3 inspection was required by the state police and I would have to drive to Santa Fe and wait until October 5th - more than 4 months out from our initial attempt to process OR call given number to 'try and get in sooner' ... We had to call given contact, and APD followed up with us a few days later to let us know when they could schedule the inspection locally... The paperwork required to submit to APD upon day of additional inspection was mailed to the wrong address with my name on it - to the original owner's address instead of mine - even though the employee asked me twice to double check my correct address - how did she still send it to the wrong place??:( Fortunately original owner contacted us to let us know he received it, and we retrieved the mandated hardcopy that way... Scheduled with APD a couple weeks out, and the inspection took about an hour - and guess what they said? And I quote, "We have no idea why you are here. This is a complete waste of time for everyone" ... APD forwarded their documentation to the main MVD on Montgomery which takes 48 hours- NOT to Express because they specifically told us they do not work with or refer other to Express ... When we went to main MVD office, we were stuck there for over 3 hours, because they could not generate a new process, nor could they modify or void the existing process that Express started because the employee locked access. It was also discovered she input and locked in a false 2nd VIN number that has no affiliation with our vehicle (But Why??? Are you crying yet? ) The office had to close before they were able to resolve and said that they had to forward everything to Santa Fe so they could unlock and resolve. This took a couple more days... Finally, after basically a month's worth of delays, the main non Express office was able to resolve everything, and one more visit to them got us registered and road legal... The employees that helped us at the main office told us their own stress and frustration because Express made their job much more difficult ... I had to contact Express' HR department because of how awful this whole event was for us, we had to delay our family vacation due to these complications... I can only hope this company reconsiders their training operations because according to APD and main MVD, this NEVER should have happened to us. Everyone we worked with were very polite and upbeat, but unfortunately talked a good talk without delivering. They are overly confident and not properly trained. If they are going to charge an additional fee for their services, HR should ensure that their process is easier on the customer rather than leaving room for an absolute nightmare to transpire. read more

I would score zero if possible. Went once, didn't bring what I needed (my fault) so I went home and got it . Only, the check in girl neglected to say I needed so sec card AND passport or birth cert... Back home again. (During my wait to be seen after check in, another gentleman came in and had the exact same thing happen. She told him "or" over and over, not "and") try number 3, she checks me in, has me sit down to wait after checking my stuff. Appx 30mins goes by and the manager calls me back to the window. She goes on to tell me I need my marriage cert bc my last name on DL is different than passport!! She claims the check in girl "tried to tell me but I kept walking away in frustration." The only time I walked away was when she said have a seat. That being said, why didn't she walk the 2 chairs down to me to tell me, or have the manager come tell me before I waited the 30 minutes?! This was the worst experience ever. I highly recommend NOT going here, and apparently the eubank/Montgomery location (same manager as she stated). read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I just moved to NM from KS. My tags are expired and I was needing to transfer the title from my Dad's name to my name. When they looked over the title, my dad had accidentally put the city name in the wrong place and crossed it out. They told me that he would need to fill out an affidavit, have it notarized and mail it. They would not accept a fax. I asked them to look over everything else to make sure it looked correct. I specifically asked about the bill of sale since it was printed. They told me was acceptable, all I would need is the affidavit. When I came back today, they told me the bill of sale was not acceptable because it was faxed. read more

The customer service is beyond amazing!!!! Izzie and Esther are amazing very friendly, and super efficient. It was honestly a breath of fresh air going in and getting my issues taken care of right away instead of waiting in a long line to just be treated rudely by a state employee. I had no problem paying extra for what I needed. Their customer service and accuracy is well worth it and I will be using this location again. I have been waiting FOUR MONTHS for MVD "Express" to process my vehicle registration. I have called repeatedly - forced to wait on hold for up to 46 minutes - and then given the runaround on more than one occasion - now they tell me I should call ALL of the other locations (including other states) to find out if they have received my registration information from my home state by error. The phone number listed is the national phone number. There are no listings for direct numbers for each individual location. Their service is amateur at best, very poor customer service and very poor attention to detail. I agree with other review here - DO NOT USE MVD Express UNLESS YOUR NEEDS ARE VERY SIMPLE! read more

I went in to get a renewed drivers license and with all the new requirements, I presented all documentation, the clerk and her "manager" working yesterday 2/19/20 at 11:30 at 10200 Menaul Blvd NE, Alb NM 87112 location proceeded to tell me they will not issue a new license because my name on my marriage license did not match my Birth certificate, well that is why I had to get a new social security card that did they just wouldn't stop arguing long enough to listen. These 2 women were so ignorant and rude! I went right up the street to the Official DMV and had my new license in hand within 30 minutes. They acted as though I was the 1st case ever that used a shortened name on their marriage license???? Do not waste your precious time with this location! read more

I went here to get a new driver license today. There was only a short wait. Staff was friendly and was able to help me easily. This is my go to place for all my MVD needs. I have been going to this location for years! I have never had a bad experience. Only downside is the prices... But I will gladly pay a bit extra to avoid the long wait and rude staff at many other places. read more

Absolute worst experience I've ever had. They are slower than drying paint and once you finally get to the front of the line they tell you that you forgot to sacrifice a virgin to the gods during the 3rd blood moon and now you can't get your drivers license. This is absolutely the government at it's worst and even though it's not run by the government, they still have to adhere to the laws. Sat here for 2 hours for a 5 minute VIN inspection. Would not use this place again! Talked to three different people none of them knew what they were doing. One of them kept talking and would not listen, interrupted several times. Tried to explain that the NM approval letter is for 2020. But nope.. won't listen. (Which I was correct). Last year, went well at this location, however this year, not so well. There was a time this was a value: little wait (15 minutes or less, as their jingle sang), and they could get the unwelcome business of your car registration and drivers license renewal handled for a small fee. NOW, in the age of Covid, you pay lots more. They tack on fees on top of fees. $25 dollar "tip" for their staff to do their job. I moved back from out of state, and paid what I thought was my only fee for registration. Alas, it was only for them to get my title from my bank. When I returned a month later, title transferred pre-paid, me thought, I find out that the transfer was not paid, that I'd have to pay an additional fee for them to check my VIN #, and then a third fee to do the actual transfer. No where on the website did I find this information, and it wasn't explained at the time of initial trip. Expect to pay $120 in just fees, in addition to the states over $100 fees, and then you get the mandatory tip of $50 on top of that. My second car, i'll just go to the state DMV. Oh, and they lost my voter registration. Just peeked at the BernCo Voter's site for my Sample Ballot -- no record of me in the system. Better beware! read more

We tried to get 2 vehicles registered and titled through MVD Express on Frontage Road in Billings Montana since June of this year. We called to follow up when we had not heard from them after 5 weeks of waiting. No answer, tried leaving a message, never received a call back. Finally received a call from Katlynn who said she was sent there from the New Mexico office because they were so back logged. She confirmed no one was answering the phones. Then she told us that we had made a mistake on the MV1. We checked and had previously filled out the forms for other vehicles the exact same way. We called the Montana DMV and they confirmed we were fine on the paperwork. But we Priority mailed the MV1 one to her attention, filled out the way she wanted. No call from her or anyone. Finally I resorted to emailing the President of MVD express, Janice Lucero, I IM'd MVD Express on Facebook, left messages on the phone again. Finally received a message from the Facebook page and they said they would have someone call us. Greg called. Much to our surprise MVD Express now charges $250 per transaction, which the DMV allows them to charge. Last year they did not charge, but as of Oct, 2019 per Eileen the office manager, they can now. For poor service, no answering the phone, and I see no express anywhere. Covid is not the culprit here, their service has been awful since they got the contract to do this. My recommendation is go through your registered agent and pay them to do this rather than put money in this woman's pocket. If we had known prior to us sending our title there and waiting for months to get a response from them we would not have gone through them. read more

Wish I could give an even lower score! I will NEVER take my business here ever again. We have been to this specific location four times in the last couple of months- all for the same things, getting different answers each time. First time was in regards to my husbands DL- prior to our appointment we went online to see what documents he needed. Once we got to the office they wouldn't accept the proof of residency we had for him. Told us ONLY a credit card statement in his name or a utility bill. No utilities available as we were staying with family while we searched for a home. So we go home, get two different months of card statements printed, and go back. The lady we dealt with that time told us they can't use the cred card statements for both proofs, they can use our vehicle insurance for one. No one told us that before, luckily we had it with us. So my husband gets his DL, and we then try to register our vehicle. It is from Guam, because we are a military family who just moved here. We are told we need the title, they can order it from our lien holder for us. We have them do this, pay them, and are told they will call when it arrives. So we wait. And wait. And after a month has gone by, I call them- no title yet. After another week I call again, no title still. Then I decide to call our lien holder to see why it's taking so long, to find out they had sent it the SAME DAY that it was requested and that it had been signed for two days later. I took down the tracking number and name of who signed and called this location again. I spoke to the manager who said she would look into it and call me back,.. and then hung up without taking my number down(no one has called me back regardless of how many times I called). It took us two months to get a new title sent from overseas so we could register our car, then we went back today and are told our customs paperwork isn't sufficient. AGAIN we were NEVER told this until today. We could have been getting this while waiting on the new title. Overall- Horrible customer service!!!! I am discouraging anyone from ever visiting this location. The only saving grace of this place was the girl who checks you in was really nice. read more

Came into town from California to purchase a used car for my sons, who are students at UNM. We found a car and purchased it. We were told we needed to transfer the title and get new registration and plates for the car. My son and I went to the MVP Express at 10200 Menaul on a Saturday, to get this done, mainly because it was close to where I purchased the car from a private seller who volunteered to help if we hit a snag. The folks at this MVP Express were wonderful. The were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us through the confusing procedures that are quite different from those in California. The fore mentioned "snag" occurred. We didn't have the documentation to prove my son's residency. His paycheck stub didn't contain his address. Yikes! The folks at MVD put their heads together and told us that proof of insurance with my son's name and address would do the trick. They found my insurance company 1 800 number and I was able to call and bind over the policy I had previously gotten set up. Talk about creative solutions! The registration process got going and then we hit another "snag". We didn't have the car's emissions test results. MVD told us where to find a testing station, where we were able to get the testing done. I was afraid that the MVD would close before we could get everything done, but they ASSURED us that they would continue the process, even past closing time. Where does that ever happen?! It's rare even in the private sector. In the end, MVD was able to transfer our title, register the car, and my son was able to register to vote and get a new drivers license. California should take lessons from New Mexico on how to deal with car registration, title registration, and drivers licenses. Many thanks to this MVD Express for all of their help and patience.
