Al Fazal boasts authentic Lahori (Pakistan) food and it is excellent. Lahori food is a little different to the run if the mill Balti fare and if you haven't tried it, generally, I suggest you should. Hiran (venison) karahi is the speciality here and it is superb. I tried the Balti chicken as a litmus test. Best I've ever had. Good pilau. For the vegetarians, the Channa (chickpeas) and puri is flavour-town. Usually at these joints desert is a downer, but not here. Gooey gulab jamum without that piercing sweetness found in subpar offerings and the ras malhi melts in your mouth with creamy puff and nutty undertones. Just like nanna would make. Super happy with my Achari lamb pizza and friends ordered the wagyu burger juicy and flavorful. Small touches like the magic dry ice in a golden bowl dropped with the food really added to the experience as well as the warm toilettes we were offered at the end. The exterior could put you off but once you climb the stairs and tread along grandma's swirly patterned carpet, you are by the smell of garlic and spices. Inside there's a mix of booths and open seating. Service is quick, food cooked to perfection and the staff are really helpful. They will adapt any dish to your personal taste. I have been here three times now and I have been impressed on every occasion. It does not have a licence and there's an off licence opposite. No complaints at all. Highly recommended.
