This is when I reached out to see if she could help. When I say she performed a miracle, I am not joking. I went I to Vigor and she took me to a side room where we did cupping. She first analyzed my body and then went to work! I was lucky enough that she was gentle at first and then as soon as the cupping started she stayed true to what needed to be done. I had never had it done before! It felt as if she was pulling my muscles, cracking the fibers and laying them down perfectly. In the end it felt like I had multiple massages at once and my range of motion was better than before. Completely worth my time and the money! Don't sleep on Cali! She is amazing!

Only complaint is that the locker rooms are up at the gym but there is not a path that takes people directly to the field. There's a LONGGGG way around but nothing that is safe. I saw two teams try and climb up a VERY steep hill on the side of the field in between the rink and the gym- although these people were athletes and are a little more agile than you commoner...it just isn't safe.

When I'm not rocking it out at Yelp's Fit Club I come here for my regular boot camp classes. I say…read more"boot camp" but really they are just group training classes at a variety of levels. Nobody yells at you and it isn't a super competitive environment either. Usually a class will include a variety of elements--kettlebells, dumbbells, body-weight moves like pushups or situps, cardio--and the instructors are great about giving variations for those that are recovering from an injury or perhaps aren't yet able to do a harder version. You'll generally get a demonstration of each movement, and extra help if you're not getting it right away. Perfect for beginners, with flexibility for regulars to get better over time. This is the perfect setup for me because I've finally come to the conclusion that I will never be motivated enough on my own to really workout hard. I get bored after five minutes on a treadmill. Jogging or riding my bike outside occasionally capture my attention, but that's really only good when the weather supports it and here in Maine that's like two months out of the year. Train Maine also offers personal training or private classes. They have two nice-sized rooms so that a personal training session can go on at the same time as larger group classes. Usually any given class isn't too crowded and the price is extremely reasonable. Plus they offer morning, mid-day and evening classes to meet a variety of needs. The only downside of this location is that there is no shower facility so you really can't workout here and then go to work (or back to work for mid-day classes). You WILL get sweaty, there's no getting around that.

Boot camp classes are held on floors that are concrete and the instructor has them jumping. This is not good for anyone let alone people that are a bit older! Considering the gym is for the older or aging population and the majority of the attendees in the boot camp classes are 55 and older, some of the moves were too advanced or unsafe on the body. But how would a 20 plus-year-old who is teaching know better? The gym is dark and a bit dank. Locker rooms are clean and nice, but there is only glass separating two showers so you can see the other person's silhouette, which is quite concerning and uncomfortable if you have body image issues. The instructors are sub-par to say the least.

Colt has been the trainer there getting me oriented and gives great feedback at just the right time about form and advice. I've been looking for a new gym community after leaving Brick in NYC and really like the HIIT format of the classes. This is the best kept secret but I want them to succeed so do go try a free class! If you join they have a heart rate monitor they watch to keep track of everyone. Everything is very scale-able to individual goals and abilities. I am hoping to make this a regular part of my fitness routine because I feel so great during and after I workout here. Somewhat weird location near Home Depot, the Taj Indian restaurant and the mega church. Plenty of parking!
