We worked with Meg on learning the first dance for our wedding, and the end result was a dance so spectacular that our guests are still raving about it. We have been asked multiple times how we learned such a complex showstopper dance. I had never really done any sort of dancing before, and we had selected a waltz. Instantly, we were impressed at how effective of a teacher Meg was, making complex movements seem easy. More importantly, she put me at complete ease. Our weekly dance practices ended up being the highlight of our week. She broke down everything into basics and helped create and teach the choreography in chunks. As the weeks progressed, we decided to add more length to the song since we were enjoying it so much. She worked on creating the mix and crafted the additional choreography as well. We then decided to practice with our actual wedding clothes on as well, and we learned limitations two weeks before the wedding date. Meg helped us find professional dance shoes and adapted the choreography to work around those limitations, completely making the song feel comfortable even in the limited movement of the clothing. Throughout these lessons, Meg was extremely flexible in scheduling and often going out of the way to work around our travel. She even helped us book a time slot when the entire studio was empty so that we could practice our dance using the whole space in private. My husband and I had talked about taking dance lessons for our first dance as husband and wife, and jumped at an online deal we saw at My Dance Hub. Our experience with My Dance Hub was very positive from the start. The owner Jaana asked us questions about our previous dance experience (we had very little), what kind of dance we were looking to do, and what song we were thinking about using. We met with our instructor soon after, who was very enthusiastic. She came up with a great routine that not only was beautiful but was one that was appropriate for our abilities. We loved working with her - she was so patient with us and did a great job teaching us the steps. Everyone at MDH was so friendly and excited for us as we prepared for our big day. We decided to purchase more lessons as we felt it would add so much to our first dance. We definitely made the right decision. We were so confident with the dance the day of our wedding and enjoyed every minute of it. The highlight was when our guests cheered as my husband lifted me in my wedding gown. It was a truly special experience. MDH has great hours; we were able to take lessons during the week after work. They teach many different types of dance and my husband and I are considering going back to expand on what we have already learned and to try new things. Loved this place! My husband and I were traveling and needed a place to practice as we are amateur, competitive ballroom dancers. We checked in here and took a class....wonderful! Friendly, positive environment with expert instruction, we even took a private lesson with Jaana Lillemagi, professional dancer and owner who got right to work on us with helpful tips and suggestions to improve our dancing. I found a groupon for two private lessons at my dance hub. I was looking for a choreographer to help with my first dance with my husband at our wedding. The groupon was supposed to be for one person but Jaana allowed it to be for both my husband and I. We went to MDH not expecting too much. We really just didn't want to look dumb during our first dance and wanted some more movement other than swaying side to side. Our first lesson went great and Jaana put together a really beautiful dance with lifts, turns, and dips. After the first class we decided that we wanted to purchase two more private lessons so that we could really nail this beautiful dance. My husband and I practiced the dance several times a day from the day of our first lesson to the day of the wedding, and it showed. We had really learned the dance and became really comfortable dancing it. Jaana put together such a beautiful dance for us that was very easy for us to learn, even with no formal dance lessons for neither me or my husband. Our first dance at our wedding was so memorable because we decided to have a choreographed dance. My husband and I both have said that was probably our favorite moment of the wedding. We had learned the dance so well that there was only excitement during the dance. Dancing with my new husband made the moment a favorite of my lifetime! I was so surprised to see that my husband enjoyed our dance lessons. We both had a great time learning our dance. We only worked with Jaana and I can say she really knows how to teach dance. My experience yesterday with My Dance Hub was terrific. Jaana, the owner, was extremely friendly and welcomed us with open arms. She gave us a tour of the facility. The dance studio is very clean with amazing floors. I was interested in taking a lesson in Standard and she recommended Rodolfo. The first lesson went so well that I stayed for another. I would have taken a 3rd but I ran out of time. I went ahead and scheduled another lesson for next week. I guess if you asked me what sold me on the next lesson, I would say that Rodolfo was having more fun than me. That's a good sign when you can obviously see that someone loves their job. My father and I went here for last minute help for a wedding dance. Neither of us have a dancing background nor rhythm and of course the song we had was tricky-not a usual slow dance with dad.
