The teachers (Ms. Lidia, Ms. Arielle, Ms. Alejandra, and Ms. Sosana) are full of soooo much love and treat my children as if they are their own. As an educator myself, I am amazed by how much my girls have learned at 2 years old- about every single holiday, about presidents, about historical events, etc. The teachers are so creative and when I show their daily school photos to friends who have children in daycare, they are even impressed by the dedication and creativity of the teachers at Little Explorers. The staff at this daycare are warm and feel like family, and this is absolutely something created from the top down.

They are absolutely amazing, completely focus on your little one, and help them grow, develop, and learn. This is not just a daycare or school, it is a family that takes care of your child as if they were their own (Even Akram!!). It starts with the top, and Ms. Kate and her family are phenomenal. They are dedicated to the kids and put their time, resources, and love to the little ones. They are always available and always willing to help. I have been with this school since its beginning in Floral Park with my oldest. Ms. Sosanna was there and took care of her and made sure she was given love and was fed and learned. When it came time for our youngest, there was no doubt or any other choice. We would wait for a spot here. The school itself is a beautiful home, with a spacious area around. It is in tree lined streets. Inside, it is soo warm, full of color or life and love. Everyone who works there loves each child and gives their full time and effort. There is no question, I would trust Ms. Sosanna and everyone here with the life of my child. They are not only in the best hands, but will also develop to their full potential.

I wanted to write a review for awhile, but waited a little bit of time so I could sit down and sort…read morethrough all of my thoughts. We had enrolled with Kiddie Academy before they were even open for business; one of the directors liked to joke that my son was their first kid. It was a brand new facility that was within the neighborhood so we were excited to attend. KA fully opened in September 2017, and although there were some growing pains, it was a well-run daycare that was very responsive to parent feedback. My son had just turned 1 when he first attended KA. We've had amazing teachers - Theresa, Yolanda, Sam, Brandi, Katherine, to name a few. Some of them no longer work there for one reason or another. Turnover is VERY high here. I always thought it was peculiar when seeing their ads for teachers and assistant teachers that their requirements for early education were so low, but since we've always had great teachers up until this year, I never questioned it. I don't want to go into our personal history with this place, and all the detailed ridiculousness that went on in the past few months, but I do want to note that if your child tests boundaries or doesn't do well with passive teachers, this is not the place for you. Earlier this year my son went through a phase of rebellion and testing boundaries, and spiraled out of control because the teacher he had was too passive and a pushover. I would get a call everyday from the newly minted and extremely real-world-inexperienced director, telling me "I don't know what to do." You are a daycare facility, your job is to KNOW WHAT TO DO. Your job is to give your teachers, and yourself, the tools to learn classroom management for young children. There was none of this. One of the other directors even asked me to talk to my pediatrician and to see a therapist. A THERAPIST FOR A THREE YEAR OLD!!!! AND WE ACTUALLY WENT!!! Against my better judgement as his mom, we went, because we thought there might be some anger issues he had to work out. But there were none. He was acting like a normal 3 year old, testing his boundaries, to see how far he could push. The therapist even suggested possible abuse or bullying from other classmates/teachers, but we got none of that out of him. Finally, as a last resort and after almost a whole month of this behavior, they switched him to a different classroom with a more stern teacher. He did well and the calls stopped. After a few weeks, COVID shutdown occurred but did not shut KA down. There was a huge decrease in the number of teachers and kids in the classrooms. Throughout March, April, May, June, July.... We attended. We supported them. In August, as more kids and teachers returned, there were yet again changes to my son's classroom environment which resulted in his bad behavior resurfacing and at this time, I was fed up with the young, inexperienced director. I couldn't stand her almost daily calls asking me to pick him up because she "didn't know what to do anymore." I was ready to move my son out of this facility. After a week of her calling me to complain about his bad behavior I gave her a piece of my mind. We have been enrolled in a structured, Catholic pre-k program since school started and he is thriving and flourishing. The teacher has 30+ years of experience. I wish I could turn back time and take him out back in January when this all started. When kids behave poorly, it is the environment and the adults around him that need to change. I hated having to write this review in this manner as I have always been supportive of this facility even when other neighborhood moms complained about them. I was always on KA's side; I understand how small businesses worked and how much money, blood, sweat they must have poured into this business. But I can no longer do that with a clear conscience after my personal experiences and I can no longer recommend them as I have for the past couple of years.

Now entering her first year of public school, she has become so confident, independent and social. I can thank the teachers and staff for helping her development. Everyone is extremely pleasant and genuinely caring. The teachers are extremely observant and very communicative. The building is extremely clean and well maintained. There's a very good balance of play and education. Quality child care is expensive anywhere you go but I am very happy with my decision to enroll my child in Kiddie Academy. I would highly recommend KA to all for quality, educational child care.

My granddaughter started prekindergarten at OLS. We thought we found the perfect school. Even when…read moreparents commented, "this school is not the same", we ignored them. The prekindergarten - third grade teachers were remarkable, exhibiting Christ-like qualities. The education she received through the third grade was stellar, through and after COVID. These teachers really cared about the social-emotional and educational needs of the students that were entrusted to their care. Even when my son said it was time to change schools I stubbornly held on. But fourth grade confirmed that it was indeed time to move on. During the first week of after-school band practice my granddaughter's instrument was taken and damaged by a student in the upper grades. I spoke to the principal Mr. Venticinque, and after watching a video of the lunchroom my granddaughter's statement was confirmed. I wish this was the only incident that took place during the fourth grade. Unfortunately, it was not. She was sitting next to a new student who stole her school supplies. The teacher said she was unaware of the incident, but the new student confirmed that she stole the supplies because she didn't have any. I still do not understand how a teacher cannot monitor a class when there are only fourteen students in the class. My granddaughter actually prayed to get the fourth grade teacher she wanted. And, unfortunately she received the teacher she prayed for. This turned out to be the reason we would leave OLS. This teacher yelled and humiliated students all year. Every day my granddaughter would come home with a different story. Even though the teacher's anger wasn't directed at my granddaughter, children shouldn't be subject to this behavior from adults. She would yell at students if they didn't wear the correct color for Dollar Dress Down Day. I couldn't understand why her anger was directed at the children when parents make the decision as to what their child will wear to school. My granddaughter came out of school very upset after sitting for a test that she studied hard for. This fourth grade teacher took points off her test because she said my granddaughter was talking. I approached the teacher and told her that my grandchild was telling a student to stop cheating off her paper. The teacher asked why my granddaughter didn't tell her. I told her that she was scared of her. She looked shocked and said she would speak to her. That conversation never took place. After this I didn't approach the teacher with my concerns for fear of retaliation against my granddaughter. When the school year was coming to an end we decided this was not the school environment my grandchild should be in. I approached the principal with our concerns regarding this teacher. He responded by saying no other parents had mentioned this to him. He also stated that this fourth grade teacher never yelled. I knew that both of these statements were not true. I told him that her parents would make the decision as to whether she would stay at OLS. My son emailed the principal, Mr. Venticinque and requested a day and time to meet with him. He didn't respond to the email until mid summer. I was a faithful volunteer at OLS for four years. I actually thought this would make a difference in how my grandchild was treated. Unfortunately, it did not. The behavior of the fourth grade teacher, delayed responses from the principal and high teacher turnover are just a few of the reasons why I would not recommend this school.
