I first came here two years ago to learn Salsa and Bachata. I had no prior dancing experience whatsoever. Now I compete in dance competitions! I never believed that I could get this far. They take their time to help one develop one's skills in a variety of different dances. In the short time I have been there, I learned to dance the Waltz, Tango, Cha-Cha, and Rumba, to name just a few dances. Jamie, our dance instructor, is sweet, friendly, patient and breaks down the dance steps for us until we understand and grasp it. She is repetitive with her teaching so we retain what we learn. My husband and I had talked about taking dance lessons for our first dance as husband and wife, and jumped at an online deal we saw at My Dance Hub. Our experience with My Dance Hub was very positive from the start. The owner Jaana asked us questions about our previous dance experience (we had very little), what kind of dance we were looking to do, and what song we were thinking about using. We met with our instructor soon after, who was very enthusiastic. She came up with a great routine that not only was beautiful but was one that was appropriate for our abilities. We loved working with her - she was so patient with us and did a great job teaching us the steps. Everyone at MDH was so friendly and excited for us as we prepared for our big day. We decided to purchase more lessons as we felt it would add so much to our first dance. We definitely made the right decision. We were so confident with the dance the day of our wedding and enjoyed every minute of it. The highlight was when our guests cheered as my husband lifted me in my wedding gown. It was a truly special experience. MDH has great hours; we were able to take lessons during the week after work. They teach many different types of dance and my husband and I are considering going back to expand on what we have already learned and to try new things. I would definitely recommend MDH to anyone looking to get into dance - even if you don't have experience! Loved this place! My husband and I were traveling and needed a place to practice as we are amateur, competitive ballroom dancers. We checked in here and took a class....wonderful! Friendly, positive environment with expert instruction, we even took a private lesson with Jaana Lillemagi, professional dancer and owner who got right to work on us with helpful tips and suggestions to improve our dancing. The students are well versed in "lead and follow" technique making dancing an enjoyable experience while learning. I found a groupon for two private lessons at my dance hub. I was looking for a choreographer to help with my first dance with my husband at our wedding. The groupon was supposed to be for one person but Jaana allowed it to be for both my husband and I. We went to MDH not expecting too much. We really just didn't want to look dumb during our first dance and wanted some more movement other than swaying side to side. Our first lesson went great and Jaana put together a really beautiful dance with lifts, turns, and dips. After the first class we decided that we wanted to purchase two more private lessons so that we could really nail this beautiful dance. My husband and I practiced the dance several times a day from the day of our first lesson to the day of the wedding, and it showed. We had really learned the dance and became really comfortable dancing it. Jaana put together such a beautiful dance for us that was very easy for us to learn, even with no formal dance lessons for neither me or my husband. Our first dance at our wedding was so memorable because we decided to have a choreographed dance. My husband and I both have said that was probably our favorite moment of the wedding. We had learned the dance so well that there was only excitement during the dance. Dancing with my new husband made the moment a favorite of my lifetime! I was so surprised to see that my husband enjoyed our dance lessons. We both had a great time learning our dance. We only worked with Jaana and I can say she really knows how to teach dance. Like I said, my husband and I have no formal dance experience and we learned our dance and in my opinion, did a great job on it. My experience yesterday with My Dance Hub was terrific. Jaana, the owner, was extremely friendly and welcomed us with open arms. She gave us a tour of the facility. The dance studio is very clean with amazing floors. I was interested in taking a lesson in Standard and she recommended Rodolfo. The first lesson went so well that I stayed for another. I would have taken a 3rd but I ran out of time. I went ahead and scheduled another lesson for next week. I guess if you asked me what sold me on the next lesson, I would say that Rodolfo was having more fun than me. That's a good sign when you can obviously see that someone loves their job. This studio is a great place for anyone to learn ballroom dancing. The teachers are talented, patient, and encouraging. I had no experience dancing whatsoever before taking an introductory lesson, then I was hooked. They have excellent group classes as well as offering private lessons. Once a month they have parties where tons of the students come in, dress up, and dance it up. You will find that the other students are also very kind and encouraging. My father and I went here for last minute help for a wedding dance. Neither of us have a dancing background nor rhythm and of course the song we had was tricky-not a usual slow dance with dad. We called and they fit us in! We did two 45min lessons back to back and we came out with a complete dance to the song! We had Jamie as our instructor who was fantastic.
